Everyone always seems upbeat despite the obvious challenges of working in a care home where several of the residents suffer from dementia. My fathers room is great - French doors opening on to a private garden with plenty of seats, plants and bird feeders. For my US friends - as I sat here this morning they can around (late coffee time) asking the residents - tea? Coffee? Sherry? Baileys? Amazing - never in the frumpy old USA would you be offered booze - but at 94 years old (like my Dad) - why not!!??
