Kroger - Grocery Near Me - Baytown, Texas

I had an extremely rude experience with a cashier last week. In addition, there was a male witness that was bagging my groceries, and the manager had to step in to assist. The issue was the cashier did not ask for my phone number to active the coupons. I received a call from 281 422 8251, and a male stated he was the manager. When he called, he stated he had to hear the story from the customer (me) to determine if Kroger should apologize. It was such a strange response the call did not continue. I am also really questioning if this was a Kroger manager because he was so rude. Horrible customer service. read more

I have never left a review for any place, let alone a bad review ever in my life, but i feel the need to speak on this. While i love this kroger, mostly have had good experiences with the staff, the cashier today was one of the rudest i've ever had the displeasure of being checked out with. I'll give it to her, maybe it was a bad day, maybe she was supposed to be off shift a while ago, but no matter the reason I don't think anything gives a worker the right to be downright rude to a customer. Trust me, I work in the service industry, but no matter how tired or upset i was at something else have i treated any of my guests like that. Michelle was her name, and there were four customers in line. The first in line was an elderly man, with a scooter type cart, and he had stood up to check out. Once his total was given he was asked for a kroger's account or number. After he gave his number, she told him his total, but he didn't hear correctly so he redid the last 4 of his number. She said "i already got that, your total is ---". he in a joking yet kind of serious way said "are you mad at me" she said "no i'm doing my job and telling you your total" in a nasty tone he said okay and that interaction was finished. the next two ladies (together) in line even turned around after that and looked at me saying "well she just really took it out on him huh" and i responded "yeah it was pretty rude". she was huffing and puffing checking them out, and had to go get change. when she asked another employee for help and the other employee said something along the lines of "why is your register still open" she responded "because it's like every time i move more people want to show up". excuse us for having more than 10 items and not wanting to hold up the self checkout, not even mentioning the fact that she is the only register open. the two ladies in front could tell she was getting upset and said "if you want to hand me the scanner i can scan this 12 pack" where she responded "no i got it." lastly, me. i had a handheld cart so i just put it on the slidey thing for her to grab items out of, where she grabbed the first two items then dumped the rest out. didn't speak to me the entire time until it was time for my number and total. anyways, all this to say she needs to work on her customer service or be put somewhere she doesn't interact with guests if that's how she's going to treat them. me and the two ladies can take it, but yelling at an elderly for no reason other than yourself being upset is incredibly inappropriate and uncalled for behavior. read more

Bakery Department And who said "Old Fashion Customer Service" was dead? I recently ordered a Birthday Cake with a BLACK PANTHER theme. The ordering was easy. The scheduling was made within a few minutes on a late afternoon on monday, and off I went home. I was picking up the cake on Wednesday morning. The following day, I received a phone call there was a discrepancy with the chosen decorative topping I chose ( there were two options). No problem, I'll go with the other one, i was okay with it but not excited about the decision. A few hours later I received another call, it was the same lady from the prior call, she was so lovely. She told me she understood the importance of a festive birthday cake and she and her staffed looked for a better Black Panther decorative option and found one! They saved the day!! The demeanor of the communication from the Bakery Deptartment was genuine and eager to please. The cake was so delicious. And the Black Panther decorations rocked! read more

For years, I've been trying to really understand why Kroger is so much more expensive than most other grocers. This one especially doesn't make sense as I usually go to Kroger for hard to find flavors, ingredients, and varieties of common products. However, this store doesn't even carry that stuff. On top of which, the parking sucks! However, this is the only Baytown location that has gas. I never spend enough to earn gas points, but those who do keep the pumps working. read more

I take back my review. Went again at midnight people in line and some uneducated employee *chaz * could not open the register to ring people out. I watched 5 people walk out without paying for their groceries because he let them go because he got frustrated and could not open the register and the security guard stood and watched. He said there was no manager on duty and that should be illegal, Krogers open 24 hours and nobody knows what there doing. I waited in line for 20 minutes and finally left how can there be no manager on duty I want my 20 minutes of life back. If you're Krogers and reading this please message me I would like to discuss this issue with you. I almost called the police on this location due to the theft I witnessed. Warning do not shop at this Krogers ever Will be contacting corporate and expressing my concerns tommorow. read more

Apparently the employees do not think it's their job to clean out the garbage nasty customers leave behind in the shopping carts. This is a poorly designed store with a horrible parking lot. read more

