The staff is unfriendly and the office is poorly managed. You wait to check in, and then you wait again to check out--often in a waiting room full of people just trying to leave. They show zero concern for how long any of that takes, and because they never answer the phone, you're forced to stay if you need to schedule anything. The worst part is their complete inability to answer calls. In the months I've been a patient, they've answered maybe twice. My medication is hard to find, so adjustments are often needed based on pharmacy availability, but you can't get anyone on the phone to help. The doctor even told me to call if I had trouble getting my prescription filled, but that doesn't help when no one picks up. To make things worse, I needed to reschedule an appointment but they would not answer and then charged me a no show even though I told them I tried calling multiple times. This office is not managed well, and patients end up being treated like we're the problem. read more

I have been taking my daughter to Dr Sunkureddi for about 10 years now. I will follow this man wherever he goes. He is brilliant in his diagnosis and medicinal applications. He is kind and compassionate like no other psychiatrist we have been to. He is non judgemental when she goes through her phases of not taking her meds. He listens to her and respects her words and opinions. He is a truly wonderful human being that is following his calling and carrying out his life's work like few individuals i have encountered. Thank you dr Sunkureddi for all that you have done and do. Also his office staff have always gone above and beyond to work with our insurance on prior authorizations and working my daughter in if she is having an emergency. I felt like they didn't care about me or my mental health. I would wait in the waiting area for an hour before getting to see the psychiatrist after my scheduled appointment, then when I finally did get into see him, he would barely even look up from the notes to ask me how I was doing. I had real concerns about gaining so much weight with the medication and all he had to say to me was "you need to control yourself" no empathy no nothing. The time I spent with the actual doctor was less than five minutes and after telling my concerns to the nurse all they could tell me to do was sign up for another appointment time. The nursing staff is ok, but that is about it. If you ever want to talk to a real person on the phone, it's not going to happen. Also, if you ever need a refill on medications they REQUIRE an appointment even if there are none available which is usually the case for weeks. So if you run out of medicine because you had to reschedule for a later date and need even just a week to get by, it WON'T HAPPEN! Not only that but each time you go in you see a different doctor or PA. So there is no continuity of care. They know nothing about you other than what is in your chart and don't care to know any more. I felt like I was cattle being herded through to the slaughterhouse, there were so many people crammed in there, all waiting to see a doctor who only cared enough about you to see you five minutes. This was not a one time thing either. I went multiple times to this psychiatrist's office and each time I felt the same way. Do not go! Worst psychiatrist ever!!! If you want to keep sane do not come here!!! The front desk staff is soooooo rude!! Beyond rude they just seem so miserable and oh if you call they will offer a call back and they will not call back!! They will place you on hold forever and if you can hear the background noise is all gossip in there!! With Covid they do phone appointments I called to confirm because I got my appointment before Covid I called to find out the new procedures about 2 wks before my appt they didn't call me until Friday around 11a while I'm working they close at 2pm and they left me a message saying I had a balance, they won't see you if you have a balance, they close at 2p. I had to call Monday at 9am when they opened and no answer then the girl was so rude I asked to speak to someone else and she rudely said no!! I had to pay my balance my appt was at 10a they said they would call me back they called me back for my appt at 11am I was busy because I made time for an appt at 10am so I called back at 1pm they took forever to get me to dr taz which is also rude I try to make convo to avoid the awkward silence and he ignores you. Oh and not to mention if you're late even 5 min they say "oh well we have to see if the doctor will still see you" I called once to let them know I was running late I work in Katy so the traffic from Katy to kingwood is ridiculous I called and I told them I was running 5 min late they said they had to see if the doctor was going to see me I said ok well will he?! the girl said idk you have to get here and we will see!! why would I drive all the way there to get told I can't be seen?!? I could've just turned around gone back to work!! But it was ok for them to be late to call back or see a patient?! I absolutely dread having to go into my 3 month appt because of the negativity in this place they all seem so miserable!! I cannot wait to find a good psychiatrist to get out of here!! This office is a mess! The PA's mainly, Taz, are awful. He listened to nothing I had to say, dismissed my concerns and prescribed me the same medication that I was trying to tell him, gave me a seizure. I had just got out of hospital for two days for related issues but he didn't want to hear this nor talk about it. I couldn't have been in his office more then 6 minuets. Just long enough for him to tell me my hospital stay wasn't important to him and my treatment with him, and that I probably should see another doctor. He was insulting, rude and could have cared less. Even thou my copay is only 30.00 I will never go there again! And I'm spreading the word. Doctors are supposed to listen and help, unfortunately these people could care less! read more

