Still recommending this Kroger store. No issues there. BUT - rude surprise on the Home Chef, prepared foods, front. Superb, so helpful idea. You can have them delivered or purchase in store (added benefit of selection if you have finicky appetites to consider). BUT - check out my pictures. Check the SODIUM content of the Home Chef meals. Darn. Really rude surprise. This amount of sodium is not good for anyone. Having tried several delivery services, there seem to be two problematic options there: (1) excess, ungodly amounts of sodium or (2) dry ice and lots of packaging which is, much of the time, not necessarily environmentally friendly. (Multiply by weekly deliveries.) So, do NOT recommend Home Chef prepared meals any longer. Still like this Kroger store a lot. read more

Worst Kroger in the area. Starbucks always says it's open but no one to run it. The manager is a professional psychopath and the store has by far the rudest workers I have ever come across. Save your time and go to ANY of the other Kroger stores and your experience will be better. read more

I was shocked at the amount of trash in this store's parking lot. I'm talking full household bags of garbage. The nonchalant attitude of the employee to whom I brought up issue with was appalling. It makes me no longer want to patronize this company. read more

Grand Re-Opening? Nothing grand about it, unless understaffed, no human checkout and a manager who leaves the store unattended to go to dinner (8/31, 630pm) is considered grand! Shop elsewhere read more

twice i have been to kroger at poplar and kirby and the power has been off in the deli and vegetable and meat areas. Stay away until they can show they can keep the power on. Food could be spoiling!! read more

Kroger Food Stores - Lights/power out in refrigerated sections. - Grocery Near Me - Memphis, Tennessee

Awful service in a dirty store. There are too many grocery stores in this area to waste your time at this one.

The pharmacy is efficiently run. Got a booster virus vaccine and a high dose flu shot. Courtney administered my shots. Sweet, cute and pleasant young lady. One thing about Kroger stores that carry Boars Head cold cuts..... they don't carry the same types. No pickle loaf or olive loaf. Had to make another stop at the Union store which has the WORST parking lot known to man. read more

False advertising. Can cokes sale that ends tomorrow they would not honor it nor would they ask anyone! Won't be back. I don't shop with known scammers. read more

I have been real hard on Kroger lately as I feel the limited competition has made them stop caring about the customers. I still believe that and can see it in most of my visits to a Kroger. This Kroger is currently one of the better ones. The produce section is rather nice and the produce looked fresh and was arranged well. I would have liked to have seen a wider variety of fresh mushrooms in the bulk section. Other than that, they had a wide variety of really good looking produced and were actively cleaning and sorting while I was there. The employees were all very nice and polite, but the checkers were a bit slow. Nice, but slow. Also, like all the other Kroger's, they could clean the floors a lot better. Some of them are stained, but they still need a much better cleaning. read more

The employee who assisted me with self checkout was wearing her mask hanging down under her chin. A few days ago I was in the same store, and two employees were wearing their masks incorrectly. Do not shop in this store if you are worried about catching COVID. Management obviously does not enforce this important health requirement. read more

Good products & price. The new checkout option is cool & fast, don't have to wait in the line. Recent reorganization is looking much better now. read more

I stopped at this Kroger's because of expediency. There Jewish Film Festival location was up the street and I was running late from a baby shower to the theater and I stopped here to get a bite to eat. I ended up getting Sushi for around $10 (did notice there was a $5 great deal on sushi on Wednesday, but alas, I went on a Saturday). I also love the Kroger brand brown rice cakes and stopped by to pick it up on aisle 11. Compared to the Collierville Kroger's (which is my local), this one walks smaller but its compactness meant I found things quicker - also all the essential grocery items were there, but just count/ quantity was maybe not as massive at other stores. Overall, it was a good visit - I found what I wanted, and was in and out quickly. Yelp Review: 8/2017 read more

I am dedicating my first review in 2013 to a grocery store, a Kroger, no less; I know what you are thinking. Something along the lines of "oh yeah, way to go", of course. I was in the Kirby and Poplar neighborhood one evening and had half an hour to kill before my appointment. While cool people may choose to kill their time by having some cool drinks at some cool places, I decided to check out Kroger. Neighborhood grocery stores are of interest to me because what's in store gives me a feel of the neighborhood, the ethnic makeup, dietary habits, and income level, etc. I found this store clean, spacious and well-stocked. One thing that stood out was the sizeable kosher section which probably beats most other Krogers in town. Well, it shouldn't come as a surprise since the Memphis Jewish Community Center is just right around the corner. I was pleasantly surprised to see Challah bread and Chipsticks from Ricki's Cookie Corner on the shelf. I read about the local bakery on Yelp but didn't know this neighborhood Kroger carries their products. I brought a loaf of Challah and a box of Chipsticks home. The Chipsticks were not bad, but the star was the Challah: it made a mighty fine French toast and I honestly don't know if I would have French toast any other way from now on. It probably makes a mean bread pudding too. I plan to make a trip to Ricki's on Park Ave. soon just to find out how much better their bread can get when fresh out of the oven. The cheese bar looked pretty impressive but the same can't be said about the cuties. What they had seemed to be the last few bags from an old batch and too long removed from the citrus groves in Cali. I will drop by when I find myself in the area again. read more

We'll laid out with nice selection of food, however this place is loaded with employees standing around talking while customers are forced to bag their own groceries on most aisles. For a nice clean Kroger in a nice area, managers have done a great job of staffing with slow, lazy workers. read more

We're living in this area of Memphis temporarily, and for now, this is our corner store. For comparison, we used to live near the Germantown/Dexter Kroger in Cordova. That one is crowded and the aisles seem tight even after the renovations (if you go 4:30-6:30 pm on a weekday, it's NOT good---be prepared to say "excuse me" over and over on a repeating loop). Also, the cashiers would sometimes forget to hand you one of your bags (my husband and I refer to this as "being Krogered"). So...at this Kirby/Poplar location, parking is not great, but the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, and the produce section and deli seem good. It does not feel overcrowded. There are nice cheeses. Lines are generally manageable. Wine section is a wine section. All in all, I recommend it! read more

