She is on the advanced track and will be taking Adv Math 1 this upcoming 8th grade year. I was worried they wouldn't be able to help at that level of Math, but low and behold they do support upper level Math. My child has said she loves that they don't have homework, that she can go two days a week for one hour and feel that she is really getting what she was struggling with before. The tutors there know what they are doing and provide support, advice, tricks, and direction the entire way through, as needed or if requested. After two months she feels she is ready for Adv Alg, but wants to keep going into the school year. She hopes it continues to help as much as she believes, and that they can help with homework if she struggles if she brings it in. She has more confidence and gets excited when she closes one of the gaps they identified. Some take longer than others, but she doesn't mind. She actually says it's FUN!! The director there Gabe is phenomenal. And we have high hopes for the incoming Director Alex as well. Highly recommend!!

They truly care about their students and create an environment where kids can learn, grow, and enjoy being at school. Today was a perfect example of that. My daughter was having an especially difficult morning, and Miss Rickman met her with so much patience, kindness, and understanding. She took the time to reassure her and completely turned her morning around. By the end of the day, she came home happy and proud of herself, and as a parent, that meant more to me than I can say. I'm incredibly grateful for Miss Rickman and for all of the teachers and staff at Lighthouse who have cared for and supported my kids throughout the years. They were supportive and genuinely invested in helping students grow. Both of my daughters did well academically but neither were challenged enough despite being in exceptionally small classes. One of them consistently earned A+ grades with very little academic challenge and often felt she wasn't being pushed to reach her full potential. She also shared concerns that, on at least one occasion, a teacher provided answers or significant hints to students who had not prepared, which she felt was unfair to those who had put in the effort to study. When you pay for tuition, you expect some individualization especially in a small class size of six... My biggest concern with the educational experience was the amount of screen time. Students spent far too much time on phones during the school day. When work was completed, there seemed to be excessive time spent on phones rather than participating in additional educational or enrichment activities. Unfortunately, our experience with the administration and business side of the school was very disappointing. Communication regarding important enrollment details and policies was unclear, and when issues arose, there was very little flexibility or willingness to work with our family. It often felt like the focus was on enforcing financial agreements rather than working toward a fair resolution. The teachers deserve recognition for the care and dedication they show their students, but the school's administrative and business practices left us with a very negative overall experience.
