Having lived in New England the last decade or so, I was so tired of living in the "sandwich desert." Knowing I could go anywhere in the area for dinner, I was craving a NJ deli. This was terrific. Service was great. The place is old-school convenience-style, clearly serving the marina. It's located perfectly. It was clean-ish/maybe...but what I was after was the food. I got a really good, and BIG Taylor ham, egg, and cheese with S/P/K. I figured it would be my appetizer (as they're typically a polite 3-bite size). This was delicious and substantial. The only thing keeping it from perfect was the ketchup was oddly tasteless. Typically the sweetness of the Heinz balances the salty of the cheese and Taylor ham. This may have been less than Heinz brand and was tasteless. For the main event, I got their Italian Sub. Add hot peppers. Holy cow! GIGANTIC AND REALLY FRESH AND TASTY!!! All of this was way more than I imagined and made me so happy to be back in the 973. Really great find by me (lucky). If this is lesser-known, go and tell everyone you know. If I'm the last to know, then you are all one step ahead! Taylor Ham was $8. Fantastic deal. Italian sub was $15. Could easily feed 2. I'll be back.

Somewhere in the ballpark of $12-$13 too...whatttt? Also had to grab another "Jersey Meat" egg and cheese for my buddy Eric from Cultinary Road Trip who was making his first visit here. She was making drinks, stocking shelves, helping customers, answering questions, and somehow being in three places at once. I'm about 67% sure she cloned herself. I asked for my order and she handed it to me in about 30 seconds. Either she's incredibly efficient or she's secretly practicing witchcraft in the back. I won't be investigating further. The only downside? She made me feel incredibly unproductive. I watched her do the work of six employees while I spent five minutes deciding what flavor mini ice cream parfait I wanted.... (Chose cookies and cream btw) Overall, the parfait was great, the service was amazing, and if Zoe ever quits, this Wawa might collapse into the Atlantic Ocean. As we squeezed through the aisles and others squeezed by us, I scoured all the shelves. Fruits / veggies seemed fairly normal, some normal food on every shelf and some Middle Eastern brands. Then you get to the multiple brands of mulberry syrup, the various types of dried sweet olives, the Azerbaijani salsas, and things get fun. This is a Turkish mart, but they branch out in all directions. I found Lebanese, Palestinian, Hungarian... the list certainly goes on. It was fun picking out different foods I felt like trying. They had a pile of fresh-cooked, fresh-wrapped breads made in Irvington. Still good 3 days later, now part of my sandwiches for the week. They sell a lot of sausages (all halal, no pork), but the star is their homemade beef sausage. I grabbed one of those and it's now sliced on those fresh breads (along with the Azerb salsa and some baba ghanoush). And yeah, I did end up with some olives for fun. Great little place if you just want to explore. If you're someone halal and/or from the Middle East, so much the better. Now, you do pay quite a bit more for many of the foods here, most notably where you can find similar brands/products elsewhere. And I noted the small size before, which means they're limited in what they can carry. Some items, like the olives, took up disproportionately much shelf space, squeezing out some of the varieties I would have liked to see more of (like hummus, there was very little to peruse).
