Don't judge it from the outside. It has a nice, clean dining room inside with fresh food prepared when ordered. It's not just Korean BBQ, but there's a large menu of Korean food of every kind. I'm not very familiar with the food, but what we ordered was generous in size and delicious! The shrimp were actually as large as prawns, and the seafood pancake was loaded with mussels and shrimp and served with a tasty sauce. Love love love! We went to celebrate a new job venture. My boyfriend had the mackerel and I had the bulgogi. It was literally amazing. I kept trying to get a piece of his fish beside it was incredible. The service was top notice, everything is made fresh. Sunday evening dinner and so glad we finally made it out here to try! It's a family owned restaurant that isn't pretentious, just delicious food. We ordered the kimchi pancake, bulgogi, and spicy pork. I usually get pics of menus to help with remembering names and descriptions but spaced this time. In any case, the food was so good, my husband ordered the spicy beef to take to-go for lunch the next day. He never does that! Will we be back? Oh yeah! While we enjoy the whole "cook your own food" experience or even many places cook your food in front of you on the grills (I been told this is really how the experience should be) I will definitely come back here because the food is that good. I've worked in many small, family owned and operated restaurants and know how challenging it can be. Seeing the family up there, working together and all pitching in to help keep the business successful, I will support this over a corporate chain any day. If it is then Korean BBQ is where you will find the hidden gem inside the city of Greenville. I was truly surprised after entering this lovely establishment and my waitress (Nicole) was quick, charming and simply made the overall experience that much better. Service was poor/slow because they were short handed. I would have overlooked that if the food was good, but it was not. Ordered the beef bulgogi. It was dry, no sauce at all, period. No evidence of any sesame and the beef was gray. Ended up putting it in a to go box and my wife will try to salvage it at home. Food is 5/5 but service is horrible!!! I wish I had more photos of all the dishes we've tried from here. Located in a dingy strip mall right off Woodruff, they dish out some pretty authentic Korean eats. You walk in and are greeted and showed a seat. There's usually only one server for the entire place which is why I cut them slack but the order they serve people in is ridiculous. Now the bad - service. If you are HANGRY, avoid cause it is incredibly frustrating watching the way they serve people. People that come in after you will still get their drinks and banchan before you. The past few visits, they would bring out the banchan and drinks to the tables that came in after us and bring out all our banchan with our meal. Very frustrating but I love this place so I come back anyway. Now the good - I absolutely love the banchan here, specifically the broccoli, potato salad, jabchae and cucumbers. The seafood and veggie pancake is the BEST thing (when made on a good day). Some days are meh but other days we demolish the entire thing. When it's puffy and crispy, it's absolutely delicious dipped in the sauce provided. We also really enjoy the spicy pork and the galbi. The rice they provide is sticky and mushy and amazing, I love it!!! We also like the yukgaejang and the soon tofu soups. Some days can be bland, some are perfectly seasoned. I think consistency may be something they struggle with but most days we realllly enjoy our meal here. I would say prob some of the best Korean in Greenville! First, the location stopped me from coming here for 5 years and I wish I could have those years back. The food is outstanding every time we go. There aren't many places I can say that about. Located in the Red Robin gas station strip it's outward appearance can be deceiving. Seat yourself once you get in and ask your server for recommendations. I swear by the Gamja Tang. It is full of flavor from the stock to the pork ribs. Don't forget the accoutrements that come on the side. I never leave without an extra order of the cucumbers. Korean BBQ is definitely one of the authentic Korean restaurants around Greenville! The owners are very sweet; we had great service here! Id recommend coming here during lunch for their lunch specials which range from $8-$12. We came here for dinner and their prices are from $11-$19.
