The prices are listed on the bottom of each item and it comes with all the supplies, paint, and final firing. There is not table fee here like at other places. The staff is incredible. They remember you by name when you come in and are so helpful with picking out ideas, sharing techniques, and getting colors for you to use. If you don't finish your item the first time, you can come back and finish a 2nd time at no cost! ($10 if you come back after that on the same item.) We came just us the first time, and the 2nd time we came back with our son. It is a very different experience with kids vs adults, but either way is fun!

Then I found this studio that had plenty of availability with very seasoned instructors. I took a private class with Leslie and it was amazing. She really took the time to teach and guide me through wheel throwing, and was VERY patient with me. I knew nothing about this art and when I came out, I felt so accomplished. Also, she's an amazing artist and has been doing this for a very long time. I will definitely be back for more classes!! The price of a 1.5hr private lesson was actually pretty affordable compared to all the other studios I researched too.

I saw ceramic Christmas tree painting events advertised on Facebook and decided to give it a go…read more The prices were a bit high for what I was expecting, but I splurged since making my own ceramic tree has been something I've wanted to do for a long time. Price points started at $65 for a small tree and up to $150 for a large one. My mom and I each got medium sized trees, which I think are about 12 inches tall. Painting other stuff there might be cheaper, but I'm not sure. The staff people on the day of the event were super nice and helpful. The directions were pretty straight forward: Paint three layers of your desired color on the tree and base and then it would take 2 to 3 weeks to fire and finish off. There were lots of paint colors with three or four kinds of finishes to choose from. They give you some recommendations and guidance if you ask. I ended up going with a blue ombre one. When they texted me the day it was ready to pick up, I drove back out that day to get it because I was so excited. It turned out beautiful! The light kit that came with it wasn't great. The lights were too small for the holes, so I bought replacement ones online and it's perfect. I would definitely recommend this place and do it again, but probably for special occasions since it can get pricey.

I have purchased a couple of canvases here in the past, but during my most recent visit, this staff member was so rude that I actually walked out right before making a purchase. They carry Penny Linn canvases and accessories, and while I love buying those in-person, I refuse to support a shop that treats people this way. It is incredibly disappointing--they even have an item in stock right now that is sold out everywhere online, but I would genuinely rather wait for another shop to restock it than give Beehive another dime. As a fairly new needlepointer, I just don't feel comfortable asking for help here. I used to come in for thread, but from now on, I will be buying online or driving further away to shops that actually welcome their customers.

After 30 minutes in the store, I was never greeted, checked on, or even smiled at. There were at least four or five women working and there were plenty of opportunities for someone to say hello without going out of their way. Two of them pushed past me to help other customers and one glared at me after I smiled when we made eye contact. After 30 minutes, I walked out. I have never experienced anything like this.
