This will be a LONG review, because I think Krav Maga Houston is AWESOME and I cannot say enough good things about this place! I have been training here for 2 years now, and I LOVE it! It has been THE BEST decision I've ever made and I've not regretted it one moment. My friends and I came to an intro class and we said HELL YES when it came down to sign up! I recommend it to anyone and everyone, especially to other women. The Instructors are all very knowledgeable, hard working, dedicated, professional individuals. They each deserve much respect for the hard work they put in. They have a no nonsense attitude, and if you feel something in the system doesn't work for you, they are willing to discuss it. That's why the logo has an open circle: Good exercises flow into the system and flawed exercises flow out. They want to see each and every student succeed, and are willing to answer your questions if you have a problem with something that was covered in class. They explain everything well so anyone can understand, and best of all they explain why they do what they do. We don't have to wear uncomfortable clothing to practice. We are free to set our own training schedule without having to worry about going over a set amount of classes. The schedule itself is pretty flexible. They give you the tools you need to help save your life. They will also get you in great shape if you take the fitness class with Krav, but it's not necessary, because Krav is an all body workout, anyway. Meta's just functional fitness & you can use it toward Krav. Like icing on cake, my friends. They have an "anything is possible" attitude, and a "keep moving forward" attitude that rubs off on you. These are all some of the great things about KMH. When you dedicate yourself & you start stringing all of the gross motor skills together, it starts to make sense & you feel good. You definitely get the work that you put in here, just like when you work out. And while yes, you can "work out" anywhere else, because there are many local gyms that are cheaper, you get what you pay for. I will gladly pay a little extra so I can defend myself efficiently, because I will be confident that I can walk without fear, and as a female that is priceless. In my opinion, my life is worth more than money, anyway. The money I spend on membership here is probably better spent because I'm learning something that can actually help save my life. You can't compare a regular gym with Krav Maga Houston. That's like comparing a local fast food "value meal" vs. a good home cooked meal.. It's just not even in the same league! :) This is world class training.. As close to the original source as you can get. No knockoffs here. Very technical, and I like that! I wouldn't change anything about this place.
By the way, to anyone that has complained about the billing, guess what, that has NOTHING to do with the gym itself. That's like going to a movie theater and complaining to the manager about not liking the movie you just saw. In my opinion, a review about this place should be about whether or not they are doing their job of teaching you genuine Krav Maga & how good they are at doing it. The 3rd party handles your account, including the billing, after you sign the contract. Finding out about your contract terms & your billing is your responsibility. It's your contract, & I certainly don't think you were made to sign it, so be you're responsible for what you signed. I personally did not have any major problems with the billing, and when I did, I could handle it on-line & their customer service personnel usually responded the very next day. I like everyone at KMH, including members, they all become a part of your inner circle. I wouldn't have it any other way. read more
