Ah Good old Krispy Kreme, I remember signing a petition online back in 2006 to "Bring Krispy Kreme to Brisbane". Eventually my dreams came true and they opened two stores, this one and a large one on Albert Street. Unfortunately the Albert Street store closed down a couple of years later but thankfully, the little kiosk in the Myer centre was safe. Phew.
Doughnuts are not an everyday thing and in a nation that is constantly being reminded about obesity, cholesterol and blah blah blah, it is understandable why they may may not have sold as well. The key with these doughnuts is the same with any fatty foods- only have consume it in moderation. I will not eat on of these doughnuts every day but hey, if I am walking past Krispy Kreme want a doughnut (and have not had one in a while), I will buy a doughnut and eat it.
The Doughnuts at Krispy Kreme are seriously the best ones, don't even get me started on how awful the Donut King ones are. They are fluffy, have a spongy texture, have a subtle sweetness and they never taste dry.
I have my fingers and toes crossed in hopes that this one never closes down. read more
