Like most Bavarian restaurants this place lacks a great deal of choices for vegetarians. I had the Maischolle for lunch and it was delicious with a nice olive and tomato ratatouille on top and served with a really nice side salad and Bratkartoffle. I licked my plate clean. For dessert we decided to share a Kaiserschmarrn. It took a while to get to our table but when it arrived it was a huge portion. I am glad we did not order the big size as what we received was enough to share with four. It came with deliciously spicy stewed plums and was very flavourful. It was the best one I have had in Bavaria so far and I was in heaven. Crispy, stodgy, buttery and sweet.....its an amazing treat :-)) The staff here were very friendly and the menu extensive. They even brought out a nice bone for the dog and, he was in heaven and, completely satisfied chewing on it whilst not caring about the world :-)) I would come back here anyday for a meal. English is not spoken here so a bit of German would help. The waiter told us that many people are coming next week for Kaiserschmarrn. I did not enquire as to what the occasion was but with such good Kaiserschmarrn, I would not be surprised to hear it. Take the long walk get to this place and treat yourself :-))) you won't regret it, I know I did not :-))

When we wanted to pay with a standard European Maestro card as we happened not to have cash on us, we immediately got yelled at and threatened by the older red-headed waitress that she would get the police. She didn't even try to see if our card worked. So my husband went to the car to get some change to make the €6,90 bill, while the waitress stood over me, like I would run away (I'm 8.5 months pregnant btw). No where on the menu or in Biergarten did it say cash only or German cards only. So apparently visitors or tourists are not welcome.

There's tons of seating outside and it's spread out so you're not intruded on by other parties. The menu was in German, but we used a translate app to help. I had the dumpling and mushroom dish. It was tasty but fairly heavy, especially the dumpling. Seemed to be a heavy cream sauce with a large dense potato dumpling. Everyone else was happy with their food as well. Rating 4 stars as it's a solid restaurant, but nothing over the top.

The path is mostly shaded and you can either take the shorter more uphill route or the longer flat route. Once you get to the top you have this amazing Alpine bier garden with stunning views and of course lots of drinks to quench your thirst :-)) Food is ok here and the menu is typically Bavarian. I would highly recommend this walk and you can do a a trip up hill and down or extend your walk to include some other points and will take about 5-6 hours. We did the 5 hour trek and you need to be reasonably fit or an experienced walker as the first 90 mins is all uphill :-))) If you have time this is well worth it :-)
