I have nothing but good things to say about Kraftwerk K9. I have always had GSDs, so I know what to expect. I bought Henry, my 2-year-old GSD, and he's been healthy, smart, and a perfect companion. He's very social and friendly. I've done his obedience myself, and he is a super fast learner. I have had him in the city, in the country, around the shooting range, in the mall, in office towers, on elevators, in my airplane, and he is comfortable in all environments. I take Henry with me all the time, even when I travel. He does great on road trips and at hotels. I recently bought 80 acres of land, so I just ordered a second Kraftwerk K9, fully trained protection dog, to give Henry a playmate. These working dogs love to play and are high-energy, but they are good for family pets as long as you remain the alpha. My experience with Kraftwerk K9 was good, and we are excited to add a second Kraftwerk GSD to our home. I hope this review is helpful. read more

I purchased a 30 month old male German Shepherd from KraftWerk K9 Pro in October of 2024. He was advertised as a trained personal protection dog and I paid the price of a new car for him. Communication was good prior to the sale and I received timely responses from the owner (Wayne Curry) and the Office Manager (Desiree Wing) prior to the sale. Upon receiving the dog he was not respectful of my space and lacked basic obedience training. He was reactive to other dogs and people on leash and was impossible to walk in public, he was a "tire biter" and was dangerous around a moving vehicle. Realizing a "personal protection dog" is of no use if he/she cannot be taken in public places I sent Wayne and Desiree an email to complain. I received no response. KraftWerk K9 Pro (Wayne Curry) portrays his dogs as "personal protection" dogs and he goes to great lengths to show them biting an employee in a bite arm or focused on a ball (not the handler) but he shows no videos of his dogs in public places walking on or off leash or around vehicles, lawn mowers, ATVs, string trimmers, animals, people etc. The dog he sent me was a danger to himself and a liability for me. I included a clause in our Sales Agreement that stated if the dog was diagnosed with a terminal illness within one year of the date of purchase, supported by a report by licensed veterinarian that a replacement dog would be provided. Three months after I had my dog he started exhibiting pain when jumping up into a vehicle. I had him examined and x-rayed by two licensed veterinarians, one was a neuro specialist. He was diagnosed with a genetic defect and I was advised not to use him for breeding. The vet told me eventually the dog would not be able to get up on his hind legs. On 29 May I sent Wayne Curry an email with the vets report as an attachment and requested a replacement dog. I received no response. I followed up two days later with an email to include the vets report to the Office Manager. I received no response from her or from Wayne Curry's wife and business partner (Jamie Curry); emailed on 13 June. KraftWerks K9 Pro/Wayne Curry will not honor any contract or sales agreement. This business does not know the meaning of "service after the sale". There is no follow up call to see how you and the dog are adjusting or if you have any questions. In fact, they will ignore your calls and emails. Forget about revisions to the contract as Wayne will not honor the contract anyway. Stay away from this business if you are looking for a German Shepherd; Wayne Curry will not honor his Sales Agreement! read more

Buyer beware! Kraftwerks k9, their names says it all! Kraftwerks is an understatement! I bought a two year old male, not cheap whatsoever and good ole Wayne is krafty! This boy is extremely head shy, doesn't want anything to do with men, he was not the boy Wayne represented at all. Don't walk away from wayne ..run! Wayne Is not honest and does not care about placement of the dogs he has. Never once did wayne or his staff contact me in any manner to see how "our" fit together was!Wayne cares about the money and that is it. I've owned german shepherds for 30 years and never experienced buying a dog that was not only extremely head shy but has absolutely no confidence. He was abused no ands if's or buts! Now, it's my job to make this boy feel safe and work on all the issues he came with. Wayne misrepresents his dogs for the almighty dollar. Shame on him and what he does to these dogs! He is so afraid of men and it's so sad that Wayne instills fear in his dogs rather than love, support of doing the right thing with his handlers. This is so unexceptable to any animal! It's not that we received a GSD with bad hips, it was Wayne's response. After having her for 11 months he offered to have her euthanized and replace her. He banks on the customer growing attached to the dog and of course refuses to refund any of the cost of the dog. Thankfully our dogs mean more to us than money. Shame on Kraftwerk. I paid $5,500.00 for a male German Shepherd from Kraftwerk in the summer of 2019. However, less than a year later, our vet diagnosed our dog as a "cryptorchid," meaning he only has one testicle. I also learned this condition is a congenital anomaly and is a disqualifier of the dog for breeding. This condition causes an increased risk of testicular cancer and our dog has to be neutered. Worse yet, this is often a genetic trait passed on from the dog's parents, which means it is likely that my dog's father, or other male dogs in the Kraftwerk line, were also cryptorchids and should