Came here to buy some hot food and it was recently made just place in the hot food section so I just showed up right in time it seems. The rest of the store was well stocked and inventoried. With a huge selection of snacks, and great drinks for the road. Restrooms were also pretty clean as well. Staff is also friendly as well, parking isn't too bad but it is a pretty busy place. The garbages were overflowing, toilet paper on the floors, the toilet seats were dirty. There was all kinds of toilet paper rolls everywhere open in the stalls, by the sink. We do a lot of home cooking, competition cooking and do cater small events. We had used a local…read morecompetitor for years for our products and supplies, but when GFS came to town, we decided to try them for a while. Initially things went well, we always got what we needed. We have stopped to shop and asked to have whole cold cuts and cheese sliced when there, but they did not have staff on hand to do it. These days we get asked to call ahead, never used to have to do that, what has changed? Often times we buy on the spot so don't have time to call ahead or drive back. Staff is mostly always nice, professional, store well appointed and clean. However, we started running into not being able to items we normally were able to get, sale items were out of stock when we drove the distance to get there. This doesn't help when you count on a service to help you meet regular needs, so we ended up going back to competitors more now that we have had better luck with. We will still use them, but we are much more careful and don't assume things will be readily available. Not sure if its corporate or management changes locally, but it used to be seamless. Don't advertise if you can't deliver the goods!

When we left Verona 8 years ago, there were only two Costcos in the area. The west side one in Middleton was very close to work, was a frequent stop for rotisserie chicken for quick dinner plans. This location opened in Verona since then, and is just as large (probably bigger). Like other Costcos, it has a relationship with local businesses to sell their wares. In our case, I wanted a case of Spotted Cow cream ale from New Glarus brewery ($31.49 for a 24 bottle pack). You can't get that outside of Wisconsin, so was a (somewhat) necessity to bring back to our relatives in IL. The inside was large and wasn't too crowded, even on a Saturday afternoon (with plenty of parking), so was able to find what we wanted and get in line. There were a lot of workers giving out free samples, and I was convinced to buying crumbled blue cheese chunks (just because it tasted so good on a spinach salad). Those were our two things, finding a line that we got through quickly. We paid with our membership card/Visa Costco card, and we were on our way.

Gone is the Slush Puppy machine that took so much of our money, as well as the prominent candy aisle when you first walk in. I'm guessing management tired of catering to kids after school. As far as present day it's got the usual trappings of a convenience store - pre-packaged pastries, a cappuccino machine, and a wall of cold drinks. I didn't notice a fountain soda machine, but I also wasn't looking - we just popped in quick to grab a couple bottles of soda to accompany the Famous Yeti's pizza we picked up next door. The man working the counter was friendly and thanked us for coming in. The parking lot is easy in and easy out. Not a whole lot more you can ask for when it comes to gas station stops.
