This spot is very nice and has a very modern chill vibe to it. The location is great in the heart of downtown Brownsville. The service was really good and prompt. Very friendly staff. The appetizers we tried were the Pork Bao Buns & the dumplings. Both appetizers were amazing 10/10. However, the ramen was just not quite there. We had the Miso Tonkotsu. It looked amazing BUT the broth was just way too salty. The ajitsuke (soft boiled egg) was pretty much a Salt bomb. The pork was also a bit charred which didn't taste unpleasant by any means but it is just not the flavor I'm looking for when eating ramen. But that really wasn't an issue. The main drawback is the saltiness of the broth. This is the only reason I'm giving it 3 stars. Overall this place is great to go with friends and have some drinks and apps as the environment is very warm and inviting. The ramen is the only thing that needs work. Upon arrival, we requested a table for five. The hostess informed us that it would be challenging as they were currently full. We expressed our willingness to wait on the list, but she hesitated, asking if we were certain and the wait would be more than 20 minutes. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of inadequate training she had undergone to greet customers with such a dismissive attitude. We ended up waiting for less than 10 minutes for a table. After waiting for 20 minutes for water, we were finally served an hour and a half later with cold ramen. The noodles were gooey on the outside and crunchy on the inside. The waitress explained that the food was delayed because the kitchen was shared with the Mexican restaurant next door. This was the first time I had ever sent a dish back. I asked for the chile de árbol ramen the second time, which was slightly more palatable and arrived in just five minutes. The way the ramen is typically served in any other ramen shop. They already had the soup prepared and simply added the ingredients to the bowl. read more

Food was delicious, new place is ok, I think the last location seemed better. Our bartender/waitress was really sweet, I don't remember her name but she was platinum blonde. The only thing that was negative out of the experience was that the bartender was wearing a glove, she kept getting dirty dishes, washing them, and making drinks with that same glove and touching the ice with it along with her bare hand. It's kinda gross... there's cross contamination by doing that. It be best to take the glove off and put a new one on after touching dirty things and washing your hands after. You have your servers doing the same, grabbing dirty dishes then getting the glass bottles to put faucet water in them and touching straws with their bare hands. read more

I visited on a Wednesday around 8:00 PM for ramen. Upon arrival, the hostess/waitress informed us that the kitchen was running approximately 20-30 minutes behind on orders. We understood the delay and chose to stay. We were seated and placed our order immediately. After waiting nearly an hour without any updates, the waitress informed us that the kitchen had closed and they were no longer able to fulfill our order. What is most concerning is the lack of communication and transparency throughout the experience. If the kitchen was unable to continue serving orders, customers should have been informed much sooner rather than being left waiting for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, this is the second negative experience I have had at this establishment, and the level of service has been extremely disappointing on both occasions. I would appreciate knowing the name of the manager and who is currently overseeing the operation of the business, as the customer service and overall management of the situation were unacceptable. read more

Phone service is always out. Keep receiving messages that the number I've dialed is not in service, or the message that no one is available to take your call. Why even provide a number then if you're not going to be answering or taking phone orders, this happens multiple times, or they get my order wrong, or they don't seal it properly and it spills all over my vehicle. I had an amazing experience here at kuyashii ramen! The food was amazing, the vibe was great, and the service was really good!! 10/10 recommended (especially during happy hour, they give $2 off ramen!) Me and 2 friends stopped in here on a Saturday night around 6:30. The place was busy, but we still got a table right away and had great service. The customer service here was super good - My first sake bomb shot missed and they brought me a second for no extra cost! The food here was phenomenal. I got the spicy birria ramen and it was so delicious. I ate the whole bowl (and it was very filling). I would 100% get this again and highly recommend it. The egg was delicious, the broth was rich and flavorful, the birria was tender and yummy and it had the perfect amount of spice. Music is always too loud not able to hear each other's conversation, tables are not comfortable at all. Food is good, variates a lot , sometimes is perfect and then other days , is cold or salty or insipid. I have mixed feelings For instance ambiance is perfect, so cool to find a nice but chill restaurant and service was impeccable. We tried the pork bao , birria bao, fajita bao buns and the pork dumplings it was espectacular! The Japanese cake for dessert was oh so good! Now the ramen was very bland, really didn't have enough umami or consistency. The chashu was rushed and tick so it wasn't tender, the chicken ramen was not great as the broth was more like a chicken soup with some pieces of very thick and hard to chew chicken, the ramen eggs super salty and the noodles didn't have any flavor. Next time I'm skipping the ramen but I will definitely want to be back for the rest of the menu. read more

