Props to KSAT for having the courage to release the tape of the Bexar County Sheriffs Office shooting a citizen with their hands in the air. Although the BCSO had tried to suppress the news, they took a stand and aired the footage. Their journalistic integrity is usually spot on, and their weather is generally on the mark. I am not a big fan of SA Live. It just seems like a lot of mindless prattle about who has the best margaritas, and what kinds of arts and crafts you can make with Fiesta medals. I often see their news with grammatical errors, and with the "click-bait" on their website- "What restaurant is trying to kill you! Click here to find out..." A bit sensational on their part, but I guess that's par for the course for San Antonio news. read more

I was hoping your newscasters would report fairly, not be biased,& report without viewers knowing their political preference. Unfortunately ,you do not report as such, with integrity. Spreister, Arthur & Stephania continue this type of bias. I was hoping I could watch honest, fair news, unlike mainstream media. I believe this type of reporting by these reporters directly influences poorly informed local voters & preys on emotions. WHAT is going on with KSAT these days? Ok, as others have pointed out, their spelling, punctuation, and grammar on their screen banners are on the level of a 3rd grader (My apologies to 3rd graders) a lot of times, but recently: --They ended their 4:30 a.m. newscast some months ago. No explanation...just ended it. CBS and NBC have continued theirs. --Weekend news--Especially on holiday weekends (including St. Patrick's Day), they run about 5 minutes of news/weather, and then go to pre-recorded "Know Your Neighborhood". First of all, that is not a "newscast". Have the TV Guide changed to reflect that it is now "Know Your Neighborhood". It IS NOT a half-hour of news. Again, NBC and CBS still have their local news. I certainly would hope I wasn't an advertiser paying for the news slot and get "Know Your Neighborhood." --Lastly, while I have always liked Ursula Pari...what the hell is going on? She used to work (strangely enough) five days a week (shock!). Now instead of the 10 slots for her (12:00 and 5:00 M-F), she MIGHT show up 4 or 5 times during that same time frame. Again, no explanation of why. If there are issues, or she wants to retire, make the change. Consistency is one of the keys to a successful local news show. Expect ad rates to drop with the decrease in viewership. Scheduling has got to be a nightmare for these newscasts, with constant shuffling to "fill in for Ursula". Fortunately, Myra Arthur is always there to step in. Oh well. I don't expect anything to come from this, but somebody has to say it. Hey KSAT! How about some explanations of the changes. They great on air people and I have recorded and watched their 10:00 news since moving here in 2001. I still watch a few minutes of local news, and most of the first weather, then I am done. The tone they set is in lock step with ABC with no deviation. I emailed and asked why there was no coverage of the Hunter Biden NY Post story, there was no response, and no story. I am hoping these people are as good as I think they are, just working for a company that hates President Trump. I am currently looking for an alternative for local news so I can cut their newscast altogether. read more

Steve Browne is the man! You know your weather guy is awesome when he never shows up covering some sidebar story about a shooting on the west side or a broken down Via bus. Steve is informative and in depth in his coverage. He backs up his forecasts with analysis of how climate change actually works in relation to the elements. Many weather bunnies may claim to be meterlololigists but I doubt they have the pedigree to back it up. Steve moved here from Cleveland many years ago and has never looked back. His rapport with the anchors and sportscasters as well as his KSAT garden and spot jump ins are priceless. I agree with no one here. KSAT is very unprofessional and I think is very cheap. Every news cast, even Fox 29, has a real back round. KSAT has a green screen making it "look good'. It does not stand out from the other news casts. Another thing is copyright. I saw them take News 4 clip from a shooting last year. Not only are they bad. But there lazy! Horrible censorship on reader comments especially regarding anything related to covid. They "deactivate content" because comments allegedly "violate community standards", but they don't tell you what those standards are. Example--a local doctor claims antibodies from having covid don't protect you from the delta variant. That plainly isn't supported by the statistics of those becoming infected. In fact, it's extraordinarily rare for a person with a previous covid infection to become infected again. Don't trust me--look up the numbers--95% of those testing positive have not been vaccinated. 98% of those hospitalized are unvaccinated. Some breakthrough infections, but rarely serious. As a healthcare provider that literally sees hundreds of patients a week, I've seen TWO recent covid infections in previously infected people. Two out of hundreds. But, KSAT doesn't want their readership to know that. Why? Who knows. read more

THEY SENT A TRACKING NUMBER ON 1/20/21 AND THE TRACKING NUMBER SHOWED IT STILL HAD NOT BEEN RECEIVED BY 1/31/2021, when my Mom called her credit card number to report the scam. I cannot believe that KSAT would replace a show in the middle of the race without any notification. Formula 1 is a worldwide event and was replaced with an infomercial at the middle of the race without any notification. This is absolutely unacceptable!!! Now I have to find another venue to watch the race with the possibility of missing the second half. This is is a good lesson for me, not to trust KSAT's programming. It is a shame that I do not tolerate. It is clear to me that KSAT programming cannot be trusted because they will not adhere to their programming as long as they can make a few more dollars. I was able go on tour with my grandsons at Channel 12, San Antonio, TX during Spring Break. I couldn't believe how accomodating everyone was, including offering photos with their staff...weather man, sportscaster, and News commentators. We were led on tour by the director of Marketing. Everywhere we went, employees stopped to describe their jobs and talk about the process of getting the news produced. WOW! to the many 'behind the scenes' people. read more

These guys crack me up every morning. The weather guy and the main anchor constantly pull pranks on each other. One morning they were having Wacky Food-Wednsdays and were eating something with chips....then during the weather report you see him hand the bag of chips to him in the middle of the report...it was priceless. read more

KSAT is always on top of things. I like the anchors and the meteorologists here at this station. I notice that Mark Austin, Leslie Mouton and Mike Osterhage like to pick on one another. Yes, they are all together working, but they manage to have some fun every now and then. It does get a little silly at times, but it's all good to me. Yes, they do have problems on occasion, but who doesn't. They have 5 meteorologists here at the station (Mike, Adam, Steve, Justin and Katie) notice how they're all in order here from weekday mornings to weekend evenings. I like this because, if one happens to be sick the others can step in and do weather. read more

I have always enjoyed KSAT since moving here 10-years ago. It is still the best, most professional news organization in the area. However, I cannot help but notice the bias in their reporting, especially in the political arena. They seem to be slipping into the national approach of repeating every negative thing they can find about the current administration. I saw none of that mess with the last administration, but now it is in vogue to repeat every tabloid news fabrication that comes along. I understand that by nature journalists are liberal, but allowing that to be so obvious now is putting KSAT in the league with CNN and NBC. Yes, this president is brash, loudmouth and obnoxious, but he deserves a fair shake just like Obama got from KSAT. I am from Laredo and am super disappointed that we can no longer have KSAT12 on our TV lineup. In my jopinion, as well as that of many here in Laredo, KSAT has the best total news coverage. Paramount is the Sports Guys and their coverage of the SPURS. Now we have no other choice but to go to ESPN and wait for coverage of our SPURS. It is very unfortunate that now we are unable to see the total KSAT12 news, weather and sports package.KSAT12 has the best professional team in South Texas. read more
