Okay I'm going to be honest for a minute and say that the employees are absolutely rude and unhelpful at times. I've had to ask for help once and the guy just pointed me in a direction. I know this is Baytown but I moved here from The Heights Area (Yale St.) in Houston and comparing THAT store to this one is like night and day now. Come on y'all. Do better. No smiles. No warm welcome. I don't come to steal your paycheck when I shop. I don't know I've never really posted a lot on Yelp so I know this will not be seen but I may just go talk to the manager or someone because the other day (not to mention I was using a cane to help me walk), I guess the security people at the self checkout are too keen on "keeping people from stealing". I'm getting up in age (although I try to keep my youth with me), I have to check myself out here if no lane is open, and I move slow sometimes.... But when I say yalls protection or body guards were STARING ME DOWN and not even offering to help me..... that was a mistake because I will always remember that. Bakery Department And who said "Old Fashion Customer Service" was dead? I recently ordered a Birthday Cake with a BLACK PANTHER theme. The ordering was easy. The scheduling was made within a few minutes on a late afternoon on monday, and off I went home. I was picking up the cake on Wednesday morning. The following day, I received a phone call there was a discrepancy with the chosen decorative topping I chose ( there were two options). No problem, I'll go with the other one, i was okay with it but not excited about the decision. A few hours later I received another call, it was the same lady from the prior call, she was so lovely. She told me she understood the importance of a festive birthday cake and she and her staffed looked for a better Black Panther decorative option and found one! They saved the day!! The demeanor of the communication from the Bakery Deptartment was genuine and eager to please. The cake was so delicious. And the Black Panther decorations rocked! read more

For years, I've been trying to really understand why Kroger is so much more expensive than most other grocers. This one especially doesn't make sense as I usually go to Kroger for hard to find flavors, ingredients, and varieties of common products. However, this store doesn't even carry that stuff. On top of which, the parking sucks! However, this is the only Baytown location that has gas. I never spend enough to earn gas points, but those who do keep the pumps working. read more

I take back my review. Went again at midnight people in line and some uneducated employee *chaz * could not open the register to ring people out. I watched 5 people walk out without paying for their groceries because he let them go because he got frustrated and could not open the register and the security guard stood and watched. He said there was no manager on duty and that should be illegal, Krogers open 24 hours and nobody knows what there doing. I waited in line for 20 minutes and finally left how can there be no manager on duty I want my 20 minutes of life back. If you're Krogers and reading this please message me I would like to discuss this issue with you. I almost called the police on this location due to the theft I witnessed. Warning do not shop at this Krogers ever Will be contacting corporate and expressing my concerns tommorow. read more

I went to make a few purchases for the day. As i was in line one of the manager let everyone know that their system was down . No cards,only cash . I was so frustrated and had a few very necessary items for breakfast. I left the cart and grabbed two small items the manager saw i was really sad more than anything.he approached us and proceeded to to donate$20.00. To make my purchases. His name was Andrew. I wish there was more Andrews in this life. I was so touched by his act of kindness. I cried because it drew tears in me and my lil one were soooo greatful. Without that lil help. I asked why half the employees (Garth Rd, Baytown, TX) were not wearing masks. I was told that some have health problems that preclude their use. Things such as anxiety attacks. Now if there were only one or two employees making such a claim, I MIGHT believe that they had a legitimate reason. But half the sackers, who were all young people? No, I don't believe that. Just an excuse. And if they can't abide a snug-fitting mask, they could wear a shield. They lack respect for their customers. I wish I could give this store zero stars it's the most disgusting grocery store I've absolutely ever been to I went today to get pizza crust purchased two pizza crust and one was full of mold and didn't even have the expiration date until May 2021. I went home opened up the pizza crust found all of the mold so I came back to the get my money back and nobody even apologize to me for my pizza crust being completely full of mold in fact the girl at the customer service register decided that her phone was more important than a customer standing in front of her and then proceeded to not even speak to me after the transaction and then when I told her I could've at least gotten a sorry for having molded pizza she still did not respond with anything. read more

I have been a customer of this Kroger since 2003. As of 2008 after being ravaged by Ike it was completely remodeled for the better. This location is convenient only 3 min away from home. Although it is not a signature Kroger it does have a good selection of everything. My only complaint about this location is things that are advertised are sometimes not carried by this Kroger and the deli does not carry Boar's Head products. Other than that I really enjoy shopping here. I get sent coupons all the time and definitely rack up those fuel points and being a pharmacy customer helps because every RX p/u is worth 50 points! read more

This was meant for the Kroger on Garth - not on Alexander - my apologies. I don't knkow how to delete this review - so I wanted to edit it . . . I have no knowledge of what the Kroger on Alexander is doing. This store makes no effort whatsoever to enforce its rule about wearing masks either for customers or its own employees. I have complained twice before and they look at me like i'm some sort of lunatic. I have to say that i've yet to find a grocery store that will actually enforce its own rules for whatever reasons - but this store just seems to treat this pandemic as some sort of joke that is eventually going to go away without people having to make changes to their lifestyle for at least the short term. It is very sad that health care workers are putting their lives on the line daily to treat people and yet some feet that it imposition to wear a mask for the 1/2 hr it takes to shop. Those who believe they have the constitutional right to possibly infect others should they be a carrier are . . . . . well I can't really think of a word for it. Sooner or later these simple common sense rules of social distancing and wearing masks when around others WILL have to be enforced . . . why not start now I wonder. We went to the floral department looking for balloons to purchase and fill with helium. After standing a little bit and watching the employee looking at videos on her cell phone with no acknowledgement of our being there I said excuse me ma'am no less than three times before she finally looked up at me, did not say a word. I asked "do you have balloons I can purchase and fill", her answer was, "they are $1.50 each." I told her what I wanted, she had an I don't give a s^&t attitude the whole time she was waiting on us. The store address is 1700 North Alexander, Baytown, Texas 77521. If I could give this store 0 stars I would! It's the worst store EVER! The service is terrible! The other night we went to pick up a few things around 10:00. The checkers all stopped checking. Not one checker was at a register! I'm not sure what happened. I don't know if they all went on break together, or if they went home. I do know a few were chasing each other and playing in the store. One checker yelled, "you'll all have to check out yourselves." So we did and of course the self check outs all had problems every two seconds. The lines were long and no checker ever came back to check anyone's groceries to help the lines! My husband and I were really irritated! Whoever is managing this store is doing a very poor job! I've never witnesed every single checker leaving their register! It was crazy and someone should be held responsible! read more
