In any case, this is where you can see many of the local prostitutes and drug addicts. They are normally not aggressive as long as you avoid eye contact, so just be cool. Wait, where are you going? Come back, it is really worth a visit. For one thing, there are a lot of great restaurants here or on its side streets; especially if you want Asian food. Although Magasasa and Thai Corner scream "tourist trap!" due to their close proximity to the central station, you can get good, authentic food. After that you'll want a drink, and it's easy to roll your distended belly down to Ølbutikken or Mikkeller. And if you drink one too many, drag yourself further down to Kebabistan for that late night stomach-padding. Although it is sort of an ugly street, it has its own charm and so many nice places to eat and drink. Just refrain from buying any people or drugs and you'll have a great time. And, I use that term,"Tourist Attraction," lightly…read more It is said that this place is the home to many of those who live an alternative lifestyle in Copenhagen. They claim that this area is completely beyond the rules and the laws of Copenhagen. In some ways, that is pretty easy to see as the main street is lined with people selling weed and hash, which is still illegal in Denmark. Copenhagen is not Amsterdam. Though a bit sketchy, this city within a city is very well maintained. I am sure there is some other story going on here. ...One that we will never know. This being said, what you will find here is some of the best street art and graffiti that you will witness anywhere across Copenhagen. Of course, it is clearly stated all over the place, "No Photos." But, I'm guess that is more to keep the people dealing drugs safe and off the radar than anything else. One of the funny/interesting things I find about this location is that tour buses actually pull up to it. I don't know, maybe it's just me me, but if you are truly embracing an alternative lifestyle that all seems rather intrusive. Nonetheless, this is an interesting place. Even if all you do is look at the great street art, it is worth the visit.

Dragør is the perfect tourist spot to take you back to historic Denmark. Located in Kastrup, just…read morebeyond the CPH Airport, Dragør is one of the more unknown tourist spots in CPH. Boasting 76+ pristine historic buildings from the 1700 and 1800s, Dragør creates a picture perfect fishing village. The village is very well preserved, from the thatched roofed buildings to the narrow cobble stone streets. You almost feel like you're in an amusement park until you peer through the windows of the local buildings and discover that these are actual homes still being lived in today. Getting to the village and the harbor is relatively easy. You can't directly get there by train but there are plenty of buses that will take you directly there. But be prepared for a long bus ride if you're coming from anywhere in central CPH. There is also a parking lot near the harbor but it seemed to be consistently full, especially if the weather is nice. On a beautiful sunny day, the harbor beyond the village is the perfect place to grab an ice cream from one of the many local shops or grab a coffee and walk along the boat pier. Most locals like to soak up the sun by the harbor and enjoy the nice sea breeze. You can even view the bridge to Sweden and if you're really lucky, maybe Sweden itself. But don't limit yourself on visiting only during nice weather. Apparently, they have a ton of events during the winter and go all out for Christmas. I definitely plan to revisit Dragør this winter to see it turned into a quaint Christmas Village.

Back in the 90ties I were studying Geography, and we were making a analysis of the street. It had been a vibrant street in a working class area with all kinds of shopping. The street died, and it raised again like a phoenix. All the essential shopping is back, but it's a hipster community. Fortunately a lot of the housing in the area is non-profite, so the area known as The Black Square is still black by it's emigrants and drunks. You can also spot a student or two. In the street you can buy to expensive coffee, support Islamic extremists, have icecreme, buy clothing, hang out with cheap beer, or do what you want. We're inclusive at Blågårdsgade. Just remember we live here, and you're a probably a guest.

A great area that embodies Inner Nørrebro perfectly. A lot of Danes (including those "with another…read moreethnic background than Danish," as ethnic Danes would say), international hipsters, and immigrants like me hang out here. Although the street itself is dirty, the shop fronts are colourful and attractive and the graffiti is cool (NOT the tagging). Why are we all hanging out here? Because there is something for everyone. Blågårds Apoteket for the older day-drinking crowd, Harbo Bar for the hipsters, Beyti for drunks in need of a meal, and Cafe N for the vegetarians. Obviously these divisions are not cut and dried and of course there are also some places with a mostly mixed demographic like Props, Hind Marked, or the library. Although this street has had a troubled past, it is a nice blend now and when I'm here I feel at home. It's especially great when there is a block party or fleamarket going on. Definitely check it out if you are visiting Copenhagen, just stay out of the way of cyclists. This building is kind of a strange structure to write a review about. Why? Because it's not a…read morelocation where you can actually go into. This structure is made up of apartments. Yes, you can take a virtual tour. But, people live here. So, though it is a very interesting structure, and has a very unique architectural design, all you can do is look at it from the outside. This being said, it is one of the most recognizable buildings in all of Malmö. You can pretty much see it from all areas of the city. This structure is very close to the shoreline in Malmö. So, it's a nice place to walk to either when you're coming from the ocean or going to the Malmö shoreline. Overall, it is what it is, an interesting structure, and one of the defining factors of Malmö, Sweden.

When looking up what to see in Malmo Lilla Torg comes highly recommended. This plaza is paved with…read morenatural stones and is lined with historic buildings that have been transformed into a combination of shops and restaurants. This 16th century town square sports impressive brick architecture, colorful houses dating from the 1600-1800's, and a peaceful courtyard. Known for its restaurants and nightlife, it is abundant with outdoor terraces. We hear it is very popular in the summertime and even though we were here on a weekday in the winter, the restaurants and bars were packed. Even with it raining there were couples strolling down the cobbled streets via lamplight or packing into the delicious smelling restaurants. It was definitely fun to see in the winter but we would love to return to enjoy it in the summertime.

Just walking distance from the Vestamager station, is this nature park. It is huge. I've visited…read moremany times but I still don't think I've explored the entire thing. It may look a little boring because at first glance, it seems to just be flatlands. But if you go a little deeper into the park, you will come across dense forests, ponds, and if you're lucky, wildlife. This park is perfect for biking, hiking, walking, going on a picnic, horse back riding, animal watching... you name it! When the weather is nice, expect to find many other people enjoying the park with you. However, people tend to visit this park come rain or shine. I love all of the added quirks that the Kommune has added to the park, like the wooden viking ship for kids to play around in, bird watching huts on top of the ponds, the nature center, and the animals. It's all very well-maintained as well! This park is a great place to bring kids or get out and connect with nature.

There are some animals you can see, there is a cafe in the nature and there are grill areas where you can cook your own food with picnic areas. At the time when we went, there where many children playing around and families having picnic and also a bunch of young people making a BBQ. At the cafe you can buy ice cream refreshments and so on but I can not remember how the food menu looked like. Just remember they accept only Dankort and when you re so far out from the city it's hard to find an ATM. I don't know what other activities you can attend but it seems there is a lot going on which you can check from the site. I recommend this as a bike ride combined with a coffee stop here!
