I am a Lynchburg, VA native and an 03 residential native, but moved to a culturally inclusive environment and lived there for 25 years. I am very close to retiring, and I moved back to this punitive little patchouli town. When I visited Lynchburg during the holidays from 1993-2015, I would always visit this store and loved it. However, for the past two years, the store is progressively on the decline as far as food products, and ESPECIALLY, the customer service. I did not know that Lynchburg, VA was STILL culturally biased against northerners and bi-racials, so no matter where I go in the city of Lynchburg, I can expect to be treated like a cockroach. It is a shame that I have to travel nearly to ANOTHER CITY to get groceries. I have spoken to a plethora of people who claim they also drive to Timberlake or Forest because the Boonsboro Kroger's service has declined progressively. DO NOT purchase the seafood. On two separate occasions, I suffered food poisoning and had to be hospitalized. Additionally, the floor is nasty and filled with sticky substances. The produce is often rotten or wilted. Frozen and expired items are still shelved. I purchased a bag of frozen edamame and when I opened the bag, the entire bag was filled with mold. On another occasion, frozen waffles with an expiration date of June 3, 2014 was still on the shelf! Adding insult to injury, I run into the same type of prejudicial opposition because I am classified as "too bougie", or, I'm not the right shade, or, I'm supposed to be ashamed because I'm bi-racial. I make NO apologies. The females employed in the store are rude, and it is a shame that you have to search for a friendly face at the check-out line and be "punished" for being light-skinned. As much money as we have spent at that store, these females need to Vulcanize their emotions and stop punishing people who pay their salaries. To make matters even worse, elderly people have to trot out to the parking lot to obtain a shopping cart. I am nearly 60 years of age, and when I visit this store, all I can see are the whites of the eyes of the females who are rolling their eyeballs at me. There are more important people on this earth than myself, people! Get a grip, or, better yet, engage a therapist to deal with your poor self-esteem issues. Having to drive to another Kroger location in another city is stressful and costly. Folks, if the items are expired by two years, remove the items from the shelf. Clean up the nasty and sticky floors. Stop putting rotting produce on the shelves. Stop leaving the fish out all day, to return it to the back at night and put the same rancid fish out the next day. Place only a few pieces out; thereby retaining the freshness of the remaining seafood. If people are not purchasing meat, do not reduce it after it has already rotted. If your employees are too lazy to put the carts back into the store, shut the store down. If your female employees have issues with females who don't "fit" the cultural norm, notify me and I'll wear a bag on my face when shopping so they won't be inundated with hate and psychological disorders.
