    Dragon Fire Martial Arts

    Dragon Fire Martial Arts

So glad that my daughter chose Dragon Fire to practice martial arts. She started 6 years ago,…read moreafter moving from Sanford, and leaving her previous school. Kyoshi Andy Campbell is the child whisper!! There is not one obstacle he won't help a child over come... be it physical, behavioral, you name it. My daughter started as a green belt in Kenpo, starting at a new school, with a new style, THE STYLE Shotokan. Though she never wore DragonFire's white belt, she had to learn every form in order from the start. She quickly made it to earn her own Shotokan Green Belt! Today she is a second degree black belt at his school. She is a senior in high school and teaches the little samurai's and gives private lessons. Because of DragonFire she has had the opportunity to travel around the country competing with the best martial artists in the world. Kyoshi Andy is the most patient, gracious man. He will teach your children respect, self confidence, values, and morals. He will show your child that hard work AND having fun do go hand in hand. Kyoshi Andy is a long standing world champion himself. Holding so many titles, rings, and belts I couldn't give you a number. He puts 100% of his heart into his school, students, and method of teaching. Most importantly, he treats every child as if they were his own. If you are looking into martial arts, look no further. He offers classes of all ages, all levels. He has tuition packages for families!! There is no tuition contract with DragonFire, which is unheard of. Kyoshi runs off the honor system. Come try out the school.

Andy, Joe, and everyone has helped in her opening up. Pushing her to do more out of her comfort zone. They teach life lessons that will grow with her. They all are a great group of people. I love this place so, so much, and I'm so grateful to have them in our community. We first came…read morehere because my son's school recommended that he try some type of physical practice to help gain core strength and dexterity. He started in the Little Dragons program at age 4, and now has a purple belt at age 9. Thanks to Riverview, my son is confident, kind, and strong. I love the values they teach as well as the fitness program. They teach the kids to love themselves and each other; the atmosphere is supportive and community-oriented. In fact, I was so impressed with the community that I joined up myself. I have since transitioned from the martial arts program to the kickboxing program for timing reasons, but I am stronger than I have ever been, and capable of doing things I wouldn't have imagined ten years ago. The kickboxing program is a killer workout! It's really fun and empowering. Now, my little girl (4) has joined the martial arts program, and my stepdaughter and son did martial arts and kickboxing (respectively) while they were in high school until they left for college. I would recommend this place to anyone seeking a community rooted in kindness, respect for self, others, and nature, and self-care of both the physical and spiritual kinds.

I'm overweight, I eat bad, I drink too much... and this class almost killed me!! In a totally good way. It's hard, really hard. You work at a high intensity pace for 60 minutes and can burn up to 800 calories. It is no joke. You can make modifications of things if you can't do certain things, but you will still work hard. You will sweat like you never have before! The thing I loved the most was that it was a great work out, but I didn't wake up in lots of pain. I felt great everyday. The trainers are very good at their jobs and so welcoming every day. I recommend to anyone that wants a great workout in a beautiful gym with wonderful trainers.

Aikido of Maine blends the art, philosophy and safety consciousness that I think is important for making the practice and study of Aikido fun and comfortable but also very constructive and useful. After one month of regular classes, I already feel like I am changing mentally and physically. My strength, coordination, mental focus are improving. It is easy to feel empowered and strong. My daughter and I started at the same time and she too is showing signs of the same type of positive change. Ania and Gary Small are wonderful teachers. They are the type of people you want teaching your children. I am thrilled to have them as my teachers as well. I am yet to meet a member of the dojo that I don't like. Everyone is respectful, careful and eager to help new members and seasoned members alike. AOM is a really wonderful place. After two weeks I began recommending it to many of my patients and friends and I will continue to make this recommendation for physical and mental health optimization.
