I ended up not having my appointment, they wanted me to pay cash because they couldn't find my insurance information. I wasn't going to do that. So later in the day when I checked with my employer, they had their insurance agent get directly in touch with me and she had no idea what the problem was. She could find me in the system just fine, and in fact we called Burch Dental jointly to solve the the problem at 12:40 in the afternoon. Their answering service answered, and said they were on lunch from one until 2 o'clock. This was 20 minutes to one, and they didn't answer. evidently they do not take lunch from 1-2, this was 12:40. This is simply too much hassle to get a dentist when there are others that are available without this much inconvenience. I have no idea what their issue is, I'm just going to move on. I cannot recommend after this amount of problems.

It may just be me, but sometimes Dr. McNitt seems a little condescending about how I act (so what if I get a little chatty when I get nervous?), but that could also be because I'm gassed up. Professional service and courteous staff with a very clean and private facility. BUT.... my original visit was to have a oral surgeon and/or periodontist consult and estimate (which was noted to Aspen before my appt) on an implant and crown procedure recommended by my DDS. After about an half hour of several xrays, Dr Patel entered to let me know of his findings. Explained in detail the procedure and of exactly what was needed but has to wait and watch how it all heals after the tooth is removed. My extensive research before hand included the internet, my DDS and several other friends who all have had a similar operation. Dr Patel would not give me an estimate on this but was able to let me know that the 3 molars on the upper all needed crowns as they will crack soon. Now he's got my attention! " The final estimate from their finance manager for the 3 crowns was just under $8800. Will also remove the infected tooth for an additional $284. Still no mention of the implant estimate. Oh yea, I also have moderate periodontal disease but was never thoroughly discussed as the crown thing dominated the conversation. Also the reason for no estimate appears to be that the periodontist (not Dr Patel) would not be up this way again for a month due to he tours the other franchises moving from one to another to another. Really not worth the $19 trip but they were polite and timely. Its a franchise folks and they are in business to make money. Story ends with another local dental office with an "Affordable" estimate & procedure for my implant.

This was surprising, as I have always communicated with the office when rescheduling. In September, I proactively rescheduled my Motto aligner checkup because I was traveling to California for my father's 70th birthday celebration. That call was handled without issue. Unexpectedly, my trip resulted in my family and me contracting COVID-19. We were quarantined for over a week and unable to attend the scheduled celebration. Upon returning home, I notified the office that I was still ill and could not attend the appointment. Again, I was told there was no problem and that I could call later to reschedule. However, when I contacted the office in late November, I encountered extremely rude service, was informed that I had been added to a "do not schedule" list, and was accused of missing multiple appointments, including alleged "no call/no shows." This was incorrect, and despite my attempts to clarify the situation and explain that I rescheduled responsibly, I was dismissed and told I could only request same-day appointments. Today, January 13th, I called to confirm a 7:00 AM appointment, as I never received a reminder. I was informed that it had once again been canceled for the same inaccurate reason. When I asked what missed appointments were being counted against me, the responses were inconsistent and unprofessional. I was told first that I had missed five appointments, then "several," and then six -- in a condescending tone. When I pressed for clarification, the branch manager hung up on me. I want to be clear: * I have never missed or rescheduled any of my gum-treatment appointments, all of which were scheduled at 7:00 AM. * The only appointments ever rescheduled were Motto aligner checkups -- and I always called in advance. * It is impossible to have six no-call/no-show events when I have not even had six total Motto appointments at this location. * The office has canceled my appointments without notifying me and has now blocked me from continuing care due to inaccurate records. I am currently dealing with gum issues that require ongoing treatment, and I have completed my Motto aligners. I now need follow-up care and information regarding next steps, including retainers. It is unacceptable that my dental health has been jeopardized due to inaccurate scheduling records, improper documentation, and disrespectful treatment by office staff and management.

I saw Dr Samuel on Tuesday due to having severe tooth pain. She referred me to an endodontist in Rockford. The endodontist she referred me to was great and I booked an appointment for Tuesday for a root canal. Unfortunately, I just found out on Friday after hours that they are not covered under my Medicare plan. If you have ever had severe tooth pain, you know how miserable it is! Don't expect the dentists at Machesney Park Family Dental to be sympathetic about your pain. She refused to call me in anything for pain. I signed up for care through https://dentallifeline.org/, which offers Donated Dental Services for needy individuals. Donated Dental has a long waiting list, and you only receive services once. It took me several years to get to the top of the list, and Dr. Ryan volunteered his services for me. I ended up having to have two extractions, and a deep cleaning/root planing. Dr. Ryan gave me such a thorough, detailed examination, and then went over the best options for my care. I felt so at peace and at ease with him and his staff, and they were all willing to give me the time I needed to get all the information I needed. Tanya, and Dr. Ryan's office staff, gave me valuable information on how to find an affordable dental plan that I could sign up for, so that I can continue receiving care through Moore Dentistry.
