Both areas are surprisingly grassy with very few dry spots given how sunny and dry the weather's been this summer. Highly recommend! There are basketball courts, picnic tables, and ample parking. Not the most shady of parks, but would still recommend this place.

There is also a nice play area for kids but it is in the blazing sun. I gave four stars because the parking lot is very small. The grass area was swampy and muddy. Also gave this rating for the lack of shade trees.

There are no swing, but there is a lot of other fun things to do. All 4 of my kids have a good time here. I would say it is aimed more at the 4 to 8 year old group. It has a nice slide and lots of obstacles for kids to climb on. It is pretty clean here. The basketball courts are nice. It is in close proximity to the Sierra Lakes Elementary. At night, this place can be shady. When the sun goes down, we tend to leave with our kids. It is a nice place to visit on cool afternoons/evenings. It lacks a good amount of shade. During our hot summers, the equipment can get very hot and burn skin. Be cautious of that!

The playground is awesome too because it works well for both toddlers and bigger kids, probably around ages 2-13, so families with multiple kids can all enjoy it together. There's lots of shade throughout the park which makes a huge difference during hot days, plus public restrooms which are actually convenient and useful when spending a few hours there. It's also very dog friendly and overall just has a safe, relaxed, family atmosphere. Definitely one of the better parks in the area.

You are able to rent the area in 3hour increments so we rented the 8:00-11:00am time block as well as the noon-3:00pm time block. Depending on the season the prices vary in the city of Rancho Cucamonga. It's about $90/3 hours with hidden maintenance fees on top too. I think we get a better bang for our buck at the parks in Upland where you can pay by the hour and pick your own times too. Mountain View Park has a small parking lot with a football/soccer field, baseball field, a full court basketball court, a children's playground area and swing set and an exercise court around the perimeter of the park walk way. In addition to the large picnic shelter area, there are many small open picnic tables and barbecue areas that available on a first come first serve basis. The hexagon shaped shelter area gave us much room for creativity with our blue and yellow Minions themed party. The shade was really nice for our older relatives who doesn't love the sun. The kids loooooved the playground. There were swings and slides and some of the kids were just playing in the sand. I have a soft spot for parks with sand, instead of the nasty wood chips. One of my nephews brought his soccer ball and they were all over the large grass fields. We even had a pinata but these trees were too short. It was no challenge for these energy pumped kids. The kids had a blast and our party was a success, but I feel like this park it still far from a 5 star. It is definitely on the smaller side so a lot of the group was standing around or scattered to the nearby tables to make it work. I prefer it when the large picnic area is enough to fit the whole group, especially when the city is overcharging for the space.
