I was amazed with how quickly we went from scared and shy to laughing hysterically and going crazy in front of the camera. One of the fine ladies helping us had a photographic memory. She would ask me my cell number and immediately committed it to memory. She had photos and videos buzzing my phone before I even got out of the booth. The best part of this was how much fun it was to get in there and jazz it up. And she was booked for the entire month of September except 1 weekend; the weekend of our wedding - thankfully she took us on. K Thompson (Kelsey) was and IS absolutely amazing. She has such a portfolio of work that she always had recommendations to personalize your experience and she takes well to suggestions that you may have. As far as our experience: She spent 3 hours shooting photos for our engagement shoot. After 3 hours my wife and I were exhausted, She was still going strong. We asked her what the secret was - she just loves taking photos that much. She had an engagement shoot every night that week due to bad weather in the prior weeks. You would not have known. I thought we were the only ones that week by her energy (and we shot ours on Thursday of that week). On the wedding day her and her assistant were both top notch. They both had high energy! She was just so excited! And honestly it made all the difference for us. We wanted someone with high energy. After attending 20-25 weddings over the last couple years we really wanted a friendly, take charge photographer who knew what shot she wanted. K. Thompson met every need. On the professional side - she meets her deadlines, she's upfront and honest, and truly a great person. After going through what I call "photo hell week" when my wife lost her first choice - we saw the differences up close by meeting with 5-6 photographers in about 4 days; here's my only piece of advice for anyone picking a photographer: Pick someone you get along with, can communicate with, and is excited about your wedding venue. If you're lucky enough to find all that and you like their photos - pay whatever price they want. My wife and I were married at Camden Yards in Baltimore in September 2011. Kelsey was the only one truly excited by the idea of taking pictures at the ball park. Since the wedding we've had friends contact her for their wedding, friends talk about how great the photos came out (and they wished their photos came out that great), and also compare Kelsey to photographers at weddings they have attended since our wedding - and they all say the same thing "your photographer rocks!" If my wife's first choice and Kelsey were both available - we would have picked Kelsey. Her personality, experience, and body of work just won us over.
