    Beautiful mountains and valleys
    Emme K.

I took the family on an adventure in the beautiful Kohala area where it's so scenic. We had so much fun driving the UTV big enough for 4 people. The guides were fantastic, safety focused and told us great stories about the culture and history of the area. We saw beautiful landscapes, a waterfall and traversed in areas not open to the public. Tip for folks - you will get really dusty so it's best to wear long pants and to bring a change of clothes. I didn't have sneakers so I wore my water shoes that covered my toes. They have wipes you can use afterwards. This was the most fun we've had so far on the big island and would highly recommend, especially for folks who want to drive a UTV and do some safe off roading with the fam or group of people.

Kohala UTV was the highlight of our trip to the Big Island. This is a 'must do' if you go to Hawaii. The northern part of the island is so beautiful. Our guides, Henry and Nato, were so much fun and very knowledgeable of the area and the Hawaiian history. I keep looking back at the photos we took and I'll never forget what a wonderful experience the entire tour was. The guys in the van and the ladies at the office were so friendly and helpful as well. I even got a tshirt for my nephew back home. Thanks so much!

Family of 5 adults who had a ball! Our other ATV excursion was cancelled because of the rain on Hilo side but Kohala UTV Adventures was available and so glad we did it. The shuttle drives were friendly & knowledgeable and so were our UTV guides. Everyone was professional and made this tour a lot of fun. We had lots of mud and got dirty which was sooooo fun! Beautiful scenery, waterfalls, stories, views, greenery and good times!! Mahalo guys for an enjoyable excursion!

The excursion was excellent. It was a lot of fun and our guides were great. They were full of stories and history and glad to share. The vehicles were very good and were up to the task. They were easy to drive and maneuver. The trails were interesting, they went through some beautiful countryside. We stopped a few times to take in the scenery. There were also some cooperative wild pigs who graced us with their presence. We would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks to Isaiah, Jericho, and Henry

LOVED this!! My husband and I had an amazing time! All the guides were awesome. They were super fun, knowledgeable, and friendly, and they made the whole experience super welcoming. Our guides snuck some selfies onto our phones while helping us take pictures hahahaha. The views were also great and the route was just the right amount of difficult and fun.

Kohala UTV was awesome. The trail was great and the views were stunning. The total length of the trip was impressive. Usually these things are like 30min long. This was almost 1.5hrs of fast paced off-road driving!

One of the many beautiful views you get to take in on your amazing adventure with the best guides in the business!!

5 stars are not enough for the excellence in the way this tour is done. Jericho, Keanu, Henry, Isaiah, Bernelle, Narlynn, Krystle are THE BEST at what they do. As a former resident of Kohala the history that was shared and the views you get made me so proud to be from a place with so much rich history and beauty. If you are considering booking this tour, consider this your sign book it!!!!! This is the BEST tour you will ever go on in the entire state of Hawaii, Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo, for the memories and your great service and aloha !! Kohala no ka oi !!

My brother, his wife and myself went to this tour and had an absolute blast. I highly recommend this. You see parts of the island and a view that is from a private farm. We saw a beautiful waterfall, wild pig, and an amazing view of the coast. I take credit for mentioning this to my SIL and for them agreeing, we're older so I figured they would say no. There was only one other couple on this tour and it is very personalized. The staff were very friendly and funny. Do it if you can!

Burnell, Jericho and Isaiah get plenty ALOHA and made locals feel right at home. We live on the Big Island but there's no way you'd get to see the views of North Kohala unless you come on this tour. We loved the education on the 8 Valleys, the islands facing Pololu and the legacy of the Hawaiian people still living and working the area today. Jericho is full of life and energy and is clearly passionate about sharing his home with others but also emphasizes respect for the land and people. Most impressive of all, he caught 2 pigs during our ride. Unbelievable. Waterfalls, breathtaking views, mud, pigs, cow pies, you name it. Choke fun and thanks for making my wife and I feel welcome in your backyard!

Awesome view point - 6 valleys

Fantastic tour. Staff and guides are super knowledgeable and help you feel the importance of the land features. The actual driving experience is fun and has interesting hills to test your driving skills. Depending on conditions, you may want to have someone who is experienced driving off roads. Not mandatory, but some stuff happens and you probably should have someone comfortable with terrain. The surrounding town is great with an awesome gallery - local art!