I asked why half the employees (Garth Rd, Baytown, TX) were not wearing masks. I was told that some have health problems that preclude their use. Things such as anxiety attacks. Now if there were only one or two employees making such a claim, I MIGHT believe that they had a legitimate reason. But half the sackers, who were all young people? No, I don't believe that. Just an excuse. And if they can't abide a snug-fitting mask, they could wear a shield. They lack respect for their customers. Their refusal to wear a mask may cause another human being to wind up on a ventilator. Such ignorance and selfishness. read more

I went to make a few purchases for the day. As i was in line one of the manager let everyone know that their system was down . No cards, only cash . I was so frustrated and had a few very necessary items for breakfast. I left the cart and grabbed two small items the manager saw i was really sad more than anything.he approached us and proceeded to to donate$20.00. To make my purchases. His name was Andrew. I wish there was more Andrews in this life. I was so touched by his act of kindness. I cried because it drew tears in me and my lil one were soooo greatful. Without that lil help. I would've not had breakfast. Thank you Andrew. You have a very merry xmas. And god bless read more

I wish I could give this store zero stars it's the most disgusting grocery store I've absolutely ever been to I went today to get pizza crust purchased two pizza crust and one was full of mold and didn't even have the expiration date until May 2021. I went home opened up the pizza crust found all of the mold so I came back to the get my money back and nobody even apologize to me for my pizza crust being completely full of mold in fact the girl at the customer service register decided that her phone was more important than a customer standing in front of her and then proceeded to not even speak to me after the transaction and then when I told her I could've at least gotten a sorry for having molded pizza she still did not respond with anything. read more

I have been a customer of this Kroger since 2003. As of 2008 after being ravaged by Ike it was completely remodeled for the better. This location is convenient only 3 min away from home. Although it is not a signature Kroger it does have a good selection of everything. My only complaint about this location is things that are advertised are sometimes not carried by this Kroger and the deli does not carry Boar's Head products. Other than that I really enjoy shopping here. I get sent coupons all the time and definitely rack up those fuel points and being a pharmacy customer helps because every RX p/u is worth 50 points! read more

This was meant for the Kroger on Garth - not on Alexander - my apologies. I don't knkow how to delete this review - so I wanted to edit it . . . I have no knowledge of what the Kroger on Alexander is doing. This store makes no effort whatsoever to enforce its rule about wearing masks either for customers or its own employees. I have complained twice before and they look at me like i'm some sort of lunatic. I have to say that i've yet to find a grocery store that will actually enforce its own rules for whatever reasons - but this store just seems to treat this pandemic as some sort of joke that is eventually going to go away without people having to make changes to their lifestyle for at least the short term. It is very sad that health care workers are putting their lives on the line daily to treat people and yet some feet that it imposition to wear a mask for the 1/2 hr it takes to shop. Those who believe they have the constitutional right to possibly infect others should they be a carrier are . . . . . well I can't really think of a word for it. Sooner or later these simple common sense rules of social distancing and wearing masks when around others WILL have to be enforced . . . why not start now I wonder. Shame on Kroger for it's lip service to trying to combat this thing! read more

The young lady in florist was very rude yesterday, spoke to the manager all he said sorry

We went to the floral department looking for balloons to purchase and fill with helium. After standing a little bit and watching the employee looking at videos on her cell phone with no acknowledgement of our being there I said excuse me ma'am no less than three times before she finally looked up at me, did not say a word. I asked "do you have balloons I can purchase and fill", her answer was, "they are $1.50 each." I told her what I wanted, she had an I don't give a s^&t attitude the whole time she was waiting on us. We won't be back there if that is how your customers are treated. read more

The store address is 1700 North Alexander, Baytown, Texas 77521. If I could give this store 0 stars I would! It's the worst store EVER! The service is terrible! The other night we went to pick up a few things around 10:00. The checkers all stopped checking. Not one checker was at a register! I'm not sure what happened. I don't know if they all went on break together, or if they went home. I do know a few were chasing each other and playing in the store. One checker yelled, "you'll all have to check out yourselves." So we did and of course the self check outs all had problems every two seconds. The lines were long and no checker ever came back to check anyone's groceries to help the lines! My husband and I were really irritated! Whoever is managing this store is doing a very poor job! I've never witnesed every single checker leaving their register! It was crazy and someone should be held responsible! read more