If you're thinking about going here, don't. This place is a mess, and I question the legality of some of their actions. If you care to know why, please read on. First of all, if your experience with this office is anything like mine, you can expect to see the doctor maybe once or twice, and then NEVER again. Instead, you'll be passed along through a series of PAs, appointment after appointment, even if you already made an appointment with the doctor or another PA. If you're cool with that, then this is the place for you. Still unsure? Please keep reading. I've been to other psychiatrists in the past, and I can tell you that I've never seen as much anger or unprofessionalism as I've seen at this office. Here are just a couple of my experiences, both of which happened within the last year: A woman who was waiting for her appointment got up and went in to see the PA when MY name was called, even though our names sounded nothing alike. I even started to walk towards the PA, but she disappeared with the other patient before I could say anything. It wasn't until the PA started discussing MY treatment plan that either of them realized something was amiss. Another time, a very angry woman was screaming at one of the PAs (probably for a good reason) in the back of the office. A staff member then came to the waiting room and actually LOCKED us in, from the outside! Think about that for a second... Angry yelling was not an uncommon sound in this place, but at least I was only falsely imprisoned once. Still not enough to keep you way? Please continue. Their fees... Getting someone to answer the phone during business hours is nearly impossible, and the fees they charge for missed appointments are absolutely outrageous. I believe it's something like $50 now. It keeps going up. Be sure to leave a message if you need to cancel an appointment, and with a little bit of luck, the staff just might listen to it.. Also, don't get sick on the day of your appointment, because they will still threaten you with a fee, even if you've never missed an appointment before. On the other hand, you can expect for them to cancel YOUR appointment as you're driving to the office, about 15 minutes from your scheduled time, because the PA called in sick that day. Yes, that all happened to me. Great service at this place. Want some more? No problem. If you need a refill, even just for a week's worth of pills to get you to your next appointment, good luck, especially if you cancelled and rescheduled. It doesn't matter how good your reasons were for rescheduling. At the very least, expect to wait a few days and play phone tag with whichever member of the revolving door staff is there at the time. At worst, expect not to get one at all. I went without one of my meds for two MONTHS because they didn't send it to the pharmacy like they were supposed to. I just stopped taking it Expect the same kind of care when you request a copy of your records, which are all paper-based, by the way. But wait, there's more... They also have some kind of racket going with an out of state drug testing lab. Oh yes, expect to submit to REQUIRED drug tests if you want to receive treatment here, whether you're being prescribed a controlled substance or not, and even if you have absolutely NO history of substance abuse at all. I repeat, this is not optional. They will make you pee in a cup in the urine-soaked, stinky "public" restroom, and they will send it to a lab hundreds of miles away. Then, you can expect to receive an outrageous $150 (or something close to that) balance bill from the out of state lab. That's what you have to pay AFTER insurance has paid something like $400! For a drug test!! The staff here at the pysch's office will tell you not to pay the bill, because the lab will just accept whatever insurance pays. This is a bold-faced LIE. You will be harrassed and receive multiple bills from the lab if you don't pay. Now, if you've read this far, you might be asking "Why did you put up with this place for so long if it was so awful?" The answer: sheer desperation. They took my insurance, and they were accepting new patients, unlike other local psychiatrists' offices at the time I started treatment. Also, believe it or not, this office didn't have the worst ratings!! Let that sink in. This office had a BETTER rating than many of the other local psychiatrists' offices. This is one of the many reasons why we're having a mental health crisis in America. There just aren't many good treatment options available. To sum it up, I'm finished with Dr. Sunkureddi's office. The bogus lab fee, and the fact that in the last 2 business days, no one has picked up the phone to take my call, are the last straws. Please, if you have a choice, avoid this place like the plague. I will never darken this doctor's doorway again. read more

First appointment I scheduled and couldn't get in for over 4 weeks. I was very understanding with that since I was a new patient. They called the morning of to cancel and had to reschedule me 2 weeks later. Now we're at over 6 weeks waiting. I showed up this morning and my clinician had apparently called in sick. Mind you it was a 45 minute drive. Very unprofessional and disappointing. I am in the process of looking for another psychiatrist, thank God I'm not suicidal. read more

These people have no concept of other people's time. Our appointment was for 9:00 a.m. The excuse is they are not going to rush the patient seeing the doctor. Well, their first appointment was for 9:00 a.m. so why did they schedule more than one patient to see the doctor at the same time? This office has NO respect for other people's time. I no longer am a patient here but during my time as one, I was subjected to the most serious form of unprofessional-ism. While Dr. Sunkureddi is a very nice gentlemen, his staff are horrendous. They openly discussed private information of mine in front of other patients as well as made fun of not only myself but a close relative (and did so once again in front of other patients) and would make each visit difficult. I think anyone looking for help in this area of treatment should seek a more healthy environment. read more

An amazing physician! Dr. Sunkureddi was able to help me with my panic disorder when no one else could. He takes a fun but professional demeanor and combines it with unparalleled knowledge. Dr. Sunkureddi has seen it all, and is very well-informed about most conditions. He is noted in his profession as one of the best, and I agree. One thing that impresses me even more is that Dr. Sunkureddi is often on the cutting edge, keeping up to date on the most current research. This means that he is often willing to try experimental or "non-traditional" approaches if he feels they might have a chance. And most importantly, Dr. Sunkureddi partners with you on treatment. He doesn't throw pills at you. He doesn't make up his mind before you speak. He listens and asks for your own input. Just one of the best, period. Highly recommended. read more