Boxed and canned goods are constant. Unless the selection is atrocious, it's improper to judge a grocery store on this. Fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as the prepared food counters in the back are the real mark of a grocery store. The vegetable selection... not so good. Not so fresh. There wasn't a red pepper that I liked in the store. The yellow pepper ended up being fine, but still. I wanted red! Also, the chorizo "selection" A. wasn't good, and B. the one I did end up using was sub-par. For a metropolitan area that seems to be going through a little bit of a Mexican food craze, decent chorizo seems like a must. read more

Do not use this Kroger at 6660 Poplar for Curbside Pickup. My order was scheduled for pick up Saturday. I received a call that it wouldn't be ready. On Monday I had to call to check on it and was told it was ready. We agreed on a 5:00 pickup. I waited for 2 1/2 hours, called twice being told it was being pulled together, tried to call the store manager, and no one answered the store's phone. I left. Several people were all waiting with no one bringing out deliveries or explaining the delays. Horrible service. read more

This location is both convenient and well stocked. I enjoy coming here on the "off-times" like weeknights when it's less crowded. They have a nice deli area and well stocked produce section. Their meat department is great and you can't beat their Manager's Special meat section where there are great deals to be had!! It's Kroger. Pretty run of the mill but it's nice. Wish Memphis had more large grocery chains like Publix. read more

The location at 6660 poplar Parkway is Trash. Not only do they close their doors 10 mins earlly but you had employees walking with no type of name badge on, right in front of me and saying nothing to the effect of where closed. Last time I checked the closing time on the door is not a suggestion but a fact of when the store. Who ever the woman that was running self check out late that night is very rude and lazy. She should be demoted to stocking schelves, she has no business working with the public. And that's the Kroget at 6660 poplar ave, memphis TN 38138. I see why people shop at Whole Foods, Farmers Market, etc..... its about the courtesyism and professional z which this location is severely lacking, if you that ready to go home as management to change your hours to closing at 10:30. This is a poor representation of a grocery store chain that usually cares about their customers, I guess things have changed. I might as well shop at Walmart at least they don't close the doors on you earlly. read more

Parking is a nightmare but it has a larger selection inside than my Kirby/Quince Kroger

This has to be the worst Kroger in the entire United States of America. You can assume that about 99.9% of the time they will be out of half the items you are looking for. read more

Never buy flowers in that place, they will only last beautiful the day you buy them. Yesterday we bought a nice bouquet and by the next morning this was far from being the same. When we changed the water we noticed that most of the flowers were quite old and battered, had a rose button with no stem hidden there, stems without flowers and flowers with stems quite damaged. Lately the flowers in this store only lasted a day or two. Do not waste your money read more

Not happy with Kroger in Memphis for not requiring face masks for customers AND NOT ENFORCING the requirement for employees during the COVID ordeal. I have seen many Kroger employees with masks not covering mouth and/or nose. Wearing a mask is new and not fun - I get that. If one needs a mask break, take it outside. I respect competitive grocery stores for including customers in the mask rule for the benefit of their employees and the community. It makes me appreciate that those stores probably follow other preventive guidelines too. Because there are many inconsiderate people who refuse to wear masks at the strong suggestion of medical experts, the requirement is the only way to make it happen. Some people argue that a mask only protects other people - which is reason enough to wear one for me. Actually a mask protects the wearer too. Even if not an N-95 mask, if there are viral droplets in the air, wouldn't you rather have some type of barrier vs none? Kroger, you've lost my business. read more

Click List at this location is the worst. They can't seem to get the orders correct. I placed my order and I show up at my time and I am told to come back the next day. I had to ask several times what time the next day should I show up. I come the next day the that time and they still didn't have my order ready. I waited after calling the number for 30 minutes and my order was still not out and 5 other car that came after me go their orders and left. I call back and she tells me they are working on it. She promptly comes out with 3 items and says that is all they had. I walk in and I see stuff I ordered on the shelves. I go to customer service and the manager says my order was "probably filled last night and the stuff wasn't on the shelves at that time" When I say I see my stuff on the shelves she says that came on a truck last night and that is why I didn't get it. So I have questions. Why did it take 30 minutes to bring me my 3 items that were filled last night and they seemed to get everyone order out on time? Why did I get someone's Pepsi and Coke that I didn't order? They forgot about me and grabbed some stuff and wanted me to be happy and leave. This is the second time this has happed and I see that is the way they do things at this location. Basically I had a large order and they didn't feel like doing it. read more

I'm writing in regards to the bakery. Don't ever order a cake here. Was supposed to pick up my boyfriend's cake at noon and it wasn't ready at noon. Came back at 3 and it was still not ready. They weren't even apologetic. Terrible terrible! read more

This store looked very old and was becoming ghetto until it was renovated and expanded in early 2009. Now it has a much larger selection and is much nicer and newer. However, the same can't be said about the service. The cashiers in this store have a smart mouth about anything. They will try to get smart with you no matter what the situation. They will argue you down about a price or the product if you don't stop them in their tracks. The customer service people are just as rude to the customers as well. They have attitudes from the time they walk through the door til you leave and don't see them anymore. I spoke with the management about it but the manager Sharon is also a rude person to deal with all when you have a problem and does nothing. However, I love the cheese bar and sushi, but I will only come to this store if I absolutely have to. I will continue to drive further from my house to do my grocery shopping rather than go to this store. If you know whats best for you,and don't want any altercations I would advise not to go to this store. read more
