A-MA-ZING. That's what this place is. We pass by this non-assuming restaurant at last 4 times a…read moreweek and never gave it much thought. Then a neighbor invited us to dinner and took us here, and now we can't stop going here! There are SO many things on their menu that we can't wait to try. So far, we have had the following: Let me start with dessert, the Creme Brulé is to die for, we get it every single time if there's any still available. We buy it when we walk in the door, before dinner, because it might be gone before we're done eating. Yes sir, it's that good. Now on to what we've had so far. The Apple Pecan salad is a must try, just order the dressing on the side and go sparingly so it doesn't overpower the rest of the awesome ingredients like fuji apples, candied pecans and feta cheese (yum, yum, yummy). The first thing I ate there was the Marge-a-rita, made into a calzone, it was heaven. Made with all fresh ingredients and a homemade marinara served on the side. I'm not normally a red sauce / marinara person but I took the rest of it home, I certainly wasn't going to leave it there! My husband had the Deluxe pizza and said it was fantastic. And of course we had the Creme Brulé for dessert. That Friday, we took our friends out for dinner and brought them here. This time we ordered 4 Brulés before heading upstairs for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised that they had live music up there. A singer named Robert Lee played guitar and harmonica and sang everything from country to Pink Floyd to Fleetwood Mac. He had a beautiful voice and was very entertaining. We will definitely be looking to see him play again. This time I had the Apple Pecan salad, of course, and the Salsa Blanc pizza with sweet Italian sausage made into a calzone. This was an excellent pizza EXCEPT they forgot the sausage and there was at least 20 big cloves of roasted garlic packed into that calzone. WAY too much, if you ask me. One of our friends had the Grilled Deluxe Cheese Melt and he said it was amazing. I give this place 5 stars for delicious, fresh ingredients, the servers are extremely friendly and we got our food fairly quickly. The only down sides, in my opinion, is since it's a small venue it can get really loud, and the service on Friday night left us a little disappointed. Again, our order was a little messed up and our server (who I believe was the manager) should stick to managing. He was super nice but he had a lot of irons in the fire and waiting tables is not what he should be doing. Other than that, we WILL be going back because there are so many more items on their menu that I can't wait to try.

Kenny's isn't…read morelooking to take over the world, but if you're within a day's drive of Bowling Green, there's probably a nearby cheesemonger that carries these beautiful cheeses. So why make the backroads trek to the source? For one thing, you can sneak a peek at the cheese-making operation. The process is very labor-intensive. Better still, you can walk around the corner to see the much more automated milking operation. A couple years ago, team Kenny invested in a new barn and robots to feed and milk the cows. They use lasers to read the cow udders, people. LASERS ON UDDERS I tell ya. Another reason to visit is that they've set up two very reasonably-priced Airbnb rooms in that sparkling new barn, right above the cows. Yes, they leave cheese samples in the refrigerator. Bring your own wine and bug spray and kick back on the patio. Pet the many cats. Meet Kenny if you're lucky. Hike in nearby Mammoth Cave. Who doesn't need a cheese weekend? I sure do. We really enjoyed our cheese-centered vacation and I now intend to center future vacations on cheese-related destinations. Finally, the store likely carries some specialty cheeses that your local store doesn't. Stock up, eat up, brag to your friends.

Parking lot was deserted when I arrived and I had the undivided attention of the bartender who gave me a lot of info about the place. It's a relatively new distillery. It has to be because this backward county didn't legalize alcohol sale and manufacture until 2016! Believe it or not. And it's a fairly large scale operation judging by the size of the tanks. I tried a flight of 4 or 5 whiskies, bourbons, and a moonshine. The pours were adequate, neither too small nor too big. Honestly, none of them were great but they were all acceptable except the moonshine. Moonshine in my opinion is just unfinished whiskey, suitable only as a gift to bring home to Northerners for their amusement. And ridiculous concoctions like peanut butter whisky - artificially flavored. It tastes as weird as it sounds - avoid! My rating is based more on the overall experience than the actual whiskies. I enjoyed talking with the bartender, then taking my flight off to a table and relaxing for a while in the quiet and out of the heat. I bought a couple of airplane-size bottles and a cool tee shirt. And there was a cat.
