On our most recent visit, some of the interesting things we saw: recycled license plates made into belt buckles and bracelets; inner tube bracelets with Barbie doll head inset; great belts which incorporated old magazines into the design; handmade mugs and other assorted pottery; a variety of wooden utensils; hand painted silk scarves; various interesting vintage and antique items; hand made soaps; braided rugs; bedding. The list goes on. Every time I go there, I see different things as Tammy seems to move things around quite often. Hand Works is located in an old house - which is in itself a fun little building to see. She rents out one room to tourists. My mom loves Tammy - and Tammy bends over backwards to provide fantastic customer service whenever we are there. We only get over there once a year now, but she always recognizes my mom and stops to chat. Would I recommend: Yes Would I return: Yes

Tammy has the greatest attitude and can cook an even better breakfast. There are 2 rooms available for rent on the property with a cozy garden and warm giant deck. We always stay there when we tour Prince Edward County and always have an amazing experience. Breakfast is a gourmets dream with fresh berries from the property, warm croissants , eggs, homemade jam and coffee. Thanks for everything Tammy we will be back soon.

Love everything Lavender!!…read more I visited Prince Edward Lavender during off season early September, so there is no lavender field. But I was not disappointed as I knew before my visit from the commication from their website. I love lavender products so to support local business, I usually try to buy something from their on site store whenever possible. There are good selection of products for aromatherapy, culinary, decor and beauty products that made of lavender. Just smelling the fragrance made browsing the store enjoyable. Worth dropping by next time when you are wine tasting in the PEC area. This is a good pit stop and a break from all the wine sipping!

Came here after a recommendation from a local artisan shop owner that we could visit the SHED…read morealpaca farm. This farm consists of 55 acres in Prince Edward County on which alpaca are raised. In the SHED (literally a converted chicken coop), alpaca luxury children's wear, scarves, blankets, yarn, gloves, ponchos, stuffed toys, socks, and hats are for sale. Items are very pricey but extremely well made and feel soooo soft to the touch. This would be a neat place to take little ones who might be interested in seeing cute alpacas. (80/100)

The sculptures are for sale so they get replaced periodically with new ones. As you can see from my photos, the sculptures are varied and unique. Who doesn't love a dancing frog? The indoor gallery has contemporary and other art. This artwork is also for sale. Since the gallery isn't too big, we had time for lunch at the nearby restaurant on a summer weekend. What a great way to enjoy this part of Ontario. The parking is plentiful too.

BOTTOM LINE: A (free) hidden gem in PEC…read more For a gallery that's been around since 2004, and with an added outdoor sculpture garden since 2011, I am shocked - SHOCKED - that this place has not been raved about on Yelp yet! Located on the grounds of Huff Estates Winery, the diminutive gallery/front office somehow manages to obscure the expansive back garden that can simply be described as a collaborative dreamscape of Dali x Escher. Simply sublime! My favourite work in the garden was easily Derya Ozparlak's towering "New Life", aka Balloon Girl, but which has apparently been sold to the tune of a luxury sedan, so you better come by soon to see it before it moves into its new home! A miniature version of this is also available in their indoor gallery as well, speaking of which, now requires an appointment to view during COVID-19 times. This. Place. Is. Amazing.

We tried to visit Hickory Tree's Antique store. Stopped and walked up to the barn to see if it's…read moreopen. Two minutes later the owner came out of the main house and started yelling at us aggressively for missing a sign saying that the antique store is closed. (We later saw the sign. It was tiny and hard to see from the road.) We apologized, and he just stormed off. Very rude and unprofessional.
