I have been recommended to Harley Street Health Centre by one of my colleagues. So I booked an appointment with Dr Abood. The consult lasted an hour, and included a chat about my symptoms, when they occur, ear & nose check, blood pressure and also had blood taken. Personally, even though I am in my mid 30's,I am really scarred of the needle, but the nurse was amazing. She distracted me by keeping my mind busy chatting, while she was drawing blood. Offered me water & advised to wait for couple of minutes before I leave. The whole experience was 5*. No rushing or looking at you like you are crazy because your palms & sole is itching at night, weirdly enough. So the next day I got my results. It was not as bad as I thought. Iron & Vitamin D deficiency. Something that can be fixed easily. So glad I went to the clinic, as my nose bleeds and itchyness have been haunting me for years. I am now taking my supplements & feeling much better. Will have another blood test done probably in 3-4 months.

A number of members of my family have utilized the services of this hospital, and they have all found the nursing staff to be very caring, helpful and professional, and the facilities state of the art. Yes she does sell very expensive hearing devices. No doubt they are very good. BUT she does advise many visitors to go and use a National Health device and to go to alternative herbalists for Titannis etc....I know because I've been there. I've been there beacause like many broadcasters we need ear-fitting and devices for communication while we are on camera. Very many rock stars come to Geraldine for devices for ear protection, yet enabling them to hear the music. I was there as Sir Paul McCartney had his telling off from Geraldine! That's why she can give really impartial adice to oldsters with a problem....she doesn't need the cash. Nor does she need the advertising, I'm only putting this on the net to annoy her!

For the few occassions I need to see my GP, I can book an appointment reasonably quickly and can usually get the first appointment at 8:30am. When you enter, there is a touch screen computer on the desk where you book yourself as having arrived, and then there is an electronic board that will let you know when you are ready to see the doctor, and which room to go. The only downside is that you never see the same doctor more than twice, they change often!