Recently we brought a few friends with us and wanted to do some touristy things that we had never tried before. We found the Giving Tour, and hands-down - this is the best trip we have had to date on this island ever! Sam and Dev live on the Island and are just absolutely wonderful human beings, extremely warm, reliable, knowledgeable at the about the island and the area and passionate about helping people and giving back to their beautiful island. Dev is a riot, there are no dull moments when she is around! Sam is a Jack of all trades who always has a fresh coconut on hand to crack open and share. We booked the farm lunch and tour and it was amazing! The farm is on a beautiful 20 acre property that will blow your mind. It filled with so many different kinds of fruits and vegetables and even animals! The spread we had for lunch was out of this world... We ate until we could barely move. The farm tour was awesome, Travis, the garden manager showed us the garden with all of his awesome medicinal plants and tasty veggies then we got the grand tour with so many exotic fruit trees to sample from and plants from around the world to marvel at. This is not a tour that you can pick out of any random guidebook. We became closer as friends, and made some awesome friends at the farm. This is an insiders look into life on the island, and I cannot recommend it enough! If you want a run-of-the-mill tour with long lines and manufactured entertainment, this is not the tour for you. This is a behind the scenes look at this beautiful island and culture. You will have tons of fun, meet amazing people, eat incredible food and have memories that will last a lifetime. We also did another tour the same week and it also surpassed my expectations. It's a great value for the money and Sam and Dev are the most amazing tour guides I've ever experienced anywhere in the world. Thank you Giving Tour for giving us this beautiful memory.

I can't more highly recommend.

The color of Mauna Kea with the moon shining on it was so magical all around us. There were some clouds that cleared pretty well by the end of our star gazing. We were the last ones up there so it got dark enough to see more than you'd expect with the moon. Jeff, our awesome tour guide, used a laser pointer to help us see the constellations we usually can't back at home. The images on the digital telescope like nebulas, the moon & star clusters were an amazing addition to have as keepsakes. My husband and I felt he made the tour a great balance of learning and fun. He had the group feeling like family before we even left from the pickup lot. Things to consider: I do recommend following the moons cycles booking this tour/your trip if this is especially important for you to see as many stars as possible. The sunset and views of the observatory's make it awesome anyways :) I struggled with altitude sickness around 12,000 ft. Jeff had made sure to let us know beforehand if we experienced any issues to speak up. I was hesitant as I know it would mean turning the whole tour around, but some tingling turned to dizziness and then a brief fainting. He immediately stopped the bus and helped ground me and make sure I was completely okay & coherent before letting me know our options for the tour. We made it up to the top with 2 more (included in tour) stops and I felt better with each one having more time to acclimate :) Thank you Jeff!! You handled this so professionally and I appreciate your check-ins for the rest of the trip. It's cold even with parka and gloves. It's so worth packing warm shoes and layers. The bus had ac and heat so that was great! Do it if you can! Awe-inspiring! Such an unreal environment that makes you wonder about so many things. Although we didn't have any major issues, I coordinated with their team to notify them that we would be driving to the starting point on our own, but the guy still called us at the would-be meet up spot near our hotel thinking that we were still taking a shuttle. No biggie. If you do drive, they have a parking lot where you can park your car while you're out and about. It's important that you wear a short sleeve shirt and shorts long enough to be used with the harness. Any extra items that you have, you can bring along in the shuttle, but you just won't take them with you on the course. They told us to get there at eight and the shuttle and most of the other gas didn't arrive until 8:30am. Soon after they gave us the safety guidelines and overall rules for the zip line experience. We were put into our harnesses and given helmets and gloves. Then we all got into the shuttle and drove up to the ropes course starting point. We had Dane & Brogan as our guides. They were totally awesome and super helpful throughout the whole course. Their directions were very clear and ensured everyone was safe and having a really fun time. They were super knowledgeable of the area and even told us more about the local flora and fauna. They also took photos along the way which you could purchase at the end of the trip if you wanted. At the end of the zipline, we got back in the shuttle and drove to a scenic Lookout point of the cliffs in the ocean where we had lunch that was provided by the company: a sandwich (of your choice picked prior to the trip) chips, a cookie, and juice or sparkling water. After our break, we got back in the shuttle and drove to another spot. I wouldn't say it's necessarily a hike, but more of a nature walk down to the waterfall spot. It was beautiful! We had a great time swimming around and going under the waterfall. After we got back in the shuttle and drove to the headquarters. Even though the zipline was fun, learning about the nature on the island and walking around was one of my favorite parts. The zipline was so cool though! It is a mix of starter and long runs. Having had been on zipline before, it was a good course with plenty of great runs where you got to see everything around you for a good period of time before slowing down and stopping. Between the zipline, waterfalls, hiking views, and all of the knowledge we were taught about the nature and beauty of the island, this tour was absolutely worth it. Next time we are on the big island, we will have to go again. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the island.
