Black Sesame/Matcha Mochi Ice Cream
Hank C.

The udon noodle was great, the shrimp tempura inside was soaked already, so not crunchy but still very flavorful. The warabimochi was tasty (a little peanut-y) and the mochi - strawberry ice cream mochi was soft and tasty, the sesame was mild, and the matcha was too hard.

Staff is friendly, food is fresh, place is clean, prices are decent, you can order food from the television by your table if you don't see what you want on the conveyor belt.

Great experience all around. Very consistent Kura location. Sushi is tasty and fresh. There is a great selection to choose from. I highly recommend the salmon toro nigiri. Our server Alkira, is always so friendly and helpful which makes the experience even more enjoyable.

Woot! This was fun. And it tasted good too. Kura is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant chain. This one is located in the Garden State Plaza mall, takes reservations and isn't all that huge. I advise getting there early. We dined on a weekday and sat around 11:30 for lunch. By noon, it was full with a line. It's a really fun experience because you can eat exactly what you want. Prices are reasonable as every plate costs about $4. All plates are portioned to price depending on what you get. Toro or uni will be a single piece. Other sushis get you 2 on a plate. Some rolls have 3 pieces. There are also plates coming along that have edamame, cakes (dessert), or veggie options. You can order directly off the menu screen by your table, via the app or if you're really clueless, servers can be called to assist. Drinks and other small items you request will be delivered to your table by a robot that looks like it's from The Jetsons. Very cute. We were happy with everything we ate. Sushi was fresh, tasty, came out fast - even the special orders. Conveyor belt items get replenished quickly. Wasabi wasn't the typical powder mush. This one seemed like minced horseradish and had good kick. Even the soy sauce was potent and you didn't need much. They have a rewards program and you can sign up through the app. I already got $5 from just one visit. No credit card fees here and I highly recommend. We'll definitely be back!

Use the menu pad of off conveyor belt items to be delivered hot and fresh! Pitching of idea of using the menu pad may be counter intuitive when there is an endless supply of conveyor belt choices, but it serves two purposes here. First, you can get hot foods like the crispy chicken karaage (highly recommended) , takoyaki and yellowtail cheek, but also if you see that something is out of stock on the conveyor belt you can order it on the menu and it will be zipped on the upper track right to your table. I do love a good conveyor belt sushi experience, and there are fewer and fewer to come by, and with Kura Sushi you get a consistent dining ambiance from all the locations, and the plates are the same price on the rotation so you don't have to worry if one dish costs more than another. Other reviewers have noted the staff interaction is minimal, even with the drink robot, but they are quick to help and are super friendly leaving you to enjoy your time chatting, eating, or pondering your next sushi dish off the rotating sushi belt. This location is larger than the Fort Lee sibling, the wait is shorter, and while you wait (if you are waiting) you can stroll around the mall which is a bonus. If you have never tried conveyor belt sushi, there is no better place than Kura Sushi to give it a try.

8/11/25 Inside Garden State Plaza Been here many times. Just getting to do my review now Usually come before a movie because it's around the corner from AMC and it's quick. Everytime you get seated the staff welcomes you in Japanese. Just grab what you like from the conveyor belt or order from the touchscreen or app. We've tried almost every item they offer. And try to grab the seasonal speciality items. Some are interesting and never had before in any sushi restaurants. We had hesitated on ordering ramen, but on a cold day we tried Tonkatsu Ramen and it was not bad. The broth is definitely the standard out, it had umami. Special shout out to Ana for being friendly and helpful and have a big smile everytime we see her.

Fun interactive dinner experience. I've been to the Edison, NJ location as well. I found the Paramus location a little confusing. FYI It's in the Garden State Plaza mall, 2nd floor across from California Pizza Kitchen. Be sure to make reservations because it can get busy at times. We had fun picking a variety of foods from the conveyor belt and ordering so options as well. I enjoyed the tempura tamago (special) and vegetable hand roll. My husband enjoyed a variety of spicy tuna sushi and gyoza. Overall I'd definitely recommend for an interactive fun date night.