NOT have ever been bred. Kraftwerk staff verified this predictable and necessary outcome in one of my many phone calls. I called no less than two dozen times asking to speak with Wayne Curry, the owner of Kraftwerk, to no avail. I sent a legal demand letter to Kraftwerk demanding a response, to no avail. I have heard nothing from them. All I wanted was an explanation and maybe, some of my purchase price back given my dog does not meet the GSD breed standard. Worst of all, when I spoke to Wayne prior to buying my dog, he sold me on the idea that my dog came from the best bloodlines and was worth the price since he would be the ideal stud dog for breeding. Obviously, that was not the case. Customer service is non-existent. Once they get your money, Kraftwerk does not ever want to speak with you or help you again. Just awful. read more

Let me tell you about Mushu who's about 6 months now: First of all, when my girlfriend told me the price of the dog, I was shocked (really out of ignorance). When she told me she was having him stay an extra month for training, I frankly thought she was crazy!!!! EVERY SINGLE PENNY and multiple times over was worth it in my opinion! I could list all of the ways our dog is perfect but man what a freaking awesome dog. Does he make mistakes? Of course! Does he learn from them? Instantly. He just gets everything right away and just wants to work for you more than anything in the world. It's only been a few months and the things this dog does will just your mind. He's just completely dialed in to what should be it's just really fun to see. EVERYONE loves him and i get so many comments on how handsome he is. :p Our current trainer asked us where we got our dog he said "wow, do you guys know what you got yourself into? This dog is going to be very unhappy if you don't work with him. This is a dog for people who are serious about their dogs. If you do the work, you'll have the best possible dog you can get right there". I think i'll push the training where he takes me: If he loves it we'll just keep going. We're just having too much fun. After having Sam as a member of the family for over a year, I have watched this dog continue to develop into an amazingly powerful, dependable and intelligent adult. Sam has continued to show incredible drive and focus; strong natural instincts to protect the family and the home (especially since we've been home since March 2020); and I'm continually amazed at how quickly - almost instinctively- she learns totally new things. The vets are always commenting on what a beautiful shepherd she is. I believe she has, for the most part, finished growing and she tips the scale at almost 80 pounds. She's a very healthy, active and strong girl! Her muscular development is impressive! We could not love this silly, playful, loving and dependable girl more...the UPS driver? Not so much. But for us, this girl has been a miracle in what has been a crazy and scary time. Originally purchased to be a support dog for our son, she's also saved the sanity of mom and dad, too. She will get her specialized training when the pandemic is over, and we have no doubt she will learn these new skills effortlessly, but for right now, this GSD is just such a joy to have as a member of our family! Owner beware. We picked our puppy up in Oct 2021. We have spent many hours and reps training our dog. He is very smart and loves to train. But due to the DNA of our dog, he has anger redirection and has bitten me and my wife. Also, none of his training is protection based. He is completely fearless...So calm in all situations.. and he's just a puppy! We get so many comments on how calm he is. I had an amazing experience purchasing our German Shepherd puppy from Kraftwerk. From the moment I called to inquire, they were all incredibly helpful, professional, kind and answered all my questions thoroughly. And I sure did have a lot of questions! After I made the purchase, they sent me videos and pictures and continued to answer more questions from me. They were so responsive. Jamie was just outstanding in helping me ease any concerns I had. When our puppy finally arrived, he came in a crate with food, water, a collar and leash. He also came with a binder full of important documents. It also included everything about his parents, as well as DNA testing and his shots. It also included training lessons and food guidance. On day 2, I had the vet check him out and she said he is just great! Physically he's perfect and you can already tell by his behavior and personality that he is so smart and obedient. So far, very unimpressed. After paying $5600 for my GSD, I got an email asking which airport and date I wanted my GSD sent to. I responded 4 times over 2 weeks via email and got no answer. Finally I got a chance to get on the phone today I called and was told "I am trying to get the dog flown in to (my airport)". Unsure why they couldn't send me an email over the past 2 weeks letting me know that. Let's see how next week goes. I begged Wayne Curry at Kraftwerk K9 to help me after the dog I purchased from him became very ill from a genetic disease. Paco died in my arms at the vets office right before they were about to put him down. Paco could no longer walk, feed himself or sit up. I dropped out of school to take care of him, I was up countless nights, emotionally drained but I would of done anything for that dog. I was convinced he was going to get better. As time went on, multiple vets, medicines, wheelchairs, foods, he was just not getting better. He held