I was approached on the telephone by a lady who wanted my 13 year old daughter to attend a modelling session, after seeing some shots my daughter had uploaded to a modeling site. As my daughter was only 13 and had never done any modelling etc, I was a little sinical. This lady reassured me that as they were not a modeling agency, the appointment would be very informative for myself and also my daughter. They would explain the ins & outs of modelling, be open with my daughter to whether they felt it was something she would be suited to, explain what modeling agencies are about, advise her to where locally she could go to get a portfolio etc .. This all sounded totally the opposite to what I would have expected and I was actually quite impressed, or maybe now thinking back became very gullible !!!The appointment was made for 26.08.13 (Bank Holiday) in Manchester (30+ Miles away), I was asked to secure my appointment with a £50 REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT, this was paid 12 days before the event 14.08.13 via paypal. I arrive with my daughter on the day/time to a packed studio, asked by the receptionist to take a seat & complete a form, then the both of us were left on a sofa without any communication for the next 2 hours. Eventually a photographer approached us and just asked us to go through the outfits and explained once the outfit was on my daughter would have her hair/makeup done and then the photos would be taken, this is exactly what happened for the following hour. I am now thinking to myself ok so the informative/guidance chat must be happening once the photos have been taken. Again we are both back seated on the sofa, surrounded by the majority of the ppl who where already in the studio before we arrived. We have now been in this place 3 hours without any real communication and I am presuming whatever is happening next all these other ppl are before us. I then approach the receptionist and ask if she thinks we will be finished within the next hour as after 4 hours I really must leave, with having other arrangements on my Bank Holiday, her face said it all. After another 40 min wait she advised me I would be seen by someone in about 10/15 mins and it would take roughly an hour for them to talk to me. Obviously I advised her this was not realistic as I really did have to leave shortly, she disappeared to return with a You can go up now and they will just spend 10 mins with you So it had gone from this chat/information would take an hour to a 10 min job !!! That in itself was enough to ring alarm bells. I kept to my side of the bargain and continued upstairs with my daughter to yet another seating area. After 5 mins I was approached to be told there was an issue with the computers and they wouldnt be able to see both of us then, would we mind waiting a bit until they could fix the pc. By this time I was beyond happy, so I was told I could make another appointment to come back and complete the session. I was then asked to sign 2 copies of a form which stated if I did not turn up for my follow up session then I would be charged a £75.00 no show fee. At this stage I have parted already with £50.00 refundable deposit, £15.00 parking charges, petrol costings, 4 hours of our time for what in return ??? As it wasnt for any form of customer service nor professionalism. I returned with my daughter the following Saturday 31.08.13 at the time allocated, to be seated in yet again the infamous seating are. We wait 15 minutes until the lady I was booked in with returns with her lunch to take me to the infamous seating area upstairs for another 15 mins. We have now been seated for 30 minutes and no information has been gained. The lady then greets me yet again with sorry about the wait, just uploading your daughters details it shouldnt be too much longer. We are eventually seated within this room that held all the informative information to be greeted with 1 lady who was just a sales person. Unfortuantely for her she was advised with all my negatives from start to finish, there would be no way I would be buying any prints etc as that wasnt what I was advised the day was about. If I wanted my daughter just to attend a glamour photo shoot I could have bought one closer to home off Groupon Living SocialSince returning home 31.08.13, I have been unable to contact anyone from Kube Studios nor the original lady of contact in Model Guides. I tried calling numerous time to either an ansaphone straight away or to the phone ringing out. I have also sent numerous emails to the gentleman who kindly accepted my deposit on paypal and to the lady who misinformed at the start, they have all been returned with a delivery report to say the email has been delivered but no personal reply from either of them !!! It is now 35 days since my REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT was paid and 23 days since we attended the actual appointment and guess what no REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT has been returned.By the previous reviews Kube Studios are great if that is what you are read more