I understand this is the only Ramen spot for miles but how do you run out of 70% of the ingredients on the menu and half of the sodas on a Saturday night at 8:30. then they tried to charge me $17 for a yakisoba without the ribeye meat because they ran out. everything that was available was super salt. I ordered the chile de arbol ramen and I was a little disappointed. It was incredibly spicy, which wouldn't be a problem if the broth wasn't a little bland. I forgot what ramen my husband got, but his broth was better. The star of the show was their carnitas pork belly. I've never had pork belly this good, and I've tried several ramen spots. Stopped by tonight for dinner. We started with tempura asparagus with a yogurt dip. Yummy. I ordered the vegan, their only vegan noodle bowl. They didn't quite get the order right based on the description on the menu. Ordered it exactly as the menu said. No changes. Once I pointed out that the tofu wasn't seared at all as the menu description stated and two of the vegetables were missing, the manager spoke to the chef. The manager apologized and brought to the table extra veggies for me. She was really nice about it. Wagyu dumplings took an extra 10 minutes. The lemon ginger tea tasted exactly like the commercial one that I use at home. It was smaller than I expected. The bowl was very filling. I took about half of it home. The wall murals are super colorful and cute! It's a bit loud in there. I found myself raising my voice to have a conversation. Not to the point of having a headache but it IS pretty loud. I'm all for supporting our local business & this place is worth the support. I was very excited to come eat my Ramen; like in my Korean dramas. Anyway, it was very good. We ordered the pork dumplings & the bao buns to start with. Presentation was very nice & taste was amazing on both. The appetizers are delish. We each ordered different dishes. I ate Ramen, of course, but the broth lacked a little flavor. It's definitely worth the visit, just be aware of where you park & be vigilant as you make your way there; lots of homeless in the area. All menu items we've tried thus far have been exceptional , I usually go for the Chile De Árbol Ramen which packs a spicy punch. Their beer selection goes great with their menu items and their cocktails are tasty. The food at Kuyashii Ramen is simple. Not the best nor the worst. Place was pretty empty but took 20 minutes to be attended and waited 45 minutes for the food. Waiter was really nice and respectful so it really didn't bother me. The design is really creative, anime paintings and vibe bring the ramen vibe to the ramen shop. Place is a little too dark as well, maybe a little more light or some color would bring the place up a bit. Pork buns were good, and the miso ramen was okay. Broth was pretty bland and was missing a bit of flavor. Price is fair, but just a little too expensive for the place, green tea is good but for the price maybe a bigger glass rather than a small whiskey glass. I have been to this restaurant twice now and both times I have had terrible service. The servers are so slow and sometimes clueless. Last night I went with my boyfriend and our friend and our server took almost 15 minutes to bring us our first round of drinks- we all ordered water. She came to the table multiple times and never refilled our drinks unless we handed her our cups. She had dirty money in her hand and my water glass in the same hand, the money touched my straw. Very innovative way to make ramen. I loved the addition of brisket, however my wife thought it wasn't "traditional". The bowl was a bit pricey as well, typically ramen is a cheap lunch food that people can purchase for a mid day meal. However, what should have been a $6 plate ended up being $9 The restaurant itself doesn't open until 5pm and is only open for 5 hours, so you're kind of limited on time if you want to experience this gem. read more

Disappointing......I waited for days to go and finally when I arrive I am met with a confusing menu. I asked what these soups mean and even then the cashier had no idea. They never came back for refills. The soup is okay the best part of the meal is the brisket. The noodles themselves have this weird whole wheat aftertaste.
