I paid $450 for professional photography for my daughter's first birthday, a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that cost over $7,000. I trusted this photographer to capture such a special occasion, but the final gallery was extremely disappointing. Many of the photos were taken from low, unflattering angles, had poor composition, or were unnecessarily repetitive. Several important moments were either missed or not captured well. What was even more disappointing was the response afterward. When I raised my concerns, the photographer claimed that the angles had been "edited to eye level." That explanation made little sense. While editing can adjust exposure, color, and cropping, it generally cannot change the original camera angle or perspective. A photo taken from a low angle cannot realistically be transformed into an eye-level shot through editing alone. The photographer also failed to avoid obvious reflections in people's eyeglasses. Can you imagine paying $450 for professional photos, only to receive images in which bright white glare obscures people's eyes and faces? Instead of acknowledging the problems or offering a reasonable solution, Mary, the owner, refused to take responsibility or provide a refund. This was my daughter's once-in-a-lifetime first birthday, and after spending over $7,000 on the celebration, I expected professional-quality photographs that would preserve those memories. Unfortunately, both the quality of the photographs and the customer service fell far below my expectations.

After doing some online research and talking with a few photographers I decided to work with Stacey. We met in Old Town Alexandria one Saturday afternoon in October. I was nervous at first but shortly into our photo session I felt at ease as Stacey is friendly, professional and fun, not to mention amazing at what she does! She was also great with our greyhound and got some adorable shots of him. Stacey has a wonderful eye for light and color and found a lot of unique backgrounds for our photos. Our online gallery was available after about a week and a half and the results were fantastic! Soon after, Stacey scheduled a free consultation with us to view all our photos on the large computer screen that she has and to help us pick out which prints and framing options we wanted to put up in our home. My husband and I just got married and we hired Joe Lee from Party Favor Photo for Photo Booth services for our wedding. We did not experience any issues leading up to the event. Joe was quite responsive, friendly, and accommodating, and his prices seemed very reasonable for the quality and service so we were quite pleased and excited for Party Favor Photo to be at our event. However, there were some hiccups and miscommunications during the event that my husband and I were dissatisfied with. For one, the photo booth attendant set up about 30 minutes late. Another issue was that the attendant printed the first few photos in color, although we contracted for black and white photos. They were able to resolve this quickly once we realized the issue, so no harm no foul. However, the software continued to be glitchy and crashed several times throughout the night. Some of our photos turned out dark and fuzzy as well. After the wedding, I reached out to Joe to express our disappointment and he responded completely unprofessionally. He accused me and my husband of being cheap customers who didn't want to spring for a more expensive package, which was the reason for the issues. And upon seeing a negative review from one of our guests, Joe jumped to the conclusion that it was my husband who wrote the review and deleted all the photos from our online gallery. He also threatened to sue us for defamation. If it hadn't been for Joe's poor response, I would have given his business a 3 or 4 star review. I am now down to 1 star because of his terrible attitude and unprofessionalism. Edit: the business owner's response to this review is quite telling. Please do not be fooled by his lies.

I would also like to give major props to Patrick, who was happy to be super collaborative about the editing process and let me come sit in while he put most of it together (our team is very opinionated). I was also stunned at the amount of usable footage (interviews & b-roll) we were able to collect in two days - we have nearly 10 hours of it.