on until I told the vet its best we put him down, as the vet left the room Paco died in my arms. I have never loved anything more in my life, every time I see a GSD or see something that reminds me of my Paco I fall apart. I gave Paco the best life possible, spending all I had to help figure out what was wrong with him or helping him. I spent my life savings on trying to help Paco (my german shepherd) he was my absolute best friend and Kraftwerk wouldn't respond to emails, phone calls, nothing. I was desperate to find out about Pacos family to provide more information to my vet. Or to ask Wayne if hes ever experienced anything like this before... he was too much of a coward to help me. He had NO idea how important Paco was to me. Wayne rakes in about $10,000-$15,000 for each adult GSD he sells. I am so disgusted he couldn't give me some answers or help after spending so much money. I bought my beloved Laika in 2009 from Kraftwerk. She was a beautiful puppy full of energy and after years of training became a successful search dog. She passed at nearly 13, but not without a lifetime of health issues. Laika was seen by the best Veterinarian practices; UPEnn working dogs, Cornell Vet Specialists,Orthopedic Specialists Arlington, I could go on , our $4500 dog became what we fondly called $50k. We contacted Mr Curry early on with her heart condition , with no response other than we could return her, this was three years into the training etc , and we loved her dearly. Mr Curry was uninterested in what Cornell was finding , not good if he was indeed interested in a premier breeding program. Laika died in our arms, the smartest dog .She endured , a narrowed vertebral canal, cardiac arrhythmias, and chronic ear infections. She was DM negative because WE had her tested. I will not be returning to Kraftwerk for my next dog , we are professional K9 handlers who become very close to our dogs and put both considerable time and money into their training. Mr. Curry sells a dream but doesn't follow through, with the customer service post sale, it's a shame because he has the potential to provide excellent dogs and excellent service. read more

I was compelled to write this review after reading some of the other reviews on this site. I give Kraftwerk 5-stars. We currently have our second Kraftwerk German Shepherd. We bought our first in 2004 and our second in 2012 after the first died. Both dogs are very loving, caring, attentive & protective. Both dogs were purchased as untrained puppies. They have tremendous natural instincts and were easy to teach. Both dogs are also extremely intelligent and therefore strong minded. These are not dogs for inexperienced or unprepared German Shepherd owner, even as puppies. You must be the 'alpha' otherwise they will. I've certainly become a stronger & more assertive person as a result of raising these pups. We bought #1 before we started our family. He was almost 2 years old when our twin infants were born. I can honestly say that the second we walked into the house with the new babies, the dog immediately new his new place in the family. He was absolutely PERFECT around our newborns, then toddlers, then kids. I can't say enough as to how great he was. I even had a backup plan for him if he wasn't perfect. A friend was going to take him if it didn't work out. She was so bummed when she learned the dog was perfect & she couldn't have our fur-baby. Our kids were about 6 years old when we brought home pup #2. As a pup, she was perfectly kid-sized. At 3 years old she still weighs about 40% more than the kids, yet the kids can boss her around. Both dogs are always very sweet and gentle with the babies.... then kids. My year old daughter even took a treat out of #1's mouth and he just looked up at me for help with big sad puppy dog eyes. He got his treat back & my baby was told not to steal treats. Both kids, by accident, have tripped, poked or yanked ears, eyes or tails of both dogs and the dog didn't even react, other than to maybe blink his eye a couple of times due to a stray finger in his eye. I have tripped over the dogs several times (in the dark, they both blend into the shadows & virtually disappear) and every single time (last night was the most recent) the dogs do not react in any way at all. As if you didn't just trip over it. Both dogs are very clearly taught & reinforced their place in the family at the bottom of the totem pole and both dogs respect their place. They are loving, sweet and playful. It did take a little extra work to get them good on the leash. They were so excited they would yank and pull us down the street from smell to smell. Eventually WE figured out our role & took charge. We never had any expensive trainers for our sweet pups. #1 had one private session with a trainer that helped us understand his strong & dominant personality. It taught us a lot about how to handle the dog. I did take #2 to some weekly group training for a few months when she was about 2. That really helped with leash training. Due to the character of our new neighborhood #2 isn't very well socialized. She is cautious around people so I keep her on a short leash. She ignores other animals (except squirrels) unless they are aggressive to her first. #1 was well socialized. As adult dog, he was aloof and ignored new dogs or people. I don't let other people pet them either. Plus, both dogs don't really like strangers touching them. One thing for sure, there's not a lot of post-purchase support. If you're having problems, you'll have to find your own