In other words, if you want to try classic Danish dishes, this is one of the best options around. Specifically try the 'stegt flæsk med persillesovs' which is thick, but relatively lean, slices of bacon, served with boiled potatoes, parsley sauce, and pickled garnish of different kinds. Simply divine! NOTE: For dinner it's always a good idea to call ahead and book a table, as they're often sold out. And they're closed on Sundays!

One kid dropped his small Lego set in the ground and while he picked up and reassembled his pieces on the floor the staff just walked around him. It was a nice moment. Portions are incredibly large. The tartlets appetizers are like chicken pot pie in a lighter pastry cup. Could be a whole meal. Two of us had the chicken breast which was nicely prepared, not at all dry and a nice crisp skin. My son had the wienerschnitzel and it tasted terrific. The restaurant is part of the hotel, it's connected to the lovely little gift shop. One of the things they have is homemade ice cream, ice cream bars, a lot of different pastry type desserts with ice cream and sorbet. The restaurant has dessert, but I really recommend going to the shop getting some of the ice cream bars they'll serve them to your table. Highly recommended.

It turned out to be one of the best meals we had in Denmark. The staff was super friendly, and the owner and chef were both around to talk to. They even had a few small toys and some drawing materials for our four year old to stay occupied. My salmon appetizer was delicious, and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the fresh shrimp. She finished with a fish dish that left her quite impressed. And my entrée was a pork belly that left me wanting to lick the plate clean. If you are in Vejle and have the time for a nice sit-down meal, this is absolutely my first choice of where to eat. I hope they thrive.