- Friday evening dinner: make sure to arrive early before 6p or be prepared to wait! - Minimal interaction with wait staff: place additional food/drink orders on the touch screen pad above your table and pay your bill directly whenever you're ready. - Need decent arm length to reach the pad; can be a bit straining for those with shorter limbs. - Sushi is always fresh. - Hot items and special orders zoom to you on the belt above the perpetual conveyor. - Press the tab and remove the entire dish, eat, then drop your plate into the slot. - Get a capsule ball with collectible item for every 15 plates deposited; enjoy the fun animation on the screen before your ball drops. - Always a fun experience, for both adults and kiddos! My kids shared the capsule ball and I kept the collectible charm ;)

My husband and I tried Kura Revolving Sushi Bar for the first time last Thursday. We got in before the crowd, so we were able to get a table. You're going there for the novelty of the conveyer belt and the little robot that brings you drinks. The sushi is ok. I like the variety and that you can try different things. I tried a few Kura Reserve sushi pieces, which are available for a limited time. I also placed two orders of vegetable tempura for my husband on the screen at our table. The orders zoom in on the upper conveyor belt. Next time, I would get only one order because the tempura was just ok. I ordered the wagyu sushi from the screen. One negative - I was annoyed by the bottle of soy sauce on the table. You have to keep pushing the button on it to get enough out. Also, the pickled radish on the table was a little dry (it's on the table in a black cube container). However, a major positive here is customer service. Everyone working at this location who we encountered were so friendly and welcoming, which added to our dining experience!

Conveniently located inside Garden State Plaza near AMC. Got there right at 11am so there was no wait, but by noon the place was packed. The concept is simple. Take what you want from the conveyor belt or order specific items from the screen. Quality wise it's ok. It's not going to be as good as what you'd get at a proper sushi restaurant. However, it offers quick service and an interesting experience (at least for your first time). We got 15 plates + a Kitsune Udon and it came out to $75 + tax/tips.

Just as good as any Kura Revolving Sushi Bar ... AND DEFINITELY brand spankin' new looking as of March 2025. We came by on a Friday afternoon just when they opened at 11:30AM and, to be honest, since it was a weekday I didn't expect a crazy amount of foot traffic and initially there wasn't ... BUTTTTT by around 12:15ish it was already almost at capacity. It was BY FAR the busiest restaurant in the mall and all the rave amongst passerbys as the clear glass exterior gave mall patrons a look into this unique concept of dining. Every person walking by couldn't help by stare and get glimpse of what was going on inside. Having been to a few Kura locations, including the one in Fort Lee, we were super excited that this Kura opened up right in our backyard at the Garden State Plaza Mall. If you've been to a Kura before, this one is no different, just that it's brand new, verrrrry verrrry clean and everything (seats, tables, screens, conveyor belt) is extraordinarily in mint condition (as of March 2025). This is definitely the perfect location for a Kura because of how busy the mall gets and it really grabs your attention as you walk by because the large glass windows give you a clear sight as to what the interior looks like and can persuade you to want to give the experience a whirl. As for the experience here, the waiters and waitresses were very friendly and helpful, but they don't have a whole lot to do since patrons discard their own plates. They're mostly there to guide newcomers on how it all works. The food itself was very fresh and tasty. The sushi was excellent. My ONLY knock was that the ramen we ordered was probably the least flavorful ramen we ever had. Ramen ordered at restaurants is typically overly salty, but you definitely don't have to worry here. If you order any beverages, the restaurant does have a nice surprise with a robot actually bringing the beverages to your table. It's actually pretty cool. It's very easy to get carried away and keep grabbing plates of food, but it adds up quite quickly ($3.95/plate). My advice is to make sure to pay attention to the plate tracker on your screen as you discard each empty plate into the plate feeder at your table. So far, so good. After just being open for a few weeks, the operation seemed to run very smoothly and there were no kinks whatsoever that we noticed. If you plan on dining here, do try to come here early because it WILL get packed. If the one in Fort Lee is any sign, there WILL BE long waits, but they do have an electronic check-in so you can put your name and number down and roam the mall as you wait for a table. I've read that waits are as long as 1 hour on weekends and the shortest waits (if at all) are at weekday lunchtimes. Bottom line: Other patrons seemed very happy when we were there, we were happy with our time dining here and we're definitely looking forward to bringing our kids here one day. Only reason why I'm taking one star off is because of the lackluster ramen.

Kura sushi opened their new location at Garden State Plaza 2nd floor. It's next to the CFC, Starbucks and Urban Outfitters store. The new store is modern and slick. They have a check-in kiosk in front of the entrance. After signing up, we do had to confirm with the host, which I realized 10 minutes after. After confirming, we got our table within 10 minutes of waiting. The table setup is like any other Kura location. There was the conveyer belt, ordering kiosk above, that also dispenses toys. I liked few of the conveyer items like tiger rolls, eel, waygu, edamame and shrimp. But the rice on the rolls are still not as good of a quality. I believe Kura can use much better grain of rice for the items. I do like a lot of the things from their side menu. Chicken karaage and yakitori are my favorites. I got multiple orders of them. Fried oyster was also a good new item. We ate about 18 plates all together. Each plate is around $3.95-$6.95. Overall the service was good. Our orders came out fast. Kura is always good with preparing side orders quickly. Our waters were served by the robot, that was cool. We have Kura rewards account, that earned us $5 reward for our most recent visit. Happy to see another wonderful dining option adding to GSP.

