I'll say it: best bottle shop in London. To start, the selection is outstanding. Lots of British stuff, plenty of Belgian, a whole wall of German, and lots of American. (There are plenty of other countries in there, too.) The American selection was quite impressive. There was stuff in here I couldn't even buy when I lived in New York City last year! Lost Abbey/Port Brewing, Odell, and Big Sky are in there, to name a few. (None of these beers are distributed in New York.)
The shop itself is tiny but the space is utilized to the max. Thankfully, while I was in there there was never more than one other customer. It could get cramped very quickly, I think. And what I liked the most was that all the bottles were labled with the price. (This is not the case at Utobeer.) And the prices are better than decent. Some real bargains can be found, but for the most part the prices are fair.
Sure, Kris Wines is a bit outside the city center, but there is a bus stop right nearby, and the walk from Euston Street is only about 30 minutes. I can't wait to go back. read more
