This CVS store #3515, has probably one of the least compassionate pharmacists I have ever had the…read moremisfortunate of dealing with. Recently a prescription was sent over by my physician on a Friday. I never received a call informing me my prescription was ready for pickup, so I called today, Monday 5/2/22, and was told it could not be filled. Why was I not notified about this so I could have addressed it earlier? Someone from CVS could have called me Friday afternoon or Saturday or even Sunday, but not one person in the pharmacy had the professionalism to let me know my prescription could not (more like would not) be filled. The phone encounter with the pharmacist on duty today was a terrible experience. She was "the only" pharmacist on duty and I could not speak to anyone else nor get a different store pharmacist to fill my prescription. It actually felt like I was being grilled by the secret police. This necessary prescription had previously been filled at this CVS multiple times with no issue, but for some reason, the female pharmacist today was not being very compassionate, nor was she providing a good customer experience. I would definitely say that if you have a prescription that is life or death, which this medication is, especially when you are having an angina attack, don't get it filled at this CVS location!!! Even if the price is more affordable, what good does it do if the pharmacist decides to play God and deny your medication order? I asked to speak to a supervisor but was told she didn't have one. Must be great to work in a healthcare business with no supervisor. Never in my life have I worked without someone supervising me. This pharmacist told me to call 1-800-Shop-CVS to get the information I requested about the head pharmacist, which I did. Um, wrong number pharmacy lady. That number is for extra care credits and stuff. I was politely transferred to the Corporate Pharmacy. The lack of enough licensed pharmacists in this store should never be an excuse for such rotten treatment. My prescription may not be but a drop in the bucket towards the profits CVS makes, but word of mouth is worth a whole lot more. Even after intervention by my personal care provider as the pharmacist wanted, she still refused to fill my prescription. Bye-bye CVS. I will never recommend this store pharmacy to anyone. The store itself is great, but not for important life-saving medications. Someone in the pharmacy needs training on dealing with upset customers to ease tensions and to actually hear what they are saying. When you've been recceiving your prescription there for quite some time with not one issue, I don't understand why today turned into WWIII and I never was able to get my prescription. Boo-hisss

My relationship with CVS goes way back in years to when I was young, living in Boston,…read moreMassachusetts and my car broke down in the middle of the highway, at a time cellphones didn't exist. I had no idea what to do and suddenly I look through my rear view mirror and see a CVS Samaritan Van here to provide help and relief to a driver in need of roadside assistance. You don't know the feeling of relief that I felt at that moment. Since then I have been a customer of CVS and when I moved here to Roanoke, I choose the CVS in Towers as my pharmacy of choice. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new businesses and restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And the CVS Pharmacy in Towers in Roanoke, Virginia, is the perfect example. Open seven days a week until 12 midnight, conveniently located, with a nice size parking and a drive through window, these are some of the reasons why I choose this pharmacy, but like me there are many others who shop here and it tends to be very busy. Bust just like in the restaurant business, it is the very busy ones who tend to be the best ones. But everytime I've visited this pharmacy, included today, the pharmacists seem to be very busy, yet if I waited in line, they have always have had the time not only to deliver my medicine, but they have had time to listen to my needs and help with whatever they could. And I appreciate this very much since my mother was a Pharmacist for 50 years and worked as the Head Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager in the Oldest running Pharmacy in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, having passed the Pharmacy Boards of Florida and Massachusetts as well. For the first time I was having a Colonoscopy done as a preventive measure and the specialist doing the procedure had the medicines that I would need to prepare for this sent to this Pharmacy. When I went to pick them up I found out that my insurance didn't cover them, so after noticing there cost I asked if they had any plan that could help me lower the cost a bit. The pharmacist taking care of me brought the medicines to the "Consultation" counter and asked me to wait there. There, almost immediately the Head Pharmacist, came to see me and was able to use a card or plan they have for this, making the cost of the medicines more reasonable. I just had to wait in the waiting area for the Pharmacist to process the transaction. I thanked her immensely and mentioned to her about how my deceased mother Pharmacist would have been very proud of her. This Pharmacy may have many advantages, but their primary one is their people, their pharmacists, who work in a very caring profession, and do their work well. For I find that people don't mind how much you know and how many degrees you have, as much as that you care.
