I really like Ken's 5I started watching it because their streaming app was so much better than channel 12, which pretty much glitched and never really had anything useful on it. However, recently I signed up for notifications in the app on my phone and in my notifications bar, it'll mention a story you touch. That story, it takes you to Ken's 5, and it doesn't take you to the story that you clicked on so basically you open up the app, and there's just a bunch of kens, 5 can's 5 kins, 5 kins, 5 photos. And that's it, you have to go searching for the story if you want to find it also the other day. Ken's 5 would just go on and on and on and on and on about how it was cold outside, while there was some significant news happening on their app and I couldn't get the app to stream to my T. V, so I'm sitting there stuck with my TV on Ken's 5 talking about the weather over and over and over again, while on my phone, there was very significant national breaking news. That I really, really, really wanted to watch so I don't know what the synchronizing issue is. Or I mean, don't send me a notification about a story if I can't click on it and read it. And I'm not all that technologically great but when you click on something you'd hope it would take you to the thing you clicked on. Anyway. That was just my experience recently, I've been very frustrated and Not knowing if any of the other channels are any better since that's what brought me to ken's five in the first place was the fact that they had a better app on the roku. these people like to interrupt the weather video. sometimes when I want to check the weather in San Antonio because it looks like dark clouds outside so I check the weather on this news and I try to watch what they say then, all of the sudden the screen turns black and it aways did this when there's a severe storm coming! it's so disappointing that I can't see what's happening and I also have a weather app on my phone but sometimes the app has an error and the black screen is not my tv doing it, it's there video because I rewind it and it shows it! these people are dangerous and what if there was tornado coming and you tried to check you weather app but it had an error so you had to go to the news and the screen just turns black when they try to talk about it. I'm never watching there news ever again! read more

This is regarding the Sports Section of the 10 o'clock news. The World Cup Soccer Championship is going on these days. This is a true World Cup when over 50 countries participate, the sports casters don't even mention that this huge sporting event is going on much less god forbid if they show some high lights! This is sad. very sad. If they need more minutes to cover the Sports, they should ask the Station Mngr for more time but not covering or even mentioning the World Cup is un-forgivable! The only good thing about this that has been keeping me coming back every time is certain beautiful news reporters they have here. Sarah Forgany, Niku Kazori, Sharon Ko, Savannah Louie and Audrey Castoreno. other than the occasionally interesting news reporting the goddesses of kens 5 are the main reason I watch it. I actually went to the kens 5 location on occasion. not inside just passed it by. the food catering company they were using was bringing in food for the whole news crew while other staff members of kens 5 chose to eat what they had brought on their own out on their cement benches with cement tables. when i was there the one thing I noticed the most was that almost every other business around kens 5 was closed forever and partially demolished while kens 5 stood out loud and proud. Kens 5 has more good luck than it ever deserves because this company is thriving from ratings as well as side business adventures. if it wasnt for the beautiful women here and the side adventures kens 5 would have died a long time ago. read more

The news was embarrasing yesterday...I really like Sharon Cho and you are really lucky to have her but she really bungled the plane crash.. if it wasnt on the teleprompter or what ever you call it she was lost..at one point she just stared at the camera.. luckily Stacia Willson who was doing the traffic (or weather..cant remember) jumped in and kept the ball rolling and provided some relevant insight. I am a news junkie and watch it from 430 AM until 9, then I watch Great Day SA. I am not a huge CBS fan but to me KENS 5 keeps it honest and objective unlike there corporate heads. I feel the weather forcasts are among the most accurate and the personalities very friendly and caring. read more

They've got the worst meteorologists I have ever seen! There is a new one named Marina who gets ALL of the weather icons wrong. I don't know if she's stupid or can't forecast correctly. Mostly Sunny icon and on the top it says showers. Sun at the top and has a cloudy with showers icon. There is NO chance of rain in the upcoming week after tomorrow (Sunday) but yet she has showers all through the week. Just horrible. I guess they like hiring the bottom of the barrel. Why they keep hiring idiots is beyond me. read more

Thanks for NOT running 314 covid stories per newscast like WOAI TV (they've done nothing but covid for almost 2 years now). And thanks for having believable anchors unlike KSAT who has that drama queen at 10pm, which is why I switched to the KENS 10pm newscast. I like 12's weather people and weather casts but cannot watch because of the antics of the new woman anchor (drama, drama). Roger P needs to go watch WOAI for the massive amounts of covid stories in every newscast (I'd rather see a dog murder than another covid story). And Jim M needs to get a life. read more

Rarely reports on the new AAF football team San Antonio Commanders, even though the AAF has a partnership with your parent station CBS. This week they broke attendance records at the Alamo Dome for the AAF, WON, and are in FIRST PLACE. What do they have to do for you to report on them???? Kens 5 please help San Antonio keep football! Dont be so busy covering march madness and teams not from or playing in San Antonio. No wonder we cant get an NFL team. The other local stations report about them. read more

Kens 5 is where I get my evening and late night news. The coverage is good; they give the more important stories first. Anchors are good I like Sarah Lucero and Jeff Vaugh, and how they deliver the news. With Joel Reinagel on sports and Bill Taylor with the weather you cant get better news than this. I like the investigating segment Eyewitness Wants to Know Berry Davis really helps people in community. I do miss Chris Marrou he was really funny and crazy. I gave Five stars to Kens 5; at 9o'clock there is no news in San Antonio (Channel 29). read more

The news is good, the newscast apps are good, and their weather forecasts seem to be the best in San Antonio. The info-crawls with upcoming news stories are useful. They also have news on weekend mornings and at 4PM. Major complaint would be that they (like most CBS affiliates in this part of Texas) refuse to air the full hour of Face the Nation. read more

I watch the morning "news" because it's on before CBS This Morning. The older anchor, Barry, is horrible. He might have been good at one time, but his time is over. He looks bored with the news, he doesn't have good report with the other anchors, and often reports news with bias. I don't understand why he's still anchoring the news. read more
