This was a cute little spot to have our first breakfast here. From the outside it does not look as big as it is on the inside. I liked our table view because we can look outside and see the boats coming in from the water gassing up and then getting back onto route. The service here was friendly and nice as well. This particular weekend was their customer appreciation weekend so all of their residence Were in for a good night of celebration. I had the biscuit and gravy meal, which is really great with a cup of coffee on the side. Also very reasonable and pricing. Very clean inside and seems to be a great place for a lot of locals and visitors to have breakfast brunch or lunch. I want to say they close around 3 PM most days so read more

Korth's Pirates Lair is an old school Delta marina that's been around since the 1930s and probably saw its heyday sometime in the 50s through the 60s. Situated at the confluence of the San Joaquin and Mokelumne Rivers near the central Delta, Korth's can be a good starting point if your destinations include the Frank's Tract area to the southwest or the two forks of the Mokelumne and their attendent offshoots to the east (Potato, Hog, Sycamore and Beaver Sloughs, for example). Navigation tip: be aware of the shoals as you cross the San Joaquin when leaving Korth's during the lower part of the tide. You may sandblast a prop and skeg doing this, or much worse... I'm the type who finds the more dilapidated marinas, whose times have surely come and gone, to be quaint, charming relics of Delta history but the grounds and facilities here are surprisingly well kept for a place this old. Korth's is actually quite nice for a marina that's been in existence since the Depression and still remains a popular place to launch. It's a neat sight to approach the Pirates Lair by water and watching the palm trees and greenery come into view like an oasis tucked into a busy, watery highway system. Services at Korth's include a cafe with outdoor dining, covered berths for rich dudes and their big ol' yachts ("Delta Destroyers"), a fuel dock and launch ramp. Be aware that their launch ramp may seem narrow or small to some and is situated perpedicular to the narrow levee road--it may be tricky to negotiate if you haven't launched there before. Easy for a bassboat but probably harder for guys with larger craft or fratboy jerkasses and their wakeboard/ski boats. The ramp fee is a very low $7 which makes Korth's one of the least expensive places to launch in the Delta. read more

My gal and I stopped for Corn Beef and Cabbage on St Pats. We walked in and asked the gal if they were serving lunch and she said they do but we closed early today. This is the Delta and it was winter and it was 1:00 and no one was there; so we didn't think anything of it. We tried again to go there for lunch earlier this summer and as we were walking in the waitress looked at us and said "we just closed"! There were people in there; but we didn't look to see if they had eaten or not. We didn't think much of it at the time and went to the next of many places in the area. Then Sunday we tried again, this time for breakfast. There were two tables outside and both had received their food. Two tables inside were waiting on their food and the rest of the place was completely empty and tables were clean. We walked past the cashier who was giving someone their change and a waitress came up to us and said it would be a 45 minute wait and just kept walking! So it turns out they HATE bikers! We are clean cut and wear nice clothes, no visible tats do not ride loud bikes ect... After talking to several others, I found out our suspicions were in fact true. read more

Nice location but bring your gold card! This is one of, if not, the most expensive marina's in the entire Delta. Slip rates are very high and the fuel prices are astronomical! Management is very strict here, be prepared to be spoken to if you violate one of many unwritten rules. Beware of the "Dock Nazi"! The grounds are well taken care of but very dated. Best place to get breakfast in the delta. I've never had anything like the french toast, the montecristo is fantastic, and the bloody mary's are solid. Love the Hawaiin/Pirate theme to everything! Don't worry about what other reviewers say about the service, because they obviously don't know that everything runs on 'delta time' in that area. You have to accept the area for what it is. And if you're coming by boat, the guy on the dock directing the parking boats is a little rigid, but if you've ever witnessed the how stupid some people are when it comes to boating, you'll cut him some slack too. I've never had a problem with him. Don't worry about guy's like LC's reviews, he's a downer. read more

Korth's is literally an oasis on the Delta. The owners built it with a Hawaiian theme....lots of palm trees and a Hawaiian style main house. There is a gas dock, marina, launch ramp, cafe, and a trailer park. The trailer park is mostly long term residents, it seems, which makes for some interesting characters. The cafe serves a good breakfast, but the service is very slow. Try to get a seat up top for the view. If you are looking for dinner, keep heading up the Mokulomne to the Riverboat. The launch ramp is cheap, but very tight, so really only good for boats under 20 feet. read more

