They went on to say my 2.5 year old son would first have to enroll (so money would need to be exchanged and contracts signed) and then (and only then) would he (and only he) be allowed into their business. I was informed that I would not under any circumstances be allowed through their doors: "We would show him around but you can't go in with him." This is not recommended behavior by any child care policy setting body in the US. It's sickening to think that this business actually thinks this is an acceptable way to introduce toddlers to day care. It's actually alarming and disgusting.

We LOVE TLE in Yorktown! We joined in July 2018 because our old daycare closed. The teachers have…read morebeen amazing and I feel like they are almost friends caring for my son. They keep me up to date on all his developments, and I can tell how much they care about him. The curriculum for all kids is great and is teaching them at a very young age about art, music, language, science/math, etc. My sons language and comprehension has skyrocketed because of these folks and I couldn't be happier. Keri, the director, is wonderful and very responsive. Excited to be a part of the TLE family for many years to come.

I came to this camp with my friend, looking for a fun time. And we found the staff extremely rude…read more We felt very pressured to join into activities we didn't want to. A grown man called us "lazy" for sitting down, and made us go to the art room. He was very rude and pushy. The staff take certain activities too seriously, screaming or even pushing children if they mess up. And be mind there are 5 year olds at this camp. I personally saw one councilor who made a kid cry because they sat in the wrong section. The "boss lady" would yell at kids for expressing their feelings One of the councilors would be very rude and passive aggressive shaming us if we didn't participate. The wait time for activities are also EXTREMELY long. We had to wait almost 2 hours until the next thing. And most of the time the councilors would make everyone sit on the ground. My friend and I went there for one week and I have bruises from having the sit on the HARD ASS GROUND. And lastly the boss was so rude to the councilors, one had to fake talk to kids to make sure the boss wouldn't see her sitting. Do not recommend for any age. Especially teenagers or smaller kids. Horrible environment and staff.

The camp is located inside Harriman State Park at Lake Tiorati so my kids were really away from the city in the woods. The lakefront is amazing and my boys really learned how to swim. They loved the large inflated playground in the lake! The counselors took good care of my boys and they learned so many outdoor skills--boating, fishing, sports, woodworking. They came home every day, delivered via camp bus tired and happy--what more could a mom want? Highly recommend!

I can also appreciate the engagement that they foster and how they have help to develop confidence and discipline in children as well as adults. The classes are structure to be physical to provide a fitness aspects but also fundamental in growth and learning to teach self awareness, self respect, discipline and spirit. I have been impressed by each Master, the Dojo and the participants behavior during classes. The community and camaraderie that is instilled is impressive. It is such a wholesome and conducive environment. I recently learned that UMAC offers an after school program. This is extremely beneficial to myself as a new parent in the process of adopting. Our child needed after school programs and UMAC came through big. Not only is the after school program reasonably priced, the staff picks the children up at their schools. Upon being in the program, students are helped with homework, given social skill time as well as being allowed to participate in Martial Arts classes. UMAC is beyond helpful in the community as well as being such a positive entity for children's growth and learning outside of typical schooling. I highly recommend checking out the schools and the offerings.
