We don't live in Stockholm but have been a few times. Our local friend took us here a bit ago. I love Thai food. I think the food quality is awesome. They have a nice vegetarian section. It's also a fun and goofy place so great for kids or adults. It's popular, but don't worry, they have a good area to chill and have a drink while you wait, and it's HUGE so they move through people quickly. read more

This Thai Island themed joint is unique. The inside takes you into a world totally foreign to the urban jungle of Stockholm. Koh Phangan has created a Thai Island secluded playground. There are little streams flowing through the restaurant. Large man-made tropical trees shade your table. Festive lights illuminate the underground dining room. Best of all to me, the food was outstanding. The ribs, while not falling off the bone, still were very tender & juicy. They were carefully marinated to ensure a pleasant fall-apart quality. The sweet, garlicky sauce played well with the fatty greasiness of the ribs. The dish was served with resilient, yet tender jasmine rice. An aromatic, sticky, and almost sweet preparation. This place was a bit more than I wanted to spend ($USD23 for lunch) but I don't regret it. read more

This restaurant is defiantly unique! It's a tropical themed Thai restaurant. When you first enter its feels tacky and overkill, there are multicoloured lights everywhere but once you settle in you start to see its charm, especially when the food arrives! When you are seated, you are given a complimentary spicy salad which was really nice but be warned its hot! I'm not a lover of spice so I choose the fried rice with cashew and pineapple. It was absolutely delicious! Ingredients are all lovely and fresh and with great flavour. There also do cocktails and beers, an seem to have a full bar aswel. During my visit there was a thunder shower where lighting crackles through the restaurant and all the light flicker! It's a bit cheesy but actually quite fun! The entire experience I give a good 4 star rating, I drop one star for the service, they were not very attentive, we waiting quite a long time to get our order taken and when it did it was raced through at a point where we were actually kind of confused as to what we ended up ordering. My partner asked for a recommendation an was just told the Thai dish name with no further info, which was useless seeing as the menu is very large. The service is pretty weak, we had to chase our waiter for everything, drinks, food, the bill. Although this is my second time here an the first time the service was better so maybe on busier nights expect less. read more

I really enjoy this place. The atmosphere in the restaurant seems authentic to me - never actually been in Thailand, but the restaurant at least succeeded in giving me the "koh phangan" feel. The service was very pleasant. The food was delicious. We ordered 4 different plates and all were very satisfied. There is a bit of a queue coming here, which can be a drag. But as long as you know and keep busy at the bar, it's not a big issue. read more

It's the best place to be if you are looking to eat somewhere that is different & fun & reminds you of sun,beach & vacation times in the middle of the long dark winter! They have pretty nice dishes & they serve good quality meat. But of course you can't expect Thai stand prices. The thing I really like about it is that they also serve BBQ dishes that are really good. Two hours waiting time to get a table is nothing strange here. What I don't appreciate is that they often regardless of the number/ size of ppl try to squeeze you in a pretty small space where you can hardly move your arms to cut your meat freely! read more

Koh Phangan is actually some of the best Thai food I have ever had. I am by no means a Thai food connoisseur, so my experience is limited, but I have eaten enough to know the difference between the Thai food I ate in San Francisco, and the Thai food at Koh Phangan. It's only now that I realize how San Francisco thai food truly pales in comparison. In retrospect, SF's Thai scene is made up of bland, uninspiring cuisine. Koh Phangan inspires on many levels. The food was really excellent. The Penang Neu, the Chicken Satay, and the Pad Thai, all very standard Thai dishes were all better than I've previously had. They were extremely flavorful and extremely spicy, so if you don't like spicy food, buyer beware. The ambiance is fun. It's a bit tacky and overdone for my taste, especially when the lights went out and there was a thunder and lightning display, but the quality of the cuisine is enough for me to sit through it and enjoy the atmosphere. Restaurant is decorated in that kitchy funny thai style, (you know, christmas lights here and there, pictures of royalties etc.) so you really feel like you'd be sitting in some restaurant in Koh Samui - or Koh Phangan. And what is most important thing in thai restaurants, food is spicy. After hard drinking night out in cruise ship from Helsinki, Koh Phangan's lunch here really made me feel alive again. read more

On a Tuesday evening, the wait was 40 minutes. We debated whether or not to wait and we were glad that we did. On the recommendation of our server, we ordered the mixed grilled seafood platter and the duck dish which were both very good. We also ordered the obligatory pad thai which was incredible. Washed it down with 2 Singha beers. We had 3 young children with us and this place is super kid friendly. You can tell by the number of strollers parked out front. I wouldn't say this is the best Thai I've ever had, but for Stockholm and after 2 Italian dinners and 2 cold traditional Swedish lunches this week, Thai cuisine hit the spot! read more

A Stockholmer friend steered me towards xxx. We had to wait a while for a table, but totally worth it. Ok the food here is excellent, the service is pleasant but what really stands out is that they've gone to incredible lengths to recreate a Thai beach bar in a modern building in Stockholm. Features include a water course, complete with bridge, a table made out of a tuk-tuk, lots of exciting canopies made out of leaves and an interesting multilayered construction. Food is great, but the service is horrible. A 45 min wait for a table ended up to 1 and a half hour wait. We got seated and after 15 minutes I had to go up to the waiter and ask to order. During our meal no one ever came to check up on us so we sat there with empty glasses and started to get frustrated. We decided to leave this place since nobody would give us attention,but it took another 20 minutes to grab the waiters attention for the check. Ok... cute bartender who made us fantastic Singapore sling and apple mojjito. We were seated next to a water with goldfishes in it. I ordered seafood mix it was ok.. a bit tasteless. My friend ordered baby ribs and great portion size and super tender ribs. Great value for money. We also ordered the pad Thai w chicken. Fantastic! Although the service could be a bit better. This is my favorite restaurant in Stockholm. The food is great, I didn't even know I liked Thai food until I started coming here. The ambiance is great too, it's a Caribbean theme with black lights,christmas lights and reggae music, and it really works. There is a cool "thunderstorm event" where they dim the lights and play the sound of a rainstorm, and when the thunder hits they flash the lights like lightning, very fun. Everything I have ordered has been good, my favorite is the green curry chicken. The mixed drinks from the bar are great too, and the staff is very friendly.