I have been a tenant at Korths Marina for over twenty years. The marina is family owned and has been in business since forever. They know how to run a marina. Customer service is flawless. The harbormaster, Tom Tate is a kind, generous and very knowledgeable person. Since the boatyard nearby is reluctant to provide service to boaters, Tom has frequently provided me with excellent advice on boat maintenance and repair. He has helped me solve boat problems on numerous occasions. Korths is a great place to keep boats. The wildlife is more numerous than what I observed on a recent Alaskan cruise. It includes sea lions, seals, otters, great blue herons and a proliferation of white herons that nest in the many trees around the marina. read more

The Marina is great, but the cafe is just a greasy spoon and not improving over the many summers that I've stopped here. Not "calorie worthy" at all. Best to try Herman and Helen's or Wimpy's if you're traveling by boat. read more

Korth's is a shining star in the Delta. It harkens back to the "golden days" of Delta boating. The Korth family makes you feel welcome and the natives are friendly. I've had a ton of fun at Korth's. It is not cheap. But it IS well-maintained and full of amenities and ambiance. Its much more than a mere marina- its a destination, a state of mind. I love this spot....for people who like a funky slice of Delta local, this is as good as it gets. Nothing fancy here, but the people are super nice and the diner food is greasy and delicious. The tuna melt that they serve is perfection on toasted sour dough. Sit up on the roof top deck with views of the marina and early 60's vintage Gilligans Island style dock. We berth in the Korth Family's other marina, OxBow. One of our favorite things is to cruise over to this marina for a bite to eat. This is our favorite spot for breakfast. A solid value and always a friendly smile. The setting is relaxful and nice that they have outdoor seating so we can bring our blind dog and not have to leave her on the boat. The sandwiches for lunch are some of my wifes favorites. If you're at the Delta, give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

We've been enjoying the beautiful waters of the Delta for years. We often times us Korth's Lair as a meeting point and for gathering supplies such as ice, beer and food. Most recently we were dropped off by our family at the dock sometime between 6 and 7 in the evening, when we encountered a very nasty and obviously intoxicated women. When we asked if we could access the garbage bin, she immediately attacked us. "where are you from" and "go back to Potato Slew." Many bad words were used in the presence of our 4 children. This woman is a nasty nasty nasty evil troll. She even chased us out to our cars yelling while garnishing a large plastic cup of cheep wine. She was an absolute mess! So if you go to Korth's Lair watch out for a drunk, ugly, trashy woman. Other than housing the wicked which of the Delta, we love Korth's Lair. read more

They need a separate rating for the cafe. The marina is a nice throwback with nice staff, but the cafe is silly. We have been coming to the Delta and Korth's for years and have seen various forms of the cafe and wanna be restauranteurs. Never have I seen or experienced a staff that is so lame. It took an hour and fifteen minutes to get a salad and a sandwich. They seem to feel that's this is OK because they're operating a cafe on the Delta. They think you want to spend all of your boating hours sitting at a table wondering when you will actually be served. Heading somewhere else for breakfast or lunch. Probably gas, too. read more

I love Korth's Pirates Lair Cafe. It is one of my favorite spots in the California Delta. Great homecooked food and friendly staff! They always try to accommodate you. One time I was headed over for breakfast and got stuck behind a bridge opening and got their after the breakfast hour. They still made me some eggs, bacon, and toast! I especially like the omelets or fried eggs for breakfast. For lunch my favorite is a cold tuna sandwich on wheat toast with either fries or salad as a side (depending on how concerned I am about my weight that day). You can come by car, boat, or seaplane to visit this beautiful spot on the Delta. You can sit on the top deck and watch the boats go by in the summer! read more

I was at Korths in the 60s back when the Korth's lived in and above what is now the office behind the restaurant. I have had my own boat birthed there and found the staff to be friendly and the harbor to be a beautiful location to spend my weekends. I liked the addition of the gift shop, used it often. The cafe hasn't been anything to write home about since the Korth's ran it. Lots of fun nights up on the grass BBQn'. I would consider storing my next boat there for sure. Miss this place read more