I understand it's not a regular family practice, therefor it stays as busy as a specialty clinic, however I feel that client courtesy and respect should be top priority. I would love to have had the experience the previous rater did - and reviews like his are part of the reason we chose this office. Unfortunately, we had nowhere near a good experience. This Dr.'s office "lost" appointments for my child TWICE in the span of a week. The first appointment was scheduled in August for Sept 25th, when I called on Sept 23rd to verify their location, I was told there was no appointment for my child that day. I rescheduled for the soonest appointment available, which was today, October 2nd at 10:30 am. We took off work to be available for the appointment, and we rearranged everyone's schedules to accommodate. When we went to check in, we were told that no such appointment existed... AGAIN. While this doctor may be amazing, our family would not know, because his office team was unable to properly schedule an appointment - TWICE. I would suggest finding an office that honors their appointments, and has employees competent and honest enough to actually schedule an appointment rather than lying to patients and telling them that an appointment was scheduled when it apparently was not. read more

I have been treated for bipolar disorder I, rapid cycling, by eight different psychiatristrists since 1993 and Dr. Sunkureddi is in a class by himself! He is an outstanding psychiatrist! After 8 years of hospitalizations every 4-6 months, I came to Dr. Sunkureddi who quickly balanced my medications. Within several months I found stability. I have not been hospitalized in six years! Dr. Sunkureddi is very knowledgeable about psych medications and psychiatric illnesses. He believes in the patient understanding his/her body and mind, the illness and how his/her medications work. He is informed about the latest research, medicines and is not afraid to try different approaches to achieve a good result. This was exemplified by his choice of medications for me. He also is compassionate and treats the entire person. I had expressed my concern about weight gain from the bipolar mood stabilizers from the past. Many psychiatrists are insensitive to the weight gain that these cause. Dr, Sunkureddi is always seeking to improve the total health condition, that is, both the physical and emotional aspects. To me that is the sign of a truly good physician. He is concerned about the whole person and isn't the wholeness of the person what we are looking for in going through psychiatric treatment? read more

Almost impossible to get ahold of anyone during office hours and then on the off chance that they do call you back, they often hang up to go "find your file" and never call back. When I found out I was pregnant, I immediately made it my number one priority to get off all of my medication however, it took ~3 months for me to get in to see anybody and that was only because I physically went into the office and demanded to see Dr Sunkereddi or else I would just stop taking my medicine. read more

Just a recent example, I have been trying to reach the office for 5 days now so that I can get records sent to a new dr. and they NEVER answer the phone!! I find Dr. Sunkureddi to be very compassionate and sincere with his patients. He was dead on with my diagnosis and was feeling so much better overall within just a couple of months. My husband and I decided to change Dr's for my youngest son who has ADHD and mild anxiety disorder. I have been going to this office for years, they have been kind and helpful. Then Dr. Taz was added to the office. At first he seemed like a good doctor, but soon I realized he was not performing at a quality level. My case is a difficult one, and when he was admittedly stumped on how to treat me he ensure me that he would do research so he could better assist me. That was a few visits ago. On my most recent visit he informed me that he had no obligations to me outside of my 15 minutes, and that he was not going to do any further research even though he was not effectively doing his job. He became extremely rude, and condescending. When I asked him what other medical treatments be recommended I peruse, and I pointed out that many of his options had been tried with me before and had not produced satisfactory results, he got angrier with me. So here I am concerned because I've been all this time and money, and he is sitting there talking down to me and eventually stated that I just simply must not want to get better because I am not trying hard enough. He constantly brags about being both a lawyer and a doctor, and I have heard him say negative things about his coworkers multiple times. When I asked about how to make a formal complaint about the way I was treated today he smugly informed me that it would be at least a year before the Texas government responded to my complaint, I have never been treated so poorly by a professional in any field, and Taz has made it clear that he doesn't think he will be held responsible for his unprofessionalism. Perhaps there is nothing I can do but switch doctors, but I feel like someone with his job should be treating people better, especially when the patient is just concerned about their future. I had seen some of the reviews from other clients. I made an appointment and that may have been my mistake. I arrived at my appointment , to be greeted by a closed office window with one other person in front of me. By the time someone actually acknowledged there were people(7) outside waiting to be checked in ; it was fifteen minutes later( according to all of those signs that are posted on the window, I was technically late). I filled out their paperwork and paid my co-pay. I asked how long could it be before I may be seen. I was told that there were two people ahead of me. One was in the room and the other still had to be called back.Fine. I glanced over at the wall where the patient files were kept and saw one in the waiting to be seen rack. Fine. Flash forward one and a half hours later, I was still waiting to be seen. Then, he( Sunkureddi) called a patient back, and it wasn'y me. Let us keep in mind that my appointment was at 3p.m. and it was now 4:30 and who was called back came in long after I arrived. Enough was enough at that point. I went to the window around the corner not in the front and asked for my refund. When the receptionist went to get my folder it had been put back behind three people who had gotten there long after I had. According to the staff there that was okay . The younger one with the dark hair seemed proud that she got to make these decisions and offered no explanation at all. Her whole attitude was like "whatever" and who cares, just give her her money back so that she can go.Sunkureddi may be a good doctor but I will never know and I do actively voice against visiting any office that has a crappy staff. read more
