This place in the morning seems to fill up fast with reservations, so we made sure we arrived a half hour after it opened. You come in, and basically seat yourself if you can find a table that is open. Menus should already be on the table, but ask if you need them. Again, learn some German and ask if the waiter or waitress can speak English. We were lucky that our waiter did speak English well enough to order. They do have English menus, but thanks to Google Translate, we ordered from the German one. Since I knew how to speak in German, I ordered for my husband an omelette with cheese and tomatoes, and I decided to try their homemade pancakes, which was actually a crepe with their "buffet" jam. The buffet was literally a shelf along the wall with all different kinds of homemade and store brand jams. Each was more spectacular than the next! Excellent choice for something different on the menu. My hubby's omelette was super yummy and flavorful. The service was not rushed in any way, and the vibe here is very relaxed and laid back. We could tell people were truly enjoying themselves and not rushing to go run off to do something else. If you don't have time to kill, this might not be your place. BUT. Sofia's Cafe has proved me otherwise. This cute cafe & tea shop that recently relocated from Kronberg is such a delightful find. The interior reminds me of a typical British tea time joint that is utterly beyond adorable and quite dainty. The seating is plentiful and the larger windows offer the perfect amount of natural daylight to illuminate this quaint place. I ordered the blueberry latte (because I like to try new things, I mean c'mon!) and it was delicious! It tasted like a blueberry milkshake. Or an Asian milky blueberry chewy candy. We also ordered the Honey Toast which comes with a giant dollop of fluffy whipped cream & drizzle of honey and the strawberry vanilla cake which was equally delicious and so ever moist. I've been living in Germany for close to 3 months and am a dessert afficionado and honestly have not tasted anything that delicious here until now. Sofia's Cafe knows how to do desserts right. They were so good that I got a slice of oreo cake and carrot cake to go (I'm a fatty- don't judge). Both were divine and also not like the uber sweet American cakes back in the US.