solutions at your own vet or trainer. I pretty much expected that buying a dog from out of state. We haven't had any problems that we could solve ourselves. #2 had heart worm, but the cause is difficult to pinpoint, whether she arrived with it (Wayne said she got a clean bill of health upon departure) or picked it up playing in the dirt at our house. With love & medicine from the Vet, that cleared up & she's been clean ever since. As with any dog, they get walked daily to get some 'fresh air' and stimulation. For a while, #2 was indoors unsupervised all day and caused some damage (chewing/tearing carpet, digging holes in drywall, chewing trim). We fixed it and then left her outside with water, open crate, plenty of toys in a big backyard PLUS DAILY walks. When we're home, she's with us the whole time. She sleep indoors. We've had no problems since. She can now stay indoors during super hot or wet weather with no damage. She's never had a potty accident in the house. She asks to go outside or holds it. It seemed as though both dogs were pre-house broken when they came home, they were so good. #1 was just an indoor dog. We had no yard. He was walked twice a day and after the chewing/teething puppy stage he never damaged anything in our home - - not even a potty accident. Both pups flew home, #1 had a bad flight; #2 had a good one. It happens. LOVE our Kraftwerk fur-babies and wouldn't hesitate to get another. read more

Since the above review was made I have talked with Mr Curry and now he is much more aware of Degenerative Myelopathy and how to prevent it with genetic testing. The two dogs that we got from Kraftwerk German Shepherds have been outstanding and wonderful companions that I have loved dearly. I would consider getting another dog from Kraftwerk again in the future as long as the dog tested negative for DM. read more

We have found them to be protective of the family, & never, destructive of the house. We have a Down's Syndrome Daughter, who's life revolves around our Sheperd. He flies with her, sleeps in her room, walks protectively w/ her in our adjacent canyon, & is her best friend. I have always found Wayne Curry, to be helpful, timely, & available. I bought my GSD back in 2004, (from Rabauke and Wanda). When Elsa turned 3 she was diagnosed with EPI (an enzyme deficiency that is genetic). I called Wayne to let him know, so that if Wanda was a carrier, he should be aware. He never returned my call. When my dog was diagnosed, I was told that she would need a lifetime of meds, costing $200 per bottle, and a bottle of enzymes would last 12 days. I calculated this to be 6k per year. Luckily, I found a generic seller (Enzyme Diane) who saved my dog's life. Elsa lived to 10.5 years, and never suffered again from EPI, due to the help of my medical professionals, not due to Wayne's help. I lost Elsa to bone cancer in 2015. read more

I called Wayne and said I wanted an exceptional female, he told me he had one that was so good he held her back - Right... I believed him and bought her for way too much money. I put down a deposit on a 4 week old puppy. I received a invoice which listed a fee for vet exam. I questioned why would I be getting a vet fee when all the pups are being examined. I was told they only pups that go for exams are the ones traveling out of the state. While on the internet I came across numerous complaints concerning this breeder. I emailed and asked whether the breeding pair had been tested for EPI and DM. I also asked for proof of the breeding pairs OFA report. I was instructed to review purchase agreement. I'm disputing charges with my credit card company. If they can't provide simple answers to health of their animals then they shouldn't be selling them. read more

He became very defensive saying I was a troublemaker! If some takes offense at very basic questions as to why an 8-week-old pup in priced over $9000, my suggestion is RN THE OTHER WAY!! Kraftwerk has a lot of good going for it, but to be honest our experience was a mixed bag. We got our dog a couple of years ago, she is beautiful and healthy. I think this is the best part about Kraftwerk is their breeding program. Our Moka is full of life, loving, and protective of our family. Precisely what we wanted. Her back is straight and she is very healthy thus far. Nothing but good things to say about the dog herself, top notch. Our complaint starts to come in on the customer service and communication side of things. We visited Kraftwerk personally when our dog was still under eight weeks old to see her and to get a sense of who we were buying from. On our visit Wayne and our dogs trainer were both very friendly and answered our questions (but did not volunteer some pertinent information) and we got to spend time with the dog before she was ready to be shipped to us. That was great, however the front desk secretary lady was NOT as nearly as helpful. She was very short with us even in person. That said we also paid for the three levels of training as advertised on their website which began after the dog was eight weeks old. This was not a cheap set of lessons it cost $3500 or so. Several months worth. Well needless to say when we got the dog home she was not obedient to the degree that we expected, if to any degree at all. A little research into this revealed that the dog was far too young to expect that training to stick at that age. Well that would have been nice to know ahead of time, but no one at Kraftwerk bothered to mention that to us. Not over the phone, not while we were there in