These red hot cajun, zydeco and swamp pop beats will get you movin' like a gator after mamma's gumbo! This station rocks out on the FM dial at 101.1, but you can pick it up online. I can't seem to get it over TuneIn or a smart speaker. The DJs go on in a French Cajun / English mix that can be bit hard to keep with sometimes, but that's what makes it fun! I really enjoy it when they go on about the food in Louisiana. They all have an opinion on boudin. This station has an annual cajun music festival, but alas, I've never attended.

Our programming is a unique variety of music with a Louisiana flavor; Cajun, Swamp Pop, Zydeco, Country, Classic Country, Oldies, Blues, and more. Though we do such a broad variety of music, KBON 101.1 FM is mostly dedicated to Louisiana Musicians and Louisiana Music, with 85% of our airtime devoted to local music artists. Now here's my feedback on KBON. I'm a displaced Cajun, living in Austin, Texas, who gets so homesick sometimes my heart hurts. KBON actually makes it worse because they are so authentic. From the very thick accents of the DJ's to the partial Cajun-French spoken morning show, this is an awesome station. I am a club member so I get to listen to the stream online at work. You can go a whole day and never hear the same song. (They have pretty strict no-request policy except for two an hour on weekdays. They do this so the same song is not requested and played over and over again.) They do a lot for promoting Cajun culture and Cajun musicians and dedicate Friday's to Louisiana artists. The DJ's are so friendly. I've emailed them many times asking what a song was or who was the artist and the album I could find the song on. I always get a quick and friendly response.

Louisiana Proud! This is such a cool radio station! This is…read morea local affiliate of National Public Radio out of the local university, University of Louisiana. They do such a great job with local zydeco, cajun and Louisiana swamp pop. My favorite programs are when they have the local music talent on, and the entire show is in French Cajun dialect. There aren't any advertisements on this station, since it's on the left side of the dial, and is supported by listeners. So if you're listening, be sure to cough up some scratch for these guys and gals broadcasting from the swamps! This station still gets a bunch of the nationally syndicated radio shows from across the country, but the best stuff is certainly the locally produced shows. If you're a fan of accordions, which we all are, of course, then tune in, turn on! 88.7! This radio station never has any call in contests, but that's okay. Fortunately, you may tune in this station on your smart speaker by asking for the call letters, KRVS.

The morning DJ hadn't gotten wound up yet so that was pleasant.
