I love when new interesting street vendors show up at Kerb, so when I saw Kothu Kothu, I had to give them a try. In case you don't know (and why would you?), kothu is a Sri Lankan dish made up of some sort of roti. However, everything is just kind of chopped up and cooked together which makes for easy eating!
I opted for the mutton. It's quite an interesting experience to see them making it on the grill as everything gets cooked on it and chopped up and mixed together with big metal blades, then it is scooped into a box to eat. Then they put some chili flakes and yogurt on top with a wedge of lime.
It's a lot of food to be honest, which is fairly nice. I'd mostly cooked vegetables, so it's probably a lot healthier than you think it is too. The food was really tasty and gave me the flavors of Sri Lanka that I grew to love when I was living in a town with two Sri Lankan restaurants. It's a nice addition to the Kerb family, and I may go back again on a cold day when I want a nice hot container of food. read more