person. Being new to this kind of a dog and program we did not necessarily know all the right questions to ask and it would have been nice if someone had volunteered this information. We did discuss it on the phone, and they confirmed that we should not expect a dog to be trained and fully obedient at such a young age. Ok, well then why are you taking our money now instead of a year from now to do the training? Should have made this clear to us beforehand. As it turned out we had to have her trained again locally when she was older and the training went far better that time. She was about a year and a half old then. So, yes Kraftwerk is good on some things, like with the dogs themselves and the breeding, but dealing with people, not so much. I would like to give Kraftwerk five stars but I just can't. I think they are excellent at what they do, but in our case at least anyway, they need to work on communication with the client. So would I buy another dog from them? Most likely I would, but I would NOT buy a puppy and expect that the Obedience training they offer is going to take on the dog immediately if done immediately after eight weeks. I would buy a dog that is already BH certified at least which means getting a two year old dog. Or maybe buy a puppy, keep it and bring the dog back for BH certification/training at around one year old or so. Or I would get one already certified. I admit that this situation is in part due to my own ignorance about dog training, but this is why you hire a company like Kraftwerk to guide you along the process, not to take your money and do training that is not going to be effective. I feel they did not give us the guidance that we needed in this case. We sure know better now though. read more

I have purchased many dogs from Kraftwerk K9 and all have past my expectation's . Wayne Curry the owner brings back the old working line bloodline, which produces a clean clear headed pup willing to please the handler / family . I personally toured the facilty many times, staff is friendly and kennel is immaculate . When you buy a dog from Wayne you become part of the Kraftwerk K9 family and I think that basically says it all . I highly recommend this kennel and the man behind it , "Wayne Curry" . I cannot say enough about the seamless purchase of our beautiful German Shepherd with Kraftwerk K9. We kept her at the kennel until 12 weeks to have some extra training. They contacted us every week with new pictures so we were able to watch her grow. They have answered any and all questions we have had and continue to support us as we get used to the new baby. I often look up your dogs as I tell many people I know of their high standards and exceptional quality that comes through your experienced breeding program. After having had 4 of our own we would never own another dog from anywhere but you. Our most recent dogs Ceasar and Paris give us lots of pleasure and they seem to be the boss of our house although they can't decide which one of them is the boss. That is okay by us. They often sound as if they are going to kill each other but we know that the sounds they are making are totally playful. People who don't know them are terrified and don't understand why we can smile and laugh. I guess if it is your dog you just know when it is a serious bark. They often watch the neighborhood and our neighbors are very happy with their reactions to strangers in the area. They tell us even though our dogs are behind our fence they feel safer and have noticed that strangers are very careful to keep their distance from our home and those around us. I give you much credit for breeding a dog that can be so guarding and yet so loving to our family. Even when family hasn't been around for a while they immediately recognize them and are loving as soon as they enter our home. They also let strangers know to leave them alone. An acquaintance of my husband came to our home and neither of our dogs liked him. We could tell by the way they barked and growled. This man would not believe that they didn't like him and stuck his fingers through our chain link fence to try to pet Paris. This was after my husband told him repeatedly not to do it. So Paris gave him a good nip and scared him as well. He knows people where my husband works and now says that when Tim (my husband) says they don't like you to stay the heck away. Some people learn the hard way. Another time my Grandson came for a visit and brought his girlfriend who I had never met, even though it had been months since seeing my Grandson and never meeting his girlfriend both of our dogs welcomed them into our home without a problem. They have built in knowledge of who we trust. As I am home alone at odd hours this makes me feel very safe. Paris always goes outside to check who or what is there while Ceasar stays right by my side as he waits for her signal bark to let him know if he should leave my side. We love our dogs very much and they are not just pets but members of our family. I thank you greatly for giving us such wonderful additions to our home. Our next dogs will be trained adult dogs as we are getting a bit too old to do enough work with them. My husband and I have purchased 5 German Shepherds from Kraftwerk K9 over the years as well as donating a puppy to the NY State Trooper K-9 unit. Every single dog that we have gotten from Wayne & staff from Kraftwerk have been exceptional! The staff take the time to answer questions before, during & after the sale. These dogs have had no health issues, have sweet temperaments & are protective of family and friends. Recently we were in the process of getting another puppy but had to cancel the purchase due to a family emergency and I was treated fairly as well as with respect to the situation. It broke our hearts to cancel because we wanted the new puppy! If anyone is looking to get a German Shepherd I recommend Kraftwerk K9. I realize that some reviews aren't favorable but in my experience I have always received fantastic service from the staff and owner as well as every dog has been sweet, healthy & protective that we have received from Kraftwerk! I bought a dog from Kraftwerk K9 three years ago, and I have to concur with the negative reviews here: those people have absolutely no ethics, and only care about squeezing the most cash they can out of your wallet. First, they do not seem to care about their dogs health. They day after my god arrived, I took him to the vet, and he was diagnosed with a Giardia infection and elbow dysplasia. In good faith, I wrote an email to Kraftwerk to warm them about those two conditions, so they might check their other dogs. I did not ask to a refund at any point. They did not answer, and, indeed, did not even acknowledge my email. I've tried to contact them twice by phone, they hung up on me as soon as I said the word dysplasia. I guess they know quite well that some of their dogs are prone to this conditions, and they just don't care. Second, I suspect they abuse their dogs. Ever since he's with us, my dog is is pathologically afraid of bathing, and absolutely hates garden hoses. He was also very reactive and agressive during the first few weeks after his arrival, though this could have been due to the long flight, the stress of a new environment and what not. Third, I am not sure they really train their dogs. Kraftwerk convinced me to pay 1500$ for basic training, which was supposed to include basic German commands and introduction to indoor environment, including stairs. When my dog arrived, he did not obey a single command he was supposed to know. Two days latter, I taught him the sit command in French, but he still did not know it in German, which leads me to conclude that he wasn't trained at all, or just barely. Also, he was completely bewildered by stairs when he first saw them, but was completely confortable in less than a week, which again suggests he was never trained indoors. That being said, my dog is very intelligent, protective and sweet at the same time. Their dogs do have good genetics (with the exception of the elbow dysplasia problem). read more

2 weeks ago my husband and I thought we found our dream protection dog online from K9 Kraftwerk, I spoke to Mary Ann several times at length about IMAX. He was suppossed to be a champion german shepard with titles and training worth $38,000.00. After thinking and receiving information from them, we decided to purchase IMAX. He was scheduled on a flight a few days later. I went to the airport to pick our champion, well trained beautiful german shepard, (they had sent photos of another dog), at LAX. I recived a very different dog that was emaciated, scared and not well trained. I texted Mary Ann from the airport and sent her pictures of the dog that arrived. He smelled like defacation and was terrified. She texted back "sounds like he is dehydrated! take him to the vet and scan his microchip, its IMAX". Everything about these people is so creepy, dark and scary. Imax has definitley been abused, starved and neglected. I had the manager of United Airlines (he was on a cargo flight with them) write about the horrifying shape of the dog I recieved. I hired a SUV to pick up the dog and he was extremely sad about his condition as well. We got scammed by these people, they also used my husbands credit card two more times totalling $9,500.00!!! I brought him home and cared for him and fed him and loved him. He was shaky and anxious and hungry and scared. It was very obvious from the first day that this dog came from a very scary situation. I signed a contract with them that staed I could return the dog within 72 hours without question. During those first 72 hours they were very difficult to get a hold of and responded vaguely, and without much sense. We then explained the situation to american express (who also informed us of their fraudulent charges) and had them reveresed. Its been a week since I heard from them and I have been caring for a sick and abused, albeight beautiful and sweet, german shepard. I have a rescue dog already and he is in worse shape than she was, and she was found abandoned and tied to a trailer. I am continuing to care for and love this dog, we have a vet appointment tomorrow and I am hoping it wont be too expensive to save this dogs life, but I am determined to do it. I randomly got an email plane ticket for IMAX today in my email, a flight scheduled to leave from LAX tomorrow. This prompted me to investigate more and find this website. I cant even beleive they would have the nerve!!!! They obviously realized we disputed the charges. These people are crooks, animal abusers, liars and theives. I'm purchasing my 3rd Kraftwerk K9 puppy. This will be my 7th AKC GSD. I'm spending $5500 for a puppy from Kraftwerk K9 because I believe I'll get my moneys worth. I've read a number of the bad reviews. People have to realize that dogs can have medical issues. German Shepherds are maybe not for everyone. The two dogs I've purchased prior have been an incredible blessing in my families life. We can't wait to get our new Kraftwerk K9 