We'd never been to Poland before so wanted to try typical Polish dishes. Whoa! I had no idea the food was so delicious! Our wonderful and attentive waiter, Patrick, helped us decide on a few popular items. Each dish was better than the next! If we were staying longer in town, we would've visited the restaurant again. Tip: sit at one of the window tables. It makes for excellent people watching in a beautiful town square.

We said that was fine and he proceeded to seat us in a private balcony overlooking the outdoor garden tables. I had no idea why he sounded so apologetic when it was clearly an amazing located table! Later, as we were walking down the stairs, we noticed the walls were lined with photos of the owner with famous people such as Angela Merkel, the Dali Lama and many more. This was a "hidden" gem in Warsaw since it isn't near the main tourist attractions.

My drink was The Butterfly Effect and it was served in a beaker with dry ice so it looked amazing as well as refreshing. I ordered the Pulled Rib BBQ sandwich and fries while my partner ordered the steak. The steak came to the table on a lava stone still in the process of cooking on the stone. This allowed for him to cook the steak to his liking right at the table. This was fun and enjoyable. Both meals were tasty. My Pull Rib sandwich was the most flavorful and I would order it again. We also ordered an appetizer which was also delicious. Pictures of our meal are attached.

Everything was absolutely scrumptious, that I can't wait to go back there again. Portions are huge, and definitely worth the price. Well, now, if you're lookin' for a place to set your tastebuds on fire and make 'em do a two-step,…read more*Butchery and Wine* in Warsaw is where you want to be. You've got a quaint little spot that's tight but right--like the perfect pair of boots. The atmosphere? It's cozy, with a dash of refinement, where aged meats sit in their little "time machines," giving you a peek at the craftsmanship that goes into each bite. And speakin' of bites, those dumplings stuffed with oxtail? Well, I reckon you could set down your knife and fork and just grab 'em with your hands, because they're that good. A whole mess of flavor wrapped in delicate dough--pure comfort with a gourmet twist. Now, the Polish beef--well, bless its heart--aged 90 days and served with a peppercorn sauce that's a little bit regular, a little bit hard-hitting. Roasted garlic alongside it? Well, you've got yourself a party. You could say it's a flavor symphony, but I'm more inclined to call it a masterpiece, painted with a little bit of heat and a whole lot of love. And don't you dare skip the Spanish Padron peppers. They're roasted just right, bringing a bit of the Mediterranean to Warsaw. If you ask me, they're like the secret song on an album--unexpected, but the kind of flavor that sticks with you long after the meal's over. Now, if you think this place isn't impressive enough, let me tell you--this restaurant holds its own against *Casa Escobar* in Antigua, Guatemala. And that, my friend, is a mighty fine compliment. As for dessert, well, when you close out with sticky toffee pudding and a 20-year-old Graham's tawny port, it's not just dessert, it's an experience. A sweet note to end on, like a perfect evening under the stars. I'll tell you one thing: this night in Warsaw will be one I'll remember fondly--like a slow dance with a glass of something smooth and a plate of something even smoother.

The first thing you see as you entered the restaurant is bottles and bottles of wine on the shelves. I really can't tell you the overall space because I felt like I went from one room to another, pass the kitchen, through another room and was seated in a small room with about 6 or 7 tables. It's almost like a maze. I can tell most of the patron are locals. Friends meeting after work for drinks and a quick bite to eat. I know I'm in the right place :-) The menu is small and seasonal with the intention to order/taste every dish because the portion is small too. We started off with Bulion, which is a broth soup with duck dumplings. It was delicious and savory. The ginger in the broth soup warmed my stomach. It was exactly what I needed for our first night in Warsaw. According to other yelpers, we have to order the beef tartare. I'm not big on raw beef but it tasted better than I expected. The beef tartare is served on top of potato pancake. The potato sort of mellow out the raw meat taste. Great presentation! Chicken Liver Parfait served on a buttermilk bread was probably my favorite dish. I know liver is not for the faint of heart, but when it's done right, it's chef kiss! Chicken liver is incredibly good for us and a nutrient-dense superfood packed with protein and vitamins. I wish I can see more dishes like this served in the states. Foie Gras sales and production is strictly restricted in most states. We just have to try it whenever we are in Europe. YOLO! It's rich and buttery and served on a even more buttery brioche. Very filling. Skrei was a fish dish that we should of skipped. It was served on a big pile of foam and herbs with very little fish (see pic.). It's something I expect at a high end 13 course tasting menu, not at a wine bar. We each had a glass of Badenhorst Family White Wine. It wasn't the best I had but it works for the occasion.
