Unfriendly and dishonest employees. Over priced and run down. Avoid if not emergency. Will never visit again.

Cubby's has restrictions at certain times for certain reasons. if you've actually grown up in the neighborhood, as you say, you'd understand the circumstances of the clientele they deal with. They can't make exceptions for one person without opening the door for everyone to demand the same. That creates problems for example theft, drug use of the restroom second-hand smoke exposure that both employees and others or even biohazard situations which require special cleanup crews. Rules exist for a reason, unless you're the president or the pope, they apply to you the same as anyone else bottom line, follow policy, or plan ahead so you're not caught needing this restroom when it's restricted.

First thing to know, Downtown Omaha is kind of a grocery store desert - or at least that was the impression I got from my visit. We were travelling with our toddler and while I KNOW she should be 100% off bottles, we are picking our fights and she still enjoys one with her milk in the morning and in the evening. That being said, we only brought two bottles and planned on cleaning them as we went. Our only problem was we forgot dish soap. After asking the front desk where would be the easiest place to find some they recommended Cubby's and they were right! While you pay convenience store prices, it was easy to pick up what we needed and they had a few options which was nice. The store itself has a good variety of food, snacks, odds and ends, and likely serves as a little grocer for anyone who lives nearby. I wouldn't say I loved this place so much I would definitely return, but I will say it was clean, had what we needed, and was conveneint, which really was about all I could ask for in a nearby convenience store.