puppy! He's just 5 weeks old at this writing. Our experience with the Kraftwerk trainers and especially with our dog have been phenomenal. Our dog is a fantastic addition to the family - sweet, gentle and has a very steady and predictable temperament. She loves kids of all ages and tolerates our friends' babies flopping on her, pulling her ears, etc. without any sign of annoyance. She's also very watchful, but in a polite way and she has the trademark Kraftwerk protection capability should we ever need it. Best of all, she's a great family pet and I appreciate having her at the house with my kids and our nanny when I can't be there. When they're out for a walk, nobody hassles them. When they sit down for lunch, the dog just lays quietly next to their feet. She's always there but never in the way. When I look at the cost of the dog and the value of the peace of mind and companionship she provides my family, I don't see us ever NOT having a Kraftwerk protection dog. read more

I completely 100% agree with all the negative reviews regarding Kraftwerk kennels. There was zero follow up to even make sure she arrived safely at the airport when we picked her up. I thought for sure, our salesman Jason would call as he acted like he truly loved Savvy as her own when she was a puppy with them. My precious Savvy is 8 years old now and is the daughter of Wayne's German Shepherd who won AKC National Championships for protection in 2007 (Its on You TUBE!) In purchasing such an expensive puppy, believing the bloodlines were to be of the highest quality, I expected to have a healthy puppy. When I picked her up, she drooled incessantly for the hour car ride home and from that point on, threw up for every car or boat trip she took for three years. Through lots of love and calmness, this motion sickness ended- The vet said she had experienced trauma to be so nervous. Like other reviews, at age 5 Savvy was diagnosed with a debilitating condition similar to Lou Gehrig's disease and the symptoms mimic torn ACL'S. It is heartbreaking to see her now have the agility to run on our acre like she use to all day long and she can't even get up off the floor anymore without wincing. We are managing with pain meds and a couple other meds to help with any extra inflammation- Savvy has gained twenty pounds because she can't exercise even though she is only eating 2.5 cups of food a day at 85 pounds! I love her dearly and she is everyone's best friend- I expected more from Kraftwerk and some sort of acknowledgement regarding her condition. Never a returned phone call or email response. We purchased a 2 year old "obedience trained" dog from Kraftwerks K9 last month at a very high $$. We spoke to Wayne on the phone for about 30 minutes before we confirmed purchase. He told us that our dog would be highly trained, obedient, protective, etc. We read the entire website and felt confidence. After the first day with our dog, we could tell he was uncomfortable. He wouldn't sit down and kept scratching his ears. We let him sleep in the crate at night for 2 nights until he felt comfortable in the house. The next few nights we let him out and he went #1 and #2 all over the house. In fact, if we are in the other room for 5 minutes, he manages to have an accident somewhere. We have a huge outdoor area and take him on hikes and walks everyday. And he still gets nervous and has accidents inside. We emailed Kraftwerks right away - 2 emails, 0 response. Then we found worms in our dog's stool. We took our dog to the vet and they found he had a double ear infection and flatworms. It's been over 2 weeks and we still have not heard our dog bark. Not 1 bark. He is terrified of everything - to the point where it seems he has experienced trauma. I do not understand how he could possible be a protection dog, since he cannot bark and runs away from small dogs and any loud sound. Yesterday, I called Kraftwerks and felt lucky that Wayne answered. I asked him to please explain again what type of training our dog has and what was his health condition when he left their facility. He would not answer my questions. He wouldn't speak at all. He insisted I first tell him why I am calling. So I explained that I am concerned for my dog's health and curious about why he is not barking. I explained that I live alone most of the week and was under the impression that I would have a protective dog in my company and he doesn't even bark when someone comes to the door. He refused to acknowledge any of my concerns. His only words were, "We will stick to the terms of the contract. I will not engage in conversation with you." And then he hung up on me. I sat there for a minute to try to process what had just happened. I've never been treated that way. My previous 2 emails to the staff at Kraftwerks still remain unanswered. We already love our dog - so we are not mad at our dog. And we show him as much love as we can. We just didn't get what we asked for or paid for. We feel scammed. I am astounded at the poor level of customer service provided by the organization as a whole. I am shocked and in disbelief that Wayne himself would treat me this way. And I am concerned about the health of the dogs at the facility - since our sweetheart arrived in such distress. Everything would be different if someone at least had the decency to pick up the phone or return an email to explain or hear my concerns or say something. But as soon has they had our money we have been ignored. I am disappointed in myself for not doing further research, now that I see so many