Wei H.

Newly opened Kura Sushi inside GSP 2nd floor! Convenient location and definitely busy at rush hours. Once you arrive, you put name and phone number in the kiosk. It tells you approximate wait time but I will add another 10mins. It's a smaller location compared to other Kura Sushi. We got a table maybe 20mins. It's very compacted size. You can get sushi from the revolving belt or order on the screen. Once you put in the order, the food will deliver on the top belt. They have a robot to bring cold water. If you need hot tea, actual waiters will bring it over. Minimum 15 plates to get a reward (key chain/toy). It's a cute way to encourage people to eat more? I feel they can change that to 10 plates. It's a good addition to GSP dining options. Hopefully they will last.

Upon entering, you've entered a high speed Japanese train with lights and signage surrounding you. The little train cars that bring your food are super fun, and the conveyor belt is actually filled with food. The little robots that bring you appetizers are a fun touch too! There's a great mix of both sushi and cooked food here, and each dish has such amazing flavor (which is surprising for an AYCE establishment.) I was fully expecting something to taste off or not hit the mark, but that never came. While the sushi rolls are fun, the cooked food is definitely the star. The fried rice was flavorful, meats had great sear to them and the sauces were tasty. I've never been to an all you can eat that had agedashi tofu, so it was a surprise to me seeing this on the menu! Whether you're into raw sushi or cooked meals, there's food for everyone. I fully understand why wait times are so long - we waited for 1.5 hours for an early weekend dinner. Definitely need to visit this place at least once, maybe twice, or just all the time, because the bang for your buck here is unreal!

I have been DREAMING of getting a revolving sushi location close to me in CT. A few years ago I had…read moreto drive out to Boston to find one, but now it seems there's one right in New Haven. Chidori Revolving Sushi is a New Haven go-to for me. The premise is fun: you sit somewhere in the restaurant, that location has access to a conveyer belt system that is full of sushi at all times. You can grab any plate, usually containing 2 pieces of sushi, and once you're done, you're charged by putting the plate in a slot by your seat. The plates are colored based on price ($2.58 for blue plates, usually basic rolls like a philadelphia roll or spicy tuna roll, $3.79 for red plates, the most common type, which contain the specialty rolls, and then $5.79 for black plates, which are usually slices of fish over a piece of rice and much more fish-heavy). This format lets you try out a bunch of rolls, rather than committing to just 1 or 2. This is great if you're like me and get full a bit fast but love trying as many things as possible! There is also a tablet where you can order appetizers, full rolls, drinks, and more! I tried a number of rolls, with my favorite by far being the New Haven roll, which was fried and full of jalapeños and spicy tuna. I also loved the Steelers roll, with mango and salmon, and the angry roll, which was like a philadelphia roll with smoked salmon and kani on top! I had some of the mushroom soup, which was super dissimilar to the typical clear soup with mushroom broth and was instead very very strong on the mushroom. A super thick and oily broth, it was so rich and umami it was almost hard to finish, but super delicious!! I also had the pepper tuna appetizer, which was thicker and chewier than I'm used to, but the gimmick of this place is about the conveyer belt so I didn't expect complete perfection! Finally, I had the taiyaki dessert--a SHOWSTOPPER. Delicious and perfectly fried, the red bean is scrumptious inside and the ice cream is a great touch. After 10 plates are put into their little device, you get a small gacha toy which is a cute touch! I got a little Kuromi which was fun. Overall, I love this place. I recommend it a ton. My favorite appetizer the sexy jalapeño--a spicy tuna filled and fried jalapeño! Definitely swing by and give a bunch of different sushi pieces a try. The best time to hit it is when it's busy--I went at 8pm on a saturday and it seems they had just stopped putting more sushi out, since they close at 9. This meant the sushi slowly dwindled and I didn't get to try anything different from what I saw the first go-around. But it's still worth it!

Last year I traveled to Japan and had fun with this concept so I was excited to try this place…read more It's also a fun experience in NH but way overpriced for what you get. $2.79 is the lowest priced plate and that is always 2 slices of a roll. The plates range from $2.79-$6.79 each and it adds up quickly. For what we paid total we could have had a fine dining experience in New Haven. Fun to try.
