I won an on-line auction for an item offered by Kraft Auction Service. As others have noted, shipping costs are high. When I received the item it was not as described, unsafe to use, and had an clearly visible area of alteration was not mentioned or depicted in the photos. I tried to work with the auction house and used the LiveAuctioneers' mediation service without success. I am disputing the charges with my credit card company. I also filed complaints with the Indiana Attorney General's office (free) and the Northern Indiana BBB (also free). Small claims court is not an option, as I am out of state. My takeaways are these: I will not bid on an item I can't physically inspect and pickup myself. I have also discovered that the buyer's premiums for auctions local to me are in the 10-15% range, a much better deal. read more

After purchasing it I realized that they intentionally hid known problems with the vehicle, including warning lights that would have significantly reduced the value. I have bought tons of items from Kraft auctions. I'm not sure why all the low reviews as I've had good customer service every time I've bought items. I buy locally as I'm close to their headquarters and remote locations. I have bought guns, air compressors, battery chargers, torpedo heaters, mini fridges,etc. I will say that every once and a while you will get a dud item. I bought a shop vac that was junk. I wish they'd test all the items or specify if they do not work, but the other shop vac I bought was brand new (scratch and dent). It was more of the sellers fault then Kraft. I will continue to buy from them as a lot of the stuff is new and has a dent or a damaged box. Just take your time and look at the pictures and read the descriptions carefully. read more

VERY SCAMMY FOR BUYERS AND SELLERS! Lots of fraud. I got paid for items I sold and had other people's items on my check. I called to let them know there was a mistake I left a message. After 2 weeks no call back so I called again and left another message. I called many times until finally I got someone. I got chewed out for being a crook and stealing from Them. If I hadn't said anything somebody wouldn't have gotten their money for what they sold. They made me void my check and threatened me if I were to cash it I would be sued. Remote buyers, beware! I would give them zero stars if I could. Shipping services TOTALLY take advantage of buyers. I bought a sports pin back on one of their auctions. They won't provide ANY shipping estimates or shipping info prior to purchase. The pin would weight an ounce or less. They quoted the shipping at $14.10! $3 handling, $2 for a 6 x 6 box, estimated the weight at a POUND and charged $9.10 shipping! I have bought and sold/shipped similar items in a padded envelope for less than $3.00. They offered to take off the price of the box, small relief for the ridiculous price. I forfeited the item, so they still got my money. Will NEVER buy from this auction house again--remotely or in person. read more

Kraft review I can only speak in terms of purchasing a firearm through them. With that said, I'd highly advise against using them. Long story short, I initially ran into some issues when I attempted to pick up my purchase. Needless to say, the staff was very kind and apologetic. However, the next 4 weeks of attempting to have my item shipped through their FFL was a disaster. Over the course of four weeks, I sent emails weekly asking if the issues were resolved, the Kraft FFL never once returned ANY of my emails. I had to call Kraft's FFL multiple times a week for 4 weeks on end, and he promised to call / email with updates to which he never did either of. In addition, my FFL I've used successfully for multiple years had to send their information to Kraft 7 times, in different formats. Over those 7 times, I sent emails asking Kraft's FFL (After my FFL confirmed they sent/ resent their license) if they were successfully delivered or if they needed my FFL to resend... to which no response at all. Finally, I resulted in calling the Kraft FFL team every day, nearly 5 weeks after I had already paid over $2000 for the item. Their FFL seemed very annoyed I was calling, very unorganized, and never once apologized for not answering any of my emails and voicemails the past 4 weeks and having such a simple issue delayed. I am not the type to expect top tier service. I understand things happen, people get sick, emails get sent to spam sometimes. But this was negligent, disrespectful, and unacceptable in my opinion. I've purchased numerous firearms online from various auctions, and have never had any issues. Sure, a 2-4 day email delay is normal and expected, but Kraft never once emailed me back, or emailed my FFL back for that matter. My FFL took it upon themselves to call Kraft's firearms team 3 times in addition to me calling them, and emailing their license 7 different times. I would never buy through Kraft again, which is a shame because aside from their FFL, their staff was excellent and polite. Unfortunately the only person on their staff that could fix such a small issue was their FFL. I never write negative reviews, or any reviews for that matter. But this will be posted to make future buyers aware. The Kraft FFL lead needs to immediately be removed from his position. read more