similar reviews. The only thing I can say is that I am grateful we rescued this dog from Kraftwerks. Because if this is how the organization treats their customers... and then I read reviews on how they treat their employees...I can only imagine how the dogs feel. I pray for the wellbeing of the animals in the facility. I hope any employees that work there who do not feel aligned with Wayne or the working conditions have another option for work so that they can leave. I will be reporting the business to the bureau in Washington State. If anyone else knows what I can do, please let me know. I would like some further investigation done at the Kraftwerks K9 facility. And I would like to see Wayne, himself, take accountability. I would also love resources on how to reverse dog's trauma and properly train, with love and patience and care. I am grateful to have purchased Flori Vom Haus Kismar from Wayne Curry at Kraft Werk K9 in August 2019. Flori came home to us at 8 years of age. She was once one of Kraftwerk's breeding females. I will start by saying this, that I am perfectly happy with Flori. She is a confident, loving, and very sensible dog. I never have to worry about her, I only get to enjoy her constant companionship. Her obedience training is sound. She loves to work! She has the energy of a young maiden & hardly ever sheds. Her blood work and health screenings always come back perfect. I've never known such a healthy 8 year old shepherd before. She is constantly playing with my toddler & very gentle with her as well. She travels with me everyday to the university, into various buildings, waiting areas, and is always on her best manners. She is versatile and does well in the car, in the city, around other animals, and also in the fields of the ridge we live on. She is our protector. She is our family. I will only work with Kraftwerk K9 from now on. read more

Wow...I can't believe there are any positive reviews. Our Kraftwerk GSD is now 8 years old, and we are grateful for every day with him -- and imagine that his life will be shorter than average. He has digestive issues, and we feed him raw food, bones, expensive food. He has orthopedic problems since he was a pup -- elbow dysplasia, and back pain. He is the smartest most capable dog -- and we never trained him whatsoever! He responds to conversations, and also whenever we ask for help. Head and shoulders the finest, and most challenging temperament - not for amateurs. HOWEVER -- I follow these yelp reviews because Kraftwerk is not a reputable organization. This is a sales group and ego driven organization -- there is no empathy for any of these animals or consumers and I am sad that we supported them by buying a puppy in 2012. It would be better to get a dog somewhere else. Yes, these are fine dogs -- but not worth the risk of not knowing the problems you are buying. Buyer beware! These guys are super friendly when you buy the dog but ruthlessly unhelpful when/if your dog has a problem. I also purchased a dog from Kraftwerk K9 who was later found to have elbow dysplasia, a common genetic defect in large breed german shepherds (more common than hip dysplasia). Vet bills for surgical repair topped $4,000. Kraftwerk K9 were unwilling to even consider a partial refund to help with vet fees even though the condition was discovered within one year of purchase. These guys are all about their bottom line. $$. I'll never buy another dog from them. I purchased a GSD from Kraftwerk K-9 almost 4 years ago. My dog arrived in reasonably good shape although the trip from Washington to Louisville was definitely hard on a little puppy. The day after he arrived I took him to my vet for a thorough examination. He had diarrhea which turned out to be from Giardia generally caused by unsanitary kennel conditions. The big problem with my dog was that he was cryptorchid (testicles failed to drop). This is something that they say every male puppy is checked for prior to sale. This is a genetic flaw that disqualifies a dog from being shown or bred. I called Kraftwerk immediately and was told by Wayne that I should wait to see if my puppy's testicles would drop, even though my vet said it was unlikely. Wayne said if they didn't he would treat it like hip displacia for warranty purposes and I could either return the puppy for a replacement (at my cost of course) or if he was still cryptorchid by 1 year old, I could get another puppy 1/2 price. I told him I would prefer a partial refund because I liked the puppy but it wasn't the quality of animal that he advertised. When my puppy was 9 months old his condition hadn't changed and I called Kraftwerk numerous times and could not get Wayne Curry on the phone even leaving messages with his office manager about the situation. I also emailed him several times including attaching a video clip of him checking the testicles of male puppies that he has posted on his website. Bottom line I kept the dog but had to pay for neutering involving opening his abdominal cavity. I love my dog but I hate Kraftwerk. They are friendly and accommodating as can be until you have a problem and then they abandon you. For the price they charge for their dogs customer satisfaction should be paramount for them but they just don't care once they get your money. As much as I love my dog and overall don't regret buying him, I would NEVER consider getting another puppy from Kraftwerk. There are plenty of legitimate breeders where you can buy a quality puppy for less money and certainly get reasonable service. read more
