Kuo Chi Oriental Supermarket, is situated just near the "Lion Gate," the entry to China town on Gouger Street.
On offer is a good range of fresh and packaged oriental produce, such as Chinese and other Asian vegetables, herbs and spices, various teas, noodles, frozen seafood, sauces anything else you might possibly require for Asian style home cooking.
In addition, Kuo Chi Oriental Supermarket also has a good range of crockery, such as Chinese soup spoons, chop sticks, woks and steamboats , tea pots and cups and Asian print plates and bowls which have their own decorative appeal and which lend an air of authenticity to home cooked Asian style food.
Setting itself apart from other Oriental Supermarkets around Gouger Street, Kuo Chi also stocks materials for Chinese calligraphy and painting including brushes, ink (the quality of which varies to some extent), and papers, as well as a lovely selection of Joss paper (decorative paper used in traditional Chinese religious practices) and other nick nacks craft goods.
On top of this there is also a section in the back dedicated to products associated with traditional Chinese medicine.
