I have truly never wasted so much time on a company. This saga started in November of…read more2024--almost 7 months ago. Jamie did not show up the first time he said he would. Eventually, Jaime came out and quoted me $3,550. I asked him when he could complete the job and he said "two weeks." He did not respond to my next few messages and finally, mid-January (I wasn't in a rush at this point so I didn't get too concerned with how long it was taking), he responded. I requested some dimension info and he said he would get back to me "later." On February 7, I followed up yet again and we discussed styles of fencing. He told me we could meet the following week and start by the 24th. When the following week came, he canceled, rescheduled, had my partner come to the house and didn't show up. On March 25th, I followed up to see if he still wanted to do the job. He responded that I should send him a drawing with dimensions and that also "the price went up" (on a project he never timely completed). On April 8th, I followed up on the new pricing, which I still hadn't received. And I followed up again on April 15th after not hearing back. On April 16, he said he could start my job in two weeks. When I responded asking what else he needed to start, he didn't respond so I emailed his wife to see if I could get the new quote. She said he would stop by the next day to confirm measurements (again). At this point, I had also sent the survey with marked dimensions. On April 30th, I reached out and pointed out that I still had not heard back. I was told AGAIN that he would stop by tomorrow and it would be a "priority." On May 4th, I followed up again. No response. Today, I finally give up on this wretched experience. I blame myself for being so patient, but you should know what a waste of time and cost suck this will be on your project if you use South West. I never did get the "new pricing." Edit to respond to below: You never met with anyone because you stood my partner up at the house, and told me you would come and never "stopped by," as promised repeatedly. You never once said: "you need to be there when I stop by to measure." Further, I never signed anything because it was never sent despite repeated follow ups by me. This was seven months. Seven months of me following up, texting, emailing. The fact that you can't take responsibility is very telling.

The last two bids were very close. Both had great reviews but Shelton's could start sooner. I am really glad that worked out because we live the fence. They were on time every day. They built this during our scorching summer and never complained. Our ground is uneven and had many trees and rocks and roots. They pointed out what we needed to address ahead of time and we did. I have since learned that Alexander and team never received my original feedback until I had posted my review on yelp. And within days of posting I was called and asked what happen and how they could make things right. I forwarded my original feedback along with multiple pictures and immediately was told that action would be taken to correct the issues. Then came bad weather and various other events, but I will say, they called me every few days to keep me apprised of their availability to ensure it worked for both of us. Today, I am happy to say that a crew came out and put new gates in and repaired some of the other findings. As I expected, the crew came through and did an excellent job. They made sure that I was satisfied. The Project Manager later called me and asked if it all met my satisfaction. He gave me his number and said to call him if something else came up that presented an issue. I debated on leaving the original post up or not, but I wanted to leave it as a lesson learned. Not often is it sufficient to send a text or an e-mail, it takes both parties to try various forms of communications to ensure feedback is given and received. This works both ways. I think Alexander calling today even after he knew the job was done and asking/telling me to not hesitate to reachout. This company clearly is concerned about doing a good job and maintaining an excellent reputation. I would highly recommend them.
