The trails are tranquil and vary in difficulty from easy to somewhat hard. Along the way there are plenty of opportunities to watch the animal life of the area and capture them in photographs. There a plenty of benches and little nooks where to rest along the way, some good enough to enjoy a picnic! Besides hiking this park offers all kinds of amenities such as camping- (all, including glamping), biciclying, horseback riding, fishing, and canoe/kayak launching. There is a historical fort and grounds within but currently close for renovations, (I believe it is scheduled to open in November). At Hillsborough River State Park there is plenty to do to enjoy a great day outdoors!

Wonderful boardwalk path, a great paved path, and we even hiked on the Cross Seminole trail. The river and dock were beautiful, but we didn't put our kayaks in since the current looked pretty strong. The camping looks really nice and the RV sites were large and had electric. Would like to come back and camp there. The park, paths, bathrooms, playgrounds were well maintained. Kudos to the people working there for providing such a beautiful place!

I was visiting Dade City on a gorgeous day and couldn't bear to eat lunch inside so this was my picnic spot and it was glorious. There was no fee or donation box; however there may be one for camping facilities so do your research beforehand. Highly recommend. Note: No swimming allowed in the river.

First time to McIntosh Preserve today but not the last time. This is a small preserve in Plant City…read morewith a parking lot off of Knights Griffin rd. The preserve is open sunrise to sunset and dogs are allowed. The trails are well maintained crushed shell and rocks and should be ADA accessible. I did not notice any bathroom facilities. There are benches along the trails. We arrived late and only walked the linear blue trail so I am eager to return and see the rest of the preserve including the observation tower. Lots of beautiful birds calling, very peaceful. Near the parking there is an open park setting with some picnic tables. The blue trail starts out very sunny but makes it way across and open pastoral setting to a nice shaded area. Would definitely recommend sunscreen and water if you're there in the middle of the day :)

This meant that on hot summer days we could play without overheating quickly. Recently my visits have been to the softball fields and not to the park. Before Covid shit everything down, they appeared to be in the process of updating it. During the winter and early spring I participate in a softball league that plays at the fields located at the back of this complex. The fields are always well maintained and ready to go when we show up to play. Only once or twice in my four years playing has something happened that caused a delay. The manager of the fields was there and was able to quickly rectify it. The complex also features a skate park, a dog park, and soccer fields. They also have large mixed use fields located under the lights.

We met here Saturday morning to join an existing group of Pickleball players. I arrived early so I drove around the park first. The place is very large and seems to have every type of field you can imagine. There is also plenty of parking which I love. I decided to walk on one of their walking trails, which took a nice route around the pond, and near some of the fields. The weather was cool the day I was there and it was lovely, but there didn't seem to be many shade trees near the path, so it might be too hot to walk here in the summer. I finally went inside the recreation center to meet my friends for Pickleball. There is a group that meets here every Saturday morning, and you just rotate in and out of playing. Most of the people were very welcoming and helpful towards the beginners (me and my friends), and we really had a great time. At first only 3 courts were available for use, but then 3 more opened up. If you are interested in getting involved in the sport, this is a great spot to start.
