It is located on the UG Upper Ground Floor of the Nuwa casino hotel. The GM for the hotel was standing in front of the restaurant to greet us! I did not realize I was that SPECIAL. The table setting was simply gorgeous. It was very simply stated yet simply luxurious, with it's gold rimmed tea pot and the gold plated chopstick holder. My companion Kim was simply swept off her feet by this display of simple luxury. I ordered way too much items because I was so excited to be in this magnificent dining room. I ordered 2 Foie Gras dishes and a truffle stuffed chicken dish, a fish maw soup, a walnut chicken dish, an abalone shiumai. We could only manage to consume 1/2 of what I ordered plus they gave us an complimentary gold flaked lobster dumpling and a bird cage full of little chocolate bird deserts. You would think that I really must have won the casino with my gregarious gambling!

We had an excellent dining experience. The staff was great and the food superb! I don't even know where to start. From the moment we walked into the restaurant as we were escorted into our private dining room every one was very warm and friendly. As they served every course they explained what we were having. We were stuffed. Everything we ordered was a treat to our palates..

Restaurant has been around for a few years but it's our first time to go there. They have basement and mezzanine level parking. It's a huge place with hotel like entrance. The food was delicious! Been so long since I've had a banquet dinner at this level. 10 courses. Started with the suckling pig appetizer. Skin was crispy and meat was tender. Next was the clear fish maw soup... yummy! The steamed grouper was super fresh and perfectly cooked. Roasted pigeon were tasty. Skin was seasoned the way I remember it growing up with crispy kropeks. Highlights for me include the steamed crabs... came with 3 crabs and six giant claws! The mushroom with abalone was also delicious. Mushrooms were soft and abalone tender and the sauce tied it all together. Then we had the fillers (in case you are hungry still after all the food)... taro with scallop. It was crispy on the outside and the taro overpowered the taste of the scallop inside. Also had seafood noodles that were ok. For desserts, we had the mango pudding shaped like a giant fish with a half cherry as its eye and a peanut like mochi. Both were very good. Staff were friendly and efficient. Changing our plates as new dishes come out. They function like a well-oiled machine. Definitely check them out if you want try Chinese fine dining in Manila. They are well known for wedding and events. Happy New Year to everyone!

I haven't seen it elsewhere) and it is right in front of Duty Free Shopping Mall in Parañaque. It is as you would expect any Chinese restaurant that's been there for quite a while: a little run down, smelling of bleach, the toilet (which is right next to the counter/kitchen, hmm) smells strongly of urinal cake... But somehow, families find themselves flocking to Luk Foo every time there's a big occasion... Or rather, anytime they want to eat Chinese food that's not just dumplings. Luk Foo has some of the best and affordae Chinese cuisine I've ever had. They're particularly known for the fresh sea food they have swimming in the tanks outside the restaurant. Our family always orders the steamed grouper (Lapu-Lapu), prawn with garlic sotanghon and salt and pepper crab. You won't regret ordering a full seafood menu, they're all fresh from the tanks! And if you're at a loss with what to order, you can always ask the waitresses or the manager, because they give pretty damn good recommendations. This is a good place to celebrate any occasion-- just as long as you're not bothered with how gritty it is.

The food itself has a nice variety from offering dimsum to Peking duck and braised pork. Although the food was enjoyable, we noticed there was a cockroach crawling on our table in the middle of the meal. If it didn't have that, I would've rated this 5 stars. Maybe would recommend this on a less busy day when the staff has more time to clean up? P.S. the food really is good, which is why it's not a 1 star from the cockroach. If this was the US, it would be one of those restaurants with a low food safety grade/score but still open because the food is just that good.

Since I cannot watch movies without a siopao or two to munch on, I'm glad there's a Kowloon House near where I used to live. It's in a strip mall fronting Brazil street, which makes it not too far from SM Bicutan. Whether asado or bola-bola, Kowloon has been able to maintain its terrific taste over the decades. This place is open until late into the evening, so whenever the urge hits, I can be sure that I can get my favourite jumbo siopao practically anytime. Kowloon claims to have the "world's best dimsum" and it's not an idle boast. How else could it have survived for the longest time? However, the outlet along Dona Soledad Avenue says it's open 24 hours a day, but there have been several occasions when I passed by and it was closed for business. The place is more kiosk than restaurant, by the way. There are only a handful of tables and chairs, but that's ok. Most customers order take out anyway. There's been only one out of so many times when I wasn't totally satisfied with my Kowloon siopao. The taste seemed funny, close to spoiling. I chalk up that one bad experience to their possibly recycling unsold siopao. Or maybe it was just one bad batch out of thousands sold every month. I've been crazy for Kowloon House siopao ever since I was a kid. I still am. Five stars for the world's best dimsum!
