If you love music, this place is worth a visit. As other reviews noted, there is not much to do here per se aside from remembering (and later re-listening to) some of the world's greatest melodies that were recorded in this rather inconspicuous building: from Beatles, obviously, to Pink Floyd to Massive Attack and Radiohead and Oasis, and so many more, including Harry Styles [aka the primary reason for my teenage company]. The sidewalk nearby (yep, the "Beatles" one) is perpetually busy but once you venture to the studio, do stop by the studio store next door - they lay down the history of who's who and what's when. Was quite a trip down the memory lane for me.

The Beatles aren't really my jam, but I owed it to a few people back home to visit what is most likely the most famous recording studio in the world. Besides, anyone with a fervid attachment to at least one band will understand the significance of this place. Legends lived, breathed and created in this place. It deserves some measure of reverence. Of course, being an irreverent soul by nature, this meant I was obligated to (partially) recreate the cover of the album carrying its namesake. I made up for it by purchasing a few souvenirs in the gift shop for the Beatlemaniacs back home, and to appease the gods of music I had no doubt offended in some way.

Here's the thing, as a tourist you can't go into the studio, but to visit the place where so much history has been made is well worth it. Sign the wall, take the photo in the crosswalk, go to the Abbey Road Studios Shop right next door and take home a piece of history with you. Magic happened here.

When I came here there were no tours available and a sign posted on the gate said there would be no tours. So I took that as a no thank you and a no you're not welcome. Snap a picture or two and you can be on your way. But, shimmy your way down the sidewalk a little more and visit the gift store. At least you will be able to take home a bit of a memento that is Abbey Road-centric. I popped in and bought a few souvenirs for family back home and browsed through just about everything. Very pop culture in here and would make a great gift for someone that is a lover of music. Staff were wonderful and very helpful.

Note: There is a separate listing for just the crossing/Abbey Road. Abbey Road Studios actually provides the live webcam on the Abbey Road crossing so that's a fantastic thing the studios does. The sad is they don't have some special walk through tour of the studios and as far as I know you can just take pictures outside. I'm sure everything is completely changed and updated since the time The Beatles recorded here though. Of course, many other famous artists have also recorded at this studio. There is a restaurant at the Studios but it is not for the general public - only those recording there during the day. I would venture to say this is the most famous recording studio in the world.

Without question, the best thing at Abbey Road is standing aback from the throng of adorers, and watching the people goose step through the famous crosswalk, making sure their arms and legs are spread as far and wide as possible, so as to reenact their fave album jacket. It's so dorky! As a huge Beatles fan, I can appreciate, but it's still great to enjoy the light buffoonery. You don't actually get to tour the studios. So that sucks. It is nice to be there, and see the wall with everyone's graffiti. My brother glued an American penny to the wall some months earlier, and I found it!!!! Woohoo, treasure! The gift shop had very expected items, and I bought nothing. It was just kinda cool to be there or whatever. I think the best part was the hour long walk with my wife.

Right after the experience of crossing the most infamous road in London, it's great to walk into the Studio and peruse the history of photos, see a recreation of the original studio along with purchasing memorabilia and tchotchkes. Before you exit the Studio there's a signed photo wall of some of today's artist that is very cool to look at.

A working studio that just happens to be a landmark of British music history (pop and classical), Abbey Road was one of the very best stops on our recent tour of London. The internal studios (1 & 2) are notable for their authentically old and near-original condition Studio 2 is where the Fab 4 recorded 90% of their work, and a few of their pianos actually remain in the original state. A small effects room just off the back of studio to is like visiting a friends old basement and is where some of the best Beatles sound effects were recorded. Studio 3 is modern and actually pretty small, but not too small for artists like Pink Floyd, Frank Ocean, and Florence and the Machine. The cafe here is charming and warm, and sets tone for a great experience. I don't think private tours are offered at all, though--so I'm writing as an extremely lucky insider. A small studio store alongside of the studio (separate entrance) is worth visiting, too.

Highly recommend going here if you're a fan of the Beatles or a music lover. The actual studio is not open to the public but there is a gift shop and the famous zibra crossing right outside the door. This area of London has been my favourite. I recommend taking a stroll through Regent's Park and making your way to the studio. It's lovely on a sunny day. **

It is an institution. No, you generally cannot come inside without a reason to be there (aka recording or otherwise working there), so, sorry tourists. You can see it from the outside, however, when you go to see the famous zebra crossing. It is an honor to get to record there!

From the outside it doesn't look like much but it birthed a really great record. The studio itself is very well maintained.

You can definitely learn a fair amount technically, ( If that's all you want!) but trust me, there's about one job available for every 200 graduates. Believe me, I was at it forever, and I am noted for a pleasant, low-key, very professional attitude! There just aren't any jobs opening in today's scene, where professionals usually have home studios. Do yourself a favor: Spare yourself shelling out that kind of money, download a very nice free computer based DAW, get whatever interfaces, etc. you might need with all that cash you kept, and hip yourself to the many professional Youtube channels and videos, where I guarantee you will learn 100 times more than you ever will at anyone's scam recording school, and at your own pace at that!