Kraft Auction Service lost one of the lots (action figures) and offered no compensation for their error. Additionally, they charged me $17.10 to send the small lot of vintage stickers. I addressed my concerns regarding the lost items and the excessive shipping charges. The man I spoke with showed a lack of compassion, and was very short with me, very dismissive. But, the people running the outfit seem to have forgotten what customer service means. No one knows what the other is doing. Is the product in valpo or somewhere else. I inquired about shipping on an item that said it had shipping as an option being I am out of state. Asked for a shipping quote prior to bidding and I am told no shipping. I registered without a problem and my registration stated where I am from. Asked questions and the shipper is rude. I was told Bobby is a third party shipper and goes into New York State. He replies to my email saying he was going in today and would give me a quote. Never heard a word from him. The furniture we were attempting have Kraft sell/auction on our behalf is dated, but in immaculate conditions. They had no interest in 1960-1980 furniture even if high quality and very clean. They stated that era furniture has no value. It could be they don't have the buyer demographic for it. We did not have enough pieces for an estate sale. I really don't think Kraft Auction Service evens warrants a single star review, but you have to give them that to post here. I called them just before their February 3rd on-line "47th Anniversary Collector Cars & Pedal Cars" auction closed. Adam was the associate I talked with - after asking pinpoint questions about the car's body & motor, he made it clear that the car was drivable and that the body was sound without bondo or other filler. His exact quote was "he has driven it and it started rough, but after warming up ran great, the body appears to be solid metal without any major flaws anywhere. The only known problem to him was a loud exhaust, felt it had a leak around the manifold. I questioned him because the pictures didn't show much up close, he assured me it was a great car. We wouldn't have up the bid without his assurance. The car was sold to us for $13,000, which is way above it's fair retail value - it doesn't run as Kraft Auction Service said, there are no brakes and won't run with a new battery. The body has had major body work using bondo including both doors, behind and around all wheel wells, the roof, trunk areas. Told by local mechanic to repair the brakes it would take up to $2,000, then you still can't check the engine because it doesn't run. I was willing to repair the exhaust at our expense. After the car arrived, I talked with Adam, he told me he was sorry for the misrepresentation, then put me on hold. Next on the line was John Kraft, who presented himself as the owner. In part of our conversation, he stated the company is above the law, all he has to do is show his "terms and conditions", the main condition they got the bid was Adam's phone conversation. I assumed he knew about the these cars because that's who the company used to call me back. Anyway, $15,000 with fees out of our pocket for a car that won't drive down the driveway - and an owner who's company misrepresents what is sells and refuses to resend the deal, should be enough to keep anyone away from his sales. I would not recommend Jonathan Kraft or his auction. We purchased two vehicles from his auction. One we received a title for and the other we never did. I contacted him and he said he would look into it and call me back. He also said I should have called sooner and he could have helped? What is that suppose to mean. I never received a call back from him. I tried contacting him again and left messages and no response at all! I later had my attorney send him a letter requesting title within 10 days or we would be returning the vehicle and refund money and expenses occurred. He never responded to that letter! I have then tried calling and leaving messages and no response!!!! BAD business! Next I will be finding his location with police to see why he cant handle this situation where he is at fault! Mr Kraft came to my deceased Mother's estate and said the only way for them to make money was to not only take the big stuff but also to take all the little stuff. Well, I haven't even gone through all the boxes at that point so I said "not at this time." Two weeks later I call him to say I think I need his services. I called him at 10:15 am, he was getting ready to start an auction and asked if I could call later that evening. I called him at 8:31 pm and left a message. It was late, I gave him a pass on that result. Then I thought maybe on Sunday he takes off since Saturday is a busy auction day. Two days later on Monday at 12:25 pm I called and left a message because he hadn't returned my call. Two days? No call. I called again today about 5 hours ago. No return call. Apparently Mr J. Kraft has so much business he can choose to ignore someone in need of his services for which he wanted 50% if he did it at his location. Well, congratulations to him on being so busy. Though since he doesn't return phone calls, the ones he services must be desperate or gullible. Should he ever call, charge me reasonably and perform absolutely outstanding service I may be able to bring him up to 3 stars for trying to make it right. read more

I am a frequent online auction bidder/buyer. On 1/8/16 I waited on the computer for several hours waiting for my item to come up for bid. When it did it was quickly skipped over and no online bidding was allowed. I phoned them for an explanation and was told they were busy and that I would have to send them an email (wasting even more of my time). I will survive not winning my item of interest. When I checked the auction results I was surprised the item sold for FAR LESS than I would have paid - as in hundreds less. It's unfortunate for their consignor who would have made much more money had this auction house done a more competent job managing the bidding process. Received a check and list of the 21 items that sold...wait a minute - 21??? Yes. The other 9 items went MIA. This is not a reputable company to use if you want to sell something on consignment. I would never recommend using Kraft Auction services. Jon gave very little info, I had to ask about contract and itemized list. They missed first appointment to pick up with no notice. They arrived to pick up without packing materials to secure things in truck and piled and jammed them in scratching things. Could not get all in first truck which Jon knew upon first contact--said they would come back same day for second truck but workers said they had to be somewhere else so did not come back until morning of auction. One walkthru with Jon and three days of my time to pick up---we received less than $1000 check with itemized statement that did not identify anything except for a few pieces. The heartbreaking part was that almost everything sol for $10-$30. This was almost the entire house full of furniture including big furniture, antiques, entire sets of antique dishes, silver and collectibles. They Do Not Use Minimums on the auction so stuff went ridiculously cheap and now I see in shops in the area for big price tags. We were robbed, don't use this company! read more

Dealing with John Kraft is a nightmare. Not sure about being his customer as I've never been on that end. But He was a customer of ours the last position I had, and he was the rudest most unprofessional person I've ever spoke to (I have been in customer service for 10 years) He was unhappy about a piece of equipment he bought from us. His secretary or assistant (not sure) called to place a call for us to come look at his equipment at 4:30 in the after noon (our office closes at 5) so I let her know someone would be out the next day. She was very nice and said that would be fine. Not ten minutes later he called and screaming obscenities (I can't even write what he said it was so bad) he left me in tears so I got him to a manager as I couldn't even talk to this guy anymore. Two days later I WAS fired because he placed a complaint about ME so bad that my company had to let me go to keep him as a customer. I was just the person answering the phones!!
