The pistachio latte and pistachio milkshake sign was what drew us in but the bright personality of…read morethe owner was what got us to sit down. Pistachio latte is perfectly balanced between latte and real crushed pieces of pistachio. The pistachio milkshake was everything I wanted. Not too sweet, not too nutty, perfectly balanced. I do wish it was a little more frozen (like American milkshakes) but still delicious. We also had the pistachio cheesecake and baklava, both were great in their own ways. Owner really raves about his pistachio creme. Long story short, it's dank!

That doesn't matter when the manager/ owner is obviously drunk and smoking at the same time... in the cafe My husband ordered coffee, and I chose a cheesecake, chocolate dessert of some sort. It was practically frozen. I let it sit out for a while but it just fell crumbled and fell apart. That isn't where my disfatisfaction began. The person in charge was physically in my space, putting his arm around me, calling me darling. and disrespecting me and my husband. I don't want to relive it writing anymore about it. Take your chances. If the young employee is there and the manager/owner isn't around, you'll be okay.

The smoke was pretty smooth (though my friend disagreed). The interior was also very carefully decorated. I was only allowed to smoke 30 minutes in door (they said it was the law), before I had to move outside with my new friend. It was cold in the winter, but we enjoyed it so much that the temperature was nothing to us. It was nice watching all the lights from the shops outside too.

I loved the open atmosphere of the restaurant and the comfortable seating around the indoor/outdoor patio. We came here more hungry then normal. I ordered the Pottery kebab which comes in a heated clay pot. The dish is heated then broken open at the table to dump out the contents of a heated beef stew like dish. I also ordered the Veggie quesadilla which might be my favorite dish here. I actually came back here again just for the quesadilla. This is filled with peppers to replace the meat. I'm not a veterinarian but this was better then the other meat dishes I've had. To drink I had the Limon coco. This wasn't bad but I might get something else next time.

Our waiter spoke English and told me the homemade pasta / raviolis were the best way to go. My girlfriend ordered grape leaves which were vegan and perfect for my girlfriend and had a strong grape leave flavor. The Capadoccian wine we had alongside the meal was surprisingly good and we were given free tea and cake at the end of the meal. This was one of my favorite meals in Turkey and is no tourist trap. Make sure you come here if you visit Goreme.

We ate well; my dish was the closest thing to home... rice and stewed chicken with salad (the chicken plate with sauce). The other dish we ordered, the meatball kebab, was just okay -- not good or bad, just average. It's nothing fancy, we were looking for something affordable, and this delivered. They also brought us bread, and near the end we noticed it had mold on it... maybe it was just this one time, but I can't leave it out of the review. They didn't take card, and we didn't have enough cash in TRY, but they accepted a mix of USD and TRY
