This is the kind of store where you do not necessarily go in looking for something in particular, but just go to look around in to find something cool. And when I walked in and saw the piles of Turkish carpets sitting around, I knew. We had found the place. The owner is very friendly and helpful (and also an excellent salesperson, so don't say I didn't warn you!). In addition to the gorgeous carpets he has lovely lamps, dishes and jewelry, all Turkish style. As I said we walked all over Amsterdam and Haarlem and did not find another shop like this. Once walked in, realized it was a second-hand shop and there were tons of shoppers in there. Everything was very neatly labeled and grouped together accordingly and everything also had a price-sticker which was totally great! There was also a small selection of English language books (mostly thrillers and chick-lit) and an enormous toy selection as well as tons of tableware and home decorative knick-knacks. Plus also really great selection of table lamps. I ended up purchasing one lamp myself and it was only €5! Hurrah - it was my first house purchase in the Netherlands! (I tried walking away at first, but the design was just too appealing!) The staff were super kind too. Since this was a somewhat impulse buy, I didn't have a bag, and so the lovely lady at the counter gave me a cloth bag, gratis, which was really cool of her. My latest purchase is a medium-sized cross body style handbag called Earthbeat and the colour is Aubergine. It is ideal for travelling and the perfect size for all my bits and bobs. The store assistant, who is often the same one, was extremely helpful, pleasant and very knowledgeable and there is usually a special offer with every purchase, such as a half-price purse.
