Very cute cafe in picturesque Fulton was perfect for a lunch pit stop on the drive to Galena. Lots of delicious sounding choices on the menu and we later found out that all the breads are baked fresh there using grains produced by the windmill on the river, very cool! I tried the Chicken Salad Salad which is a hefty scoop of delicious creamy chicken salad with plenty of celery on top of mixed greens, cranberries, almonds, (a lot of) cheese and topped with balsamic vinaigrette. There was enough chicken salad to make a sandwich using the biscuit that came with the salad. Super filling. My date tried a wrap with a side of potato salad and thought it was very good too. Our server was a crafty one and got us to order pie when our main dishes arrived so we couldn't opt out as we stuffed ourselves, smart lady! :) The lemon meringue was outstanding but the coconut was a little too sweet and the crust was a lot soggier than the lemons. Still good, but not as good as the lemon. There were sooo many delicious looking items in the bakery case, I wish I had taken some to-go! read more

What a hidden gem. The place is like a small bistro with a wonderful selections of desserts at the bakery. Desserts include homemade pies, cakes, cookies, rolls and more. I ordered the Rueben came on two pieces of round rye bread. There was a good portion of "real" corn beef and the homemade dressing comes on the side. The dressing was the best I've ever had. My fiancé and I just stopped in for breakfast yesterday. It was my first time, despite being familiar with them for years. The atmosphere alone was wonderful, but the food was as enjoyable. The cost wasn't anything too terrible and their dessert selection was extremely enticing. The staff treated us as if we were good friends of theirs that they truly wanted to help and take care of. It's great to see gems like this in my general area. We'll definitely be returning, semi-regularly. read more

I was in Fulton for the first time today with my daughter...she had been to Krumpets a few weeks previous and bragged about how good it was...especially the bread pudding with sauce...she knows I love bread pudding and Krumpets is the best I have ever eaten...the downside....they are close to 100 miles from where I live!!! But, since I will be back to the lovely little town for further health issues help, I will be returning to Krumpets...YEAH. read more
