Iris did above and beyond customer service...we made a mistake on how we explained how to decorate the birthday cake... She stopped what she was doing to fix it... To our surprise she did an amazing job job...This cake is for our five year old niece she loved the cake.. Full and fair disclosure is that I am not a fan of Kroger but fair is fair. My wife was hankering for chicken, NO she is not pregnant!!! Refer to Sarah for you Biblical scholars. So off I went to Walmart to get their 8 assorted chicken pieces at their deli. Please note it was 1pm lunch time and they had none. They AND my wife forced me to order from Kroger. Their delivery was fast and the chicken was hot, fresh and juicy. I was definitely super impressed. I posted a picture of the package (with missing pieces, I couldn't help myself). $8.99 for 2 pounds. Not a bad price to satisfy a hankering, hangry wife. Roger keeps telling me this store is expensive. I'm like, K, Roger, whatever. Excellent grocery store in La Porte which is expensive (Roger is right), but this area doesn't have that many shopping options as it's a little bit remote compared to some of the Houston suburbs and so it's nice to have a big clunky chain grocery store open all the time. read more

This store was a open 24/7 which is convenient for shift workers. They have a really nice selection produce. The cheese selection in the deli area is awesome. It usually clean and the staff is always friendly. I took a star away because they now charge you 50 cents I you want cash back. Bad idea which will have me going elsewhere. Cash back is a reason I often go here to grab a few items. read more

They have everything you could Possibly want and I frequently use their floral department and gas station as well. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is their prices are on the high end of local competitors. I'm glad they are here and frequent them weekly. read more

I went for roses only. I wasn't asked if I need any help then someone else came and he was asked so that was rude. She went to the back and got the man fresh flowers but I had to choose out of broken stems and roses torn off the stem and tucked in the middle like they were still good. I bought a few different roses and fixed them up at home. So I saved my own day. Thanks lady in floral for nothing. 5 stars for Starbucks inside the store! read more

Well, Here we are. It looks like HEB has finally put the last nail in the coffin for Kroger. At least here in La Porte, TX. anyway. Long story short... I spent the greater part of my time this trip walking around the store looking for an employee while listening to the manager over the intercom system calling for his employees like he was begging them to return to their work areas. I never did find anyone to help me find what I was looking for. Once I arrived at the checkout area I was disappointed to see that there were only two registers open and they both had several other customers with their weekly shopping lined up. When I approached the Under 15 item line I was curtly told that she was closed. But wait, what about the self checkout lines that have infested grocery and hardware stores? Here we go, 1. I dint like them and believe that they are a cop out for actual customer service. 2. half of them were out of order. 3. There were more people with a weeks worth of groceries checking out in the self checkout lines. So, I left my hand basket with my fifteen items sitting right there in the middle of the floor, never to return. Why anyone would want to patronize this store when HEB has done such a good job right down the road is beyond me... read more

I'm not sure why I come here any more, other than convenience. Although this store did improve knowing HEB was coming to LP/DP, they still fall short most of the time. Fresh fruit and vegetables are rarely stocked, organic milk seems to be a special request item, your frozen items will thaw while you wait in line, and the store associates seem to hate their jobs and the customers. I'll drive from Shoreacres to the HEB in LP/DP just to avoid this mess from now on. Don't forget your Kroger card! read more

I've live in La Porte for 10 plus years. I have never liked Kroger. The people working in Kroger are NOT happy and the produce and selection a pitiful. Drive to HEB down the street! It is worth the drive even if only for one item!!! read more

Very dirty. Wayyy understaffed BUT a nice group of flies kept us company in the fruit section. When we went to check out only self check out! One guy working up there name was Gehrig BUSTING HIS ASS to get the lines moving. But with people getting a weeks worth of food it wasn't working out to well. Props to that guy but he shouldn't be put in that situation by the time we checked out they had a nice line of very happy costumers behind us.. we will be driving an extra 25 minutes in either direction to make sure we don't get the same experience at a different Kroger read more

I'm not sure how they have so few stars but this place has always been very clean and convenient for my family. Decent selection, good sales. They could do better cart control but the employees are friendly and helpful and you can find them. read more

While great on large amount of manager markdowns any other Kroger promotion or coupons will not apply. Also frequently will not have the items where there is a current Kroger coupon or ecoupon. read more

This is sad, I have been in LP for years and while they improved for while when the new HEB was going in, Kroger has given up. Produce is HORRIBLE, meat section is in attended and tonight we bought salmon after waiting 20 mins to get help, un edible . We had to toss it . This is unacceptable for a regional grocer .